The Father's in da howze!

Bapaku pulang dari kerja
Bapaku beli kan kereta
Kereta kecil warna merah
Boleh ku bawa ke sekolah
Pon pon pon pon pon pon pon pon pon
Kereta kecilku berbunyi
Marilah adik mari naik
Boleh ku bawa jumpa nenek

- Malaysian Primary School's Compulsory Song -

i've had that tune since this afternoon, when i received a text saying " Ayah dah sampai..." whoopee!! bapaku dah mai! unfortunately, i was at Worldwrite googling agents for celebrities when i got that message, and me being me, had forgotten to charge it earlier..so, when i called him up, it died on me! i was frantic of course, as my dad wanted to put a night up at my place, and he's still at the airport awaiting instructions from moi...

so, i excused myself, said goodbye to everyone, and dashed off as fast as i can back home *thank god its near*, and called him up with the house phone to tell him to come over straight...rushed to cook some fried rice, omellete and fried keropok, running the washing machine as well, and cleaning up..alhamdulillah, he arrived safely, without bothering to call me up when he reached my place, instead barging into the house when my landlord happened to be out and left the front door open...tengok-tengok, he was already climbing the stairs with a huge suitcase..hehehe...he is obviously enjoying MY bed right now, but no snores yet...hmm, belum masuk gear la tu..hehehehe

today, i met Helen, Marta's other half..she's really cool, and have been with the organisation since 1997..did my tasks, entering email addresses of volunteers, stuffing letters into envelopes, then all of us had lunch at the tiny flat above the office..the flat was gorgeous, very homely and creatively decorated with a few red walls, comfy couches, and tons of memorabilias...we had cheese omelletes, salad and crisps..and chatted about myself, Richard Branson's stratospheric flights, scaffoldings, and other world issues...like wow, i basically kept quiet and nodded most of the time :p but it was fun...the company was good...

but today, as i've always noticed on the days i missed my Subuh prayers, things went wrong...today, my room light went bust..yet again...what a way to welcome the Father huh? the first thing he did after putting down the suitcase is to change the lightbulb..unfortunately, the lightbulb was not the problem, apparently the fixture is rosak..so, we had dinner bermandikan cahaya 2 table lamps, generouly donated by my landlord..*sigh* i wonder when it'll get fixed...

and tomorrow, i'm not coming in to volunteer and instead will teman my dad do stuff...but insya-Allah, will still try to catch One Flew Over The Cuckoo's nest , as it's prolly the *legitimate* last time i take advantage of student discounts...

Nip Tuck beckons..toodles!

Volunteering..

You had me
You lost me
You're wasted
You cost me
I don't want you here messing with my mind

- Joss Stone's "You Had Me" -

well, i think i hit my 10,000 step mark today...why? due to my ignorance and stubborness, i walked for about an hour looking for the Worldwrite organisation this morning..hehehe...ouch, sakit sebenarnya..the morning started out allright, washed some sheets, chatted with a few friends, had a huge breakfast..then i realised i might be late, so i started brisk walking to where i thought the organisation is located..now, in my kepala, the address is number 30, and the road i was walking on was the right road..plus, the staff at the organisation told me that it might look like a long road with no such place in sight, and a building with scaffoldings beside it..well, about half an hour of walking, the road i was on still looks deserted *supposed to be a good sign but also a scary one* and there's a building with scaffoldings....but no number 30! whoops, maybe on the other side of the road kot...

so, crossed the road, and walked in the opposite direction...still no no 30! darn! so, i called them up, and they told me where it is, but i was too involved in the fact that I WASN'T ON THE RIGHT ROAD AT ALL!!! so, i barely listened to the directions, and kicked myself silly for not looking through the A to Z before leaving the house...a few detours later, i met a shopkeeper with a ketayap on his head, and asked for directions to Millsfield Road...bless his heart, he told me where to go...and i walked..and walked ...and walked...and as i passed the back of my house, i cursed myself again...why, its prolly less than 5 minutes away!!! grrr....and true enough, the road did look as if it was not going to end, and there's no organisation-type building in sight..but i walked till the end, and finally found an old lodge with the sign " Worldwrite" on it...alhamdulillah...and going back home took me less than 10 minutes! grr...

