Like the first time

I'm feeling alive all over again
As deep as the sky, under my skin
Like being in love, she says, for the first time
Maybe I'm wrong, I'm feeling right
Where I belong with you tonight
Like being in love to feel for the first time

- Lifehouse’s “First Time” -

The premise of the television series “Life” centers around the yummy Damian Lewis (don’t ask) as Detective Charlie Crews who was wrongfully convicted of murders of his family and his business partner. After spending 12 years in jail, he emerged with an almost innocent, child-like perspective on certain technological advances that has whizzed him by. He sets about his new life solving crimes with a new partner, with a latest obsession on finding out who or what has caused his exile in prison.

The premise of MY life:

After spending almost 3 years working with the same partners in the same environment, doing basically the same tasks, getting quite good at what she does but still doubts the knowledge that she possesses, she was hit by her own version of mini disasters. Suddenly, the building blocks of what she thought her future would be came tumbling down. In a span of a month or so, she finds herself losing her best mates (almost the sole reason for waking up to go to work everyday), being uprooted from the cushy position she was in (it was something that she could do almost blindfolded), and having to co-exist with almost strangers. She has to grapple with the heavier responsibilities, peculiar co-workers (who are really darlings, it’s just that she has never encountered people like them before!), and the prospect of going at it almost alone. The only thing that’s keeping her going is her quest in knowledge and the satisfaction from getting her tasks done successfully. Not exactly the stuff of what “fun” is made of, but then she has also come to accept this little reality:

She’s gotta grow up.

p/s: Mak perasan mak lah diva di atas ittew, dengan memakai couture gown daripada Armani, merenung jauh into the future, searching for a place where she truly belongs…boleh?!
