And everything was wiped away...
How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
- Bob Dylan's " Blowing In the Wind" -
Although i was horrified and saddened by the calamaties which have fallen to our neighbours and fellow countrymen, i couldn't help but be fascinated by God's display..to see beaches wiped out and tall waves sloshing over streets is a reminder that nothing lasts, and as much as we planned for things to not happen, by God's will they will....my condolences and prayers to those who have lost family members and those who are suffering as a result of the tragedy...
Christmas weekend went unlike how it was planned..i got another invitation for an open house for Saturday evening, and spent it with the yummy host, Melissa and an old-time chum, Azura..needless to say, we bitched and gossiped our hearts away over yummy spread of turkey, lamb, potato salad, pasta and orange juices spiked with ginger beer :p i guess i can't get enough of chatting with Azura, cuz then i spent an hour at her place, chatting till i remembered i was due at Su-Li's...Su-Li's was a quieter affair this year...due to some glitch in their plans, nobody was able to make it for the party, cept for me and Aishah..but it was nice catching up, and learning to play Pictionary...it was a first for me, this Pictionary thingy, *can u bear?!* and now, i want to look for Pictionary kaki laa...any takers?
and Sunday night dinner was at the new Ayam Nor outlet in Subang Jaya, as they had an opening cum open house for their customers aka free food..we knew the owners since back when we were neighbours in Subang...after the economic downturn which results in his downturn, he bounced back with this business idea, which, judging by the crowd in the MIdvalley outlet, is a brilliant one..so the family and i were there to provide our support..and, folks, nothing against the mamaks and all, but actually, our malay food is really drowning in the sea of roti canai, tosai, roti bom and teh tarik..it would be great if we would be able to revive malay food and bring it to the level as at where the mamak stalls are at now....so, Ayam Nor is in SS17 Subang Jaya, you cant' miss it..enter the second exit into Subang, straight on before the first set of traffic lights on the left..where Hana Mercini used to be...near the Chatters and Mama Chops & Papa Grills restaurants...specialties are the ayam golek, mee rebus, mee bandung, and the soto...really, really yummy...and authentic..
oh, and i met Zareen there as well...this foxy but extremely friendly chick who i got to know in Uni was also Ferr's senior...she's married and has a baby boy now! imagine that!! she used to have the best guys pick her up, and once, we even witnessed her and 2 of her boyfriends, who unfortunately, was there simultaneously, and was having a little tiff...hehehe...and she's happily married..awww.......
i had a little exam yesterday which could either bring better job prospects or a totally different type of workload and I was also presented with a proposition..all on the same day....
how?
p/s: takziah to the Totz...insya-Allah, we'll meet up real soon...