Ceri, the director greeted me at the door *Nonz, she reminded me of Abe Jim! hehehe* and i met the lady i was reporting to..Marta, a pretty brunette from Madrid, who gave me my tasks...basically it was admin stuff, entering volunteer data into their volunteers database, and just sorting out the application forms..but Worldwrite is organising a charity celebrity auction on the 4th of December to raise some funds, so, there's added tasks for me..i was supposed to write letters to celebrity authors, and mail them..ehhehe, well not really write laa..mainly address them automatically from the Access program, and print out their address label..but it was like, celebrity names with their publisher's address! Robbie Williams, Ewan McGregor (diorang nie tulis buku ke??)..Trinny and Susannah (from What Not To Wear fame), Ainsley Harriot (Ready, Steady, Cook!), Graham Norton (my favourite camp host!), Joanna Lumley (who's soo posh)..and a few others..i was like, if they're gonna donate items for charity, i want to bid also! hhehehe...

time does fly, tup, tup..it was already 4.30p.m, and i was done for the day ...

*tergendala kejap sebab tengok NY-Lon*

ok, so, i'm coming in tomorrow and Friday..and my dad is coming in tomorrow...yay! and alhamdulillah, i got in touch with Kak Amni..afti, u should be grateful that i'm persistent :p after trying all their numbers numerous times, Abang Is finally picked up..itupun they told me that i was lucky they activated the phone after so long cuz they're passing the phone to Abang Is's brother..thank god! i hope i get to see them before i go back...and when i told kak Amni that i'm going back maybe for good, she went..NO! ehhehehe..*sigh*

so, mengantuk..but there's NY-Lon and reruns of Nip Tuck to watch..plus, menjadi cikgu grammar seperti dahulu kala to my ex-roomie who sent me this 2k plus mb file which is a big part of her dissertation for me to check...macam laa my grammar very the correct..as a matter of fact, i think i should just pass it over to the Totz, what do you say? she promised Nasi Lemak Lentoq... ;)

It was nice...

Wouldn't it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

- Beach Boys' " Wouldn't It Be Nice" -

well, two more have flocked their nests..Aishah @ Cik Mes and Masyoo is officially in the UK! and i obviously have pestered them to spend the weekend with me as soon as possible as we might never know when i'll fly away for good...

my room looks livable right now..i've gotten rid of all the junk before, and what's left now are my stuff and the stuff we'll leave for Yantey, who will be taking over this room once i leave..and last weekend, a new bed came, making my last few weeks sleeping in London a pleasurable experience..*sigh* dah lama tak tido atas katil...

last weekend was my last foray to the car boot sale in Mark's Gate..its already autumn in the UK, and pretty soon, the car booters will stop coming altogether to that luas-saujana-mata-memandang field in Mark's Gate..as a matter of fact, the rows and rows of stalls have dwindled by half as compared to during the sunny days of summer (where i burnt my chest due to hours and hours of walking and rummaging with a v-neck top)..but i did managed to get some stuff...my mom wanted a few things, but as i couldn't find any that fits the description, i settled for substitutes *speaking of substitutes, this is to remind me of something that i've been dying to share*..i bought a few books at the price of 10 and 50 pence each, very aware of the fact that mati hidup balik semula, i won't be able to get those prices on books back in KL..oh yeah, if ade, please, please, PLEASE let me know...then i'll no longer be salivating in Kinokuniya and wetting my court shoes...

for the past few days, i've been roaming and roaming the streets of London *now i know why my dad keeps coming back*...i went to Piccadilly Circus, Carnaby Street and the Camden Markets...i had white Maltesers while looking at souvenirs..i licked smooth and creamy vanilla ice cream cone with the Flake while listening to one Brit speaker at Hyde Park's Speaker's Corner command attention of quite a number of people while preaching about the world's oil/petroleum situation...i chosed a tree in Hyde Park and sat under it to just watch the world go by, and decided i'm better of sitting on a bench near the tasik while watching the ducks, yummy looking Brit men, and crazy rollerbladers, which i did..till the skies turned pink and i walked slowly to the bus stop, savouring the twilight..and missed my bus *darn*...

