Someone once said, when a door closes, a window opens...

Ain't no headlights on the road tonight
Ain't nobody here to make it right
Cos we couldn't seem to find a way, for love to stay
If you had another night to give
I would have another night to live
But you're never gonna see me cry the last goodbye

- Atomic Kitten's "The Last Goodbye" -

my last Tango Orange
my last Shish Kofte
my last grocery shopping
my last roam in Walthamstow
my last bargains in Primark
my last "filling up the bucket"
my last Nip Tuck, What Not To Wear, The Weakest Link, Richard and Judy, and the last Ny-Lon
my last laundry
my last meal
my last super-duper fast broadband connection
my last chase after the red busses
my last glimpse of the streets of London
my last look around my tiny bedroom
my last glance at the house i stayed in
my last gush of the crispy London air...

this is my goodbye...this post is dedicated to the year that has passed by like a dream..its amazing how fast time flies, and how events that happened became memories...its unbelievable that i have gained 12 months of my life, and within those months, my life had undergone a most enriching experience...its simply a breathtaking experience that i feel like crying my eyeballs out...

and its staggering to find out that i can miss the people around me so much...

when i first arrived here, i cried my eyes out cuz i can't believe i made the conscious decision to leave all my loved ones and everything i was comfortable with to come here...

when i first arrived in London, i cried my eyes out in my school's toilet as my lecturer did not have enough confidence in me completing the course due to my late entry...

when i first arrived here, i hardly knew how to cook, do the laundry, chop up chickens, and make tea...

when i first arrived here, i was shy as hell, and preferred to stumble around in my ignorance...

when i first arrived here, i was more of a yes-person, who goes along to what most people say, and not having proper opinions of her own...

and now, i think i've overcome all of the above, insya-Allah...alhamdulillah, all praises to God for allowing me to experience all that i've experienced before...God is great as i didn't know what i had done right to deserve such luck...and my gratitude also extends to my parents for making this happen...

and as i type this out on my last night, i breathe a sigh of relief, sadness and happiness...i always suck at leaving any places or people...be it, primary or secondary schools, unis, rented properties, homes, even offices...what more a place i've lived in during one of my most independent years...

i guess i don't need to state how i'm gonna miss this so much..as i looked at the ancient red busses, i reflected on everything that has happened in one year...and how i'll never look at the bus the same way again, not ever....

i don't want this to end, but life is all about changes..and now, maybe its time i undergo another change...

wonder what i'll be thinking once i step into the departure hall?