oh yeah...substitutes!!! please, please, please go to this site ---> www.malaysia.tv..and scroll down to the " Lite Moments" section and click on "Rene Choizz" by Jason...damn funny!! i laughed my head off in the school's computer lab while a few students looked at me funnily as i watched it..but this is just the wake-up call i need to tell me how great being a Malaysian is..yes, Manglish can do that to you, try spending a year without listening to a proper paragraph of one...anyhoo, this is my brother's latest employers...the site seems cool enough..so, go see! and this band Disagree, who played "Crumbs" for the site's background music? is soooooo the best! i would say the vocals are very Pearl Jam-ish, altho' Pearl Jam fans will so kill me..but i bet you guys in Malaysia have been hearing them on air for quite a bit kan? i think they're great! and wasn't one of them my friends boyfriend or ex? hmm....

oh yeah, i'm going to this organisation to do some volunteer work tomorrow..i'm kinda apprehensive as i do not know what they want me to do *i'm hoping its just entering data into their systems*..so wish me luck! in the job and in waking up early so i can walk to the place to reach at 11 am on the dot...

Free at last!!!!!

Let the music take your mind, ooh
Just release & you will find
You're gonna fly away
Glad you're goin' my way
I love it when we're cruisin' together
The music is played for love,
Cruisin' is made for love
I love it when we're cruisin' together

- Gwynneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis's " Cruisin" OST Duets -

i am so done with my Masters..woohooo!!!!!

finally, after a whole month of worrying, *not much of doing the work sangat pun* i've finally submitted my dissertation on Wenesday, met a bunch of classmates yang hantar last minute jugak hehehe...Coura, Cindy, Jing, and Kelly...i dunno what happened to the rest, but Debora is back in Brazil and Kai, blessed his cute heart, called me up on Monday night and goes " Dalie, you're my last resort!!! You're good with Microsoft Word right? How do we construct the contents page?!!" alahai budak comel nie, mane laa i tau..the first and the last time i saw it pun was when Debra did it for us..but i managed to figure it out, at 3 am laa tapinye..didn't think i should call him at that hour.. i do know that some of my classmates have deferred their submission, opting to submit in january..hence, graduating with the class of 2005..eee, tak nak gue!now, i'm just gonna pray hard that i've passed everything, and will be able to graduate dengan amannya...Aminn...

and yes, i no longer have a roomie...*BIG SNIFF*..Ainor went back to Malaysia for good on Tuesday, leaving me with this empty room all by my loneself..*sigh* who am i gonna do crazy things with? makan2 with? grocery shop with? retail therapy with? so sad...we didn't even get to do things for the last time together as she got back from Kelana Convoy on Sunday evening, and on Monday i was feverishly finishing up my dissertation in the school's com labs..her flight is on Tuesday night, and i was out the whole morning, printing and sending it for binding...i went along to the airport to send her off, as i no longer am bounded by the chains of my dissertation *MUAHAHAHAHAAH* and the cab ride to Heathrow was errm, smelly..*why do we always get smelly drivers?!!*..and when we reached Heathrow, she met a couple she got to know on Kelana Convoy who offered to carry some of her hand luggages *giler banyak*..so, after mocha frappucinos at Heathrow's Starbucks, while chatting to a lovely Chinese BM teacher from Kota Kinabalu, she went off...my one and only true roomie *sebelum nie takde roomie kan*...but since i'm going back soon, she's not too sniffy...besides, we already made plans for Nasi Lemak Lentok and Satay Hj Samuri..yay!

speaking of which, yes, i'm coming home...the initial plan was to stay till December, but as i couldn't get a job on a student visa, and it expires in OCt, and i want to celebrate Raya at home this time *like the spoilt brat i am*, my parents had to tip the last bit of the piggy bank to bring me home...*please pray that i get a good job to pay them off for every single moment i have here*...and will insya-Allah, be coming back in Dec for my award ceremony..

so, in the meantime, what have i been up to? well, the lady who owns 98% of our furnitures, came to pick ALL of them up last sunday, and i'm now surrounded by one cupboard (as opposed to two), one bookcase and one tv..remnants from last sunday's move..and tonnes of my stuff lying around....urrghhH!!!! i hate mengemasing if i don't know where everything's supposed to go! and my boxes from the shipping company has not arrived, so i'm very much tergantung....and my room is sooo empty..bare..devoid of any personality it once had...

other than that, i've been roaming around the house, went to town to catch One Flew over The Cuckoo's Nest, but didn't manage to cuz there's no student discount *darn!!!*, offered my service for some voluntary programme, and window shop like there's no tomorrow....but methinks my shopping days in London is over..i'll wait till i start earning and then i will come back with a vengeance! muahahahhahahah!!!

it feels really great to be stretching on my makeshift bed on a late morning, with the tv blaring in the background, thinking, what will i do today? heheheh...

but as for tomorrow, the hardware store beckons as the bulb in my room decided to go blinkers on me, resulting in me sitting in the dark while i type this out..thank god for UK's tv kerajaan...

Reality shows

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

- Dido's "White Flag" -

i think UK have taken reality shows up like 500 notches with the new series "Cosmetic Surgery Live" ..and yes, they are live..as in, u see real life breast augmentation happening, blood and all, buttocks inflation, botox injection, lip plumping, and the latest that i saw, calves implants..yup, calves have their own silicone implants now, long jelly like pieces to give your calves definition..were told that body builders and generally, men go for it...

i have not watched a whole show yet, even though it goes on every night..yes, every night at about 11 pm, you get to watch a bunch of surgeons in different rooms, plunging surgical instruments into their latest patients' bodies...as i have problems with watching NipTuck's bloody scenes, u can imagine my horror whenever i switch channels to Channel 5 malam2...maybe one of these days i'd bring myself to watch a full episode, so i can give a proper review...until then, i gotta get myself a strong tummy first...

on the other hand, Britain is getting their people to move..with reality-type shows like Big Nation, and dulu, Fit Farm...these shows stemmed from the recent report (in May, i think) that the next country with the highest rate of obesity after the US (highest rate there), is the UK..so, BBC came up with this show and a website to get people to eat healthily, exercise more frequently, and generally be healthy...

the thing is, it is easy to gain weight in the UK..trust me, i can't blame homesickness la, the food is good and CHEAP (if ur not dining out la), and the clothes come in big sizes and in the trendiest line..it's sooo easy to live here with my not-so-tiny-at-all body...

anyhoo, what they've come up with is this 10,000 steps a day programme..what you do is, you strap on a pedometer and it records how many steps u take..by the end of the day, u have to hit the 10,000 mark to ensure that you've move enough..basically, its a way to get Brits of their couches and soaps, and start moving...you can get one from BBC Uk and ITV for about GBP 3.99, and once, u can even get it by buying Kelloggs Special K cereal...

so, Big Nation is a reality type show that focuses on neighbours from a street in Birmingham..they're regular people, but many are overweight..one of the reasons was, food is within easy reach..less than 5 minutes away from the street they lived, there are lotsa takeways (chinese and indian), fish and chip shops, kebabs and others..so, what they do is motivate the whole street (and the whole of UK) to start taking the weight off...

its quite interesting actually..go to the website (www.bbc.co.uk/bigchallenge) and you get lotsa tips, like how to exercise while watching telly, and how skipping ropes are good for you, etc..and on the show, they have a dietician, fitness instructor and psychologist who zooms in on certain ppl that really need help...but i think the whole thing is great, cuz it shows that there are lotsa people out there battling this weight problem, and if you're shy about it, you're not the only one..they even suggest you get a friend or neighbour on the program so you'd have company and motivate each other..

i think kat malaysia they should create such programmes..it brings kesedaran, and it is healthy..it does not focus on oh-how great you'll look, but it focuses on the healthy benefits..most of them having the major problems are married or middle aged ones, some on their way to certain diseases and sickness, therefore no anorexic cases here...and it deals with your self-esteem, and emotions..plus, it wouldn't hurt to get dietary and fitness tips kan?

i think i'm gonna get myself one of those pedometers la..

Reborn..

The boys watch the girls while the girls watch the boys who watch the girls go by,
Eye to eye, they solemnly convene to make the scene,
Which is the name of the game, watch a guy watch a dame on any street in town,
Up and down and over and across, romance is boss...

- Andy William's " Music to Watch Girls By" -

and today, my pc breathe once again..
unfortunately, it took me a breathless trip up the hill to a pc shop 3 bus stops away on foot, an old pair of sneakers that resulted in bloody heels, sore shoulders..only to realise that i could have done it all by myself at home..

the major overhaul, that is...

i felt stripped bare...

i lost everything i've ever saved on my pc...my pictures, my videos, my desktop backgrounds, ALL my songs...my tiny identity...

all because i needed to work this weekend memandangkan my deadline is next wednesday...

however, hikmahnya, i'm back online..on YM and MOST IMPORTANTLY, on MSN Messenger!! finally!!!

*sigh* but i do miss my Sham Kamikaze desktop *glums*

to the new aunty, if u want an update on NY-Lon, let me know...and tell me, kenapa si Michael tu still appear so desirable even tho he looks soooo common? he's the kinda guy we would bump in at Sainsburys!

like the new layout? i'm just in the mood :)

Things on my mind..

I've been watching, I've been waiting
In the shadows for my time
I've been searching, I've been living
For tomorrows all my life

- The Rasmus's "In The Shadows" -

These are just random things on my mind...pay no heed if they don't make any sense...

- The nearer i get to my departure date (of which, i'm not even sure yet when) the more i discovered things to do; more theatre shows, opportunities for volunteer work, more new shows on tv, more British men in suits with a 5 o'clock shadow (yummms!!) striding home/to the pubs after office hours to look at...

- Ok, how can they take such a sickly sweet and pre-teen song (The Archies Song), and turn it into something that Hugh Hefner (or any rapper with loadsa scantily clad models running around in their videoclips) proud? i'm talking about Nasty Girls! omigod....nothing, i repeat, nothing is sacred anymore...*sobs*...next thing we know, they'll prolly make a nasty ditty from our "bangun pagi, gosok gigi, cuci muka, pakai baju..." song..which reminds me, why got no mandi in that song? eh, kita bukan mat salleh ok..but maybe, back then, the air is much cooler that kids can run around without getting sweaty, hence the kiddy pong...

-oh yeah, i saw us on Ready, Steady, Cook! heheheh...itupun, i totally forgot about the screening and just tuned in..in time to see us with the red tomato/green peppers card..eeks! it was the Olympic medallist episode..and we were like paling depan..:p and no, Tina, u don't look fat..well, none of us looked any bigger than what we look like in real life..almost debunking the fact that the camera puts on 10 pounds...

- I can't get the image of Demetrius (Ben Hicks) from Midsummer NIght's Dream, when he crawled on the stage, and groaned in urrm, ecstasy whenever Helena talks of her heart/head/hands out of my head...sooooooooooooooo sexy...*drools* some more got moustache (i'm no fan of moustaches, but on him...) *groans*...

- My brother has grown..no, no, i know he has ballooned, but somehow, mentally, he's no longer the kid who thinks my mom is wrong all the time..on a recent phone conversation, he lectured me on how 'dangerous' it is to be in Malaysia due to the increased rape cases, and whatnots..he even cited statistics..!! what is even more important is the glaring fact that i have not been doing my job as a big sister, as he so diplomatically pointed out..*sigh* how true..i guess i can't expect my little sister to not envy what i did (even tho i'm pretty much toya!!), and can't wait till she reach the age that she's able to do those things as well..now, i wish, i didn't do half of the things i did when i was younger...i just hope that my siblings are smart and matured enough to do the right things and make the right decisions..what's cute tho is how like my Mom my brother is turning out to be..and possessing an admirable attitude regarding his work..i'm so proud of him..

- Doing my research, i find that some students, even after spending years abroad studying, still can't string a proper english sentence...and they were sponsored as well..all i can say to this is...*SIGH*

- i've added a few new links...

1.Chi, is a trendy fashionista chicka, who terrorised high school by being the person she was :p, no laa, i'll be nice..she did belanja me spaghetti carbonara once kan, Kai, kan...all, i can remember back when we were classmates was, the time we went over to Choup's place without her knowing, and she almost didn't want to let us in, screaming for the whole world to know..hehehe....

2. Zarique...nice dude i got to know over the year..and no, i've not met him before..but he did promise coffee ;)

3. Magic..aah, long lost olde friend of mine..this was wayy back before i even wore spectacles, and my hair wasn't even undergoing transition to the tangled curly mess that i have, perched on my head right now..back then, she was known to me a Majidah, skinny, really fair, and quiet..but the best part was..she was the first person to say something (hence became my first friend) to me back in Standard 1 when i got transfered into the Subang school...i think she offered me her pencil..see, an Angel even in Std 1..we lost touch after Standard 3 i think, but she always managed to track me down..terror kan? and she's a great writer, angst(oklaa, a bit) and all..that i'm most ashamed that she found out about this blog..we shall meet up, insya-Allah, soon...

4. Dina Zaman...the one lady i look forward to every week during my teenage years...for her column, Dina's Dalca in NST's Lifestyle paper dolu-dolu...looky, looky, she's gotta blog! my days are no longer bleak.. :)

- Ooh, and a phone call from Ferr on Sunday! thanks babes! i went almost a year without anyone calling me up, and you're the first! it made my day :) fresh gossips and a familiar voice..*blissful sigh*

*egads, sun is in my eyes..toodles!*

A thousand leaves fell...

We've been on the run
Driving in the sun
Looking out for #1
California here we come
Right back where we started from

- Phantom PLanet's "California" OST The OC -

a thousand leaves must have fallen throughout Midsummer NIght's Dream last night at Regents PArk's open theatre venue within the Queen MAry's Gardens..although the audience shivered at the heavy winds whipping the trees into a shedding frenzy, covering the stage with rejects of summer, it only adds to the atmosphere and ambience of the whole play..in short, the crew and cast had a little help from Mother NAture... :)

but, i was most glad that i made the effort to attend one of the best theatre OUT-ing that i've ever attended..the fact that i went alone, did not dampen my spirits, and instead, i made friends with the gentle elderly lady sitting next to me, as she described how she named her house back in Sussex, after consulting her Malaysian friends...." Madrumah" ..please laugh, i did...

the play was fantabulous! the only Shakepearean work that i've ever read (and studied) was Macbeth, and that was for SPM, so i was a little apprehensive before purchasing the tickets (i got one of the best seats in the whole place tho, at the cheapest price..the perks of being a student again!) so, i thought i'd have to listen properly for the dialogue to be able to understand the plot (especially since i didn't have the time to Google the story beforehand)..but, it was executed in such a way, that i found myself laughing along, and actually being able to understand more than half of it!

the stage were really, really close to the seats, no mike in sight, depending only on the ability of the actors to throw their voices..when the lights dimmed, the natural light from the skies act as background to the whole set...the winds were quite hard last night, and at times, we couldn't make out sangat what the actors were saying because of the thousand leaves rustling..it was quite an experience...surrounded by trees, and the sky as your ceiling...really unforgettable..

in short, and in my own words, Midsummer Night's Dream (which was set in the Edwardian period..meaning..remember what Dick Van Dyke wore in MAry Poppins? red and white striped jacket, with white pants, and that flat hat? yup, that period) starts of at Athenian Duke Theseus's announcement of the wedding to his captive queen, Hippolyta, during which Egeus, father of fair Hermia, stomps in to announce that his daughter would be married to Demetrius, or else suffer death or sentenced to life in a convent (an Athenian law)..the thing is, Hermia is in love with Lysander (the sangat comel Jordan Frieda, son of the singer Lulu, and hairstylist John Frieda, who has a range of haircare products that has saved my curly mess many a times before..if i knew earlier that his father was THE John Frieda, i might have stood and shouted, " i used your father's products!!" but then again, so does half of London :p)..alkisahnye, Lysander is equeal to Demetrius in everything, looks, galantry, wealth..but Hermia's father still nak die kahwin ngan Demetrius..now, si Demetrius nie pulak, dulu telah mereject best friend Hermia, Helena, sbb syok kat Hermia..so, Helena is devastated, and has been chasing after Demetrius ever since....Lysander made plans with Hermia to fled to another country (to escape the Athenian law) to be married in err, his country, i think...so, off they went into the forest later that night, and in the forest, slept for a while...

at the same time, a group of craftsmen in Athens is putting up a play for the wedding, and they provided the most laugh! i am still laughing as i type this out..there was Russ Abbot as Bottom (the funniest backbone to the whole production)..so, the play they are about to put up is about Pyramus and Thisbe..a little bit like Romeo and Juliet, really ,sbb dua2 died of unnecessary death in the end..so, they went to the woods to rehearse, that night also..

Oberon (who looks like a brunette Legolas) and Titania are King and Queen Fairies of the woods, and they've been having quarrels over a child that Titania had in her custody (Oberon is jealous i think), and nature has suffered because of their fight..Oberon has Puck, as his fairy, and Titania has a merry band of fairies following her around..btw, the fairies in this version looked like ragamuffins with bald heads, and really funky outfits..back in Athens, Helena found out that Lysander and HErmia are in the woods, and in spite, tells Demetrius that, so he went chasing after them, with Helena in close pursuit..Helena, in this version, is blonde, tall and gangly, while Hermia is brunette, petite and really cute..

Oberon discovered a flower called love-in-idleness that, when sprinkled on to a person's eyes, will make him/her fall in love with the next thing he/she sees..so, nak balas dendam kat Titania, he made PUck sprinkle it on her eyes, while she was sleeping...and since Oberon has witnessed Helena's undying love and for Demetrius, and how he rejects it so, he instructs Puck to sprinkle it on Demetrius eyes, when he had fallen asleep after tiring from Helena's chase..but Puck, tersalah, and tersprinkle on Lysander's eyes...

when the merry band of Craftsmen came to rehearse in the woods, Puck telah membuat naya and turned Bottom into a donkey (ass)..and his friends fled from him...he fell asleep near Titania...so, guess what Titania fell for when she opens here eyes?! hehehe..funny!! and Lysander, saw Helena upon waking up, and immediately fell for her! when Oberon found out that PUck made that mistake, he instructs Puck to go sprinkle on Demetrius eyes..now si Demetrius pulak tergila-gila kan HElena! damn funny!!!!!!! both were chasing Helena, acting like "spaniels", siap gaduh2 with each other..Helena tension la sebab she thinks they are making fun of her...Hermia, pulak, cam blur, cuz she didn't really think Lysander was in love in HElena..so, it was a surreal situation for all of them...especially with Titania falling in love with an ass!

and, in the end, Oberon realised that what he did was not right, and sent PUck to correct everything..and the events which took place in the night, remained..just a dream..Lysander in the end ended up with Hermia, and Demetrius fell for Helena...aww...and Oberon and Titania, danced together in the woods, eyes only for each other...*sigh* at times like this do i believe in those sappy romantic scenes...

the best part was the play the Craftsmen put up for the wedded ones..soo funny! i can't describe it, but i was laughing my eyes out, and so did some of the actors on stage...and during Puck's last monologue, the lights went down, and the winds rustled the leaves even more, making us seem like we're actually witnessing Puck in his natural forest surroundings..beautiful...

i'm actually regretting the fact that i didn't attend the rest of the shows...last night was the last night and show, and since they're not coming back till next year, RUss Abbot made a small speech, and introduced the director, Ian Talbot, to us..it was really, really great...even the actress playing Hermia looked as if she's gonna cry (she's still in training btw)...the audience, all 1200 of us, left the park via the only entrance out at about 11pm..thank god..altho i did hurry to keep up with the couple in front of me..

am gonna try and come back for more shows, insya-Allah, panjang umur, murah rezeki..but i won't be able to make it for Dejavu at Istana Budaya,tho....who's going for that? watch it for me please...

*Yawn*

I don't want to be the one
Who battles always choose
Cuz inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
I know it's not alright
So I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit tonight

- Linkin Park's "Breaking The Habit" -

help! i can't stop yawning! i always have this thing where i'll yawn whenever it gets too cold (read: air-conditioned rooms)..back during my degree days, i used to yawn my head off in class, so much so that everytime the lecturer swings his/her head to look my way/direction/general area i'm located in class, i'd be yawning...

urrghhh!! i can't seem to concentrate! and i hate NOT having my pc to work on at home..i work odd hours, as in, i do my work last minute, and having my laptop on my bed really helps! ugh, so geram..

anyhoo, this is for the benefit of very few people in the Malaysia part of the wrold right now, so, u can prolly stop reading it after a few more sentences..oooh, but kan, does anyone know anyone who would want to watch 'Midsummer Nights Dream' at the Regents PArk open theatre? i wouldn't mind going alone, its going back home through the parks that scares me the most..i'm not sure if the lights are gonna be on, and what if no one takes my route? i don't wanna be running all the way to the bus stop *its a long run btw* and i'm not a fast enough runner...so, anyone, anyone? or else, i have to forgo this *sobs* and hope that next year i'll make enough money to visit the UK again during summer...then again, a consolation would be to watch ' One Flew Over The CUckoo's Nest' starring the yummylicious Christian Slater (who's playing the role played by Jack Nicholson in the movie version)...

ok, kepada cousin ku, dan pihak-pihak berkenaan...review and summary of 'Ny-Lon' and 'Nip Tuck'

ok, Ny-Lon kan, (which, for the benefit of readers who are still reading but do not know what i'm talking about) is this really cool show/series about translatlantic romance between a young lady (music teacher cum record store assistant)in New York with a strappy lad (a banker) in London...diving in, ok, it opens at the record store where Edie is working at, her boss wants her to work for the weekend, and her ex-bf wants her to come for a gig or jam or sumthing..so, she was like? what about me? what about what i want? then they (boss, ex-bf, weird roomate) thinks she's too predictable, control freak who does not like surprises..so, she bengang laa..and decided to go to London for the weekend, as so happens, her black American friend in London, yang lawyer mula2 tu, is having a housewarming party and ajak her along (btw, she's having a relationship/married, notsure, with this Londoner) to her house kat St Johns Woods Terrace lagi u (for the benefit of Tina Ninja :p) so, she went, and didn't inform anyone...waa, feisty gitu..so, when she arrived London she called the guy laa, si Michael tu..but that monkey pulak, leaves his answering machine on and tak nak talk to her..so, she talk about meeting up while, he, his Indian housemate and younger sister listened.but picked up at the last minute, and talk to her, but distantly ..(humph) ..apparently, he still sakit hati with her cuz she "supposedly" dumped him masa he went to NY in the previous show (remember?)..but his friend thinks she's perfect for him, as in attractive, attainable, and no commitments..(or sumthing like that)..

so, on the way nak gi tgk his nephew play football, he left a voice message on her phone, saying he wants to meet her..and, as always in NYLON, kita tak tau camane she knows, but she ended up in the field where they were...so, suka2 balik, went back home together..started to get intimate, but he said something wrong..like, he wants to analyze the relationship, and she don't want, and she goes , does this thing have to get too heavy? and he went, oo ok...*confirmed in his mind about the no commitment thingy*..then his mangkuk ayun sister and friend walks in, and the sister goes, "so, this must be karen..".. no surprises, Edie walks out..cheh...(don't worry, i also dunno who this Karen is)

so, she went back to her friend's place for the homewarming party..looking all nice with her red dress...as she was mingling she saw him, MIchael, in the crowd,..she was like, huh? double take, and went to him..that monkey pulak tengah borak2 dgn this buxom blonde...so, she actually halau the girl away..like, what are you looking at? go! (fuyyoo, soo girl power like that!)..then asked him, who's Karen? and he goes, Karen is the girl i slept with last night (cue, gasp!) and she went, u slept with her last night?..and he went, yeah, but she didn't get an orgasm..she couldn't help but smile, and said, how do you know? and he goes, cuz she told me..then everyone sengih2...(like,sooo easy la kan)..then they go and err, make love in the bedrooms...

in the meantime, everyone in NY is looking for her, then the ex-bf cari the roomate at this bar she's working in, and asked her something (audience dunno what also) sebab camera terus cut to London...btw, Michael was not even invited to the party, so he turned up wearing casual clothes, while everyone wore formal...when asked, he told Edie, i drove to ST JOhns Woods Terrace and followed the corpses..

alamak, can't remember much after that..but she did complain that long-distance relationship is hard to maintain, like mahal and all..eg. the flight ticket cleaned her out for the whole month..and he goes you lied to me, sbb she told him earlier that she got a cheap flight..so, i think he offered to pay, but she wanted it to be a two-way thing..then there was this corny thing when he went back to his place, and check on his nephew in bed, and the nephew, went, are you going to move to America? and he goes, listen, no matter where i am, no matter who i'm with, i'm always gonna be here..oh, and the ex-bf tu rupa2nye nak tengok the bed on which his brother died, and he broke down, and the blonde housemate comforted him, but macam nak start make out, but he left..i think the girl's sex-crazed or sumthing, sebab baru apgi tu she was with someone else on the same bed (how creepy)..then, i tak igt sgt..so sorry tina dear..

BUT, when she went backto NY,she got to thinking...then she picked the phone up, and call him..and agreed to have the relationship (he smiled, over the phone, aww..) but set 3 syarats : 1. no infidelity, 2.no lies, 3. notalking about his job..so, everything was allright in the end..

and, saving the best for last Tina dear, she walked along the river (which river is in NY?) and smiled sambil looking up at the moon, and as the screen splits, he walks along River Thames across St Paul's Cathedral, and smiled at the moon...(i know ur waiting for this bit one..)

habiss....

too tired to update on NIp TUck...but, in short, Julie discovered she's pregnant, but in the end had a miscarriage, and Dr Troy had sex with Dr Santiago (their in-house psychologist tu) *i soo dah agak that's gonna happen sooner or later* but she just left him abruptly after that..no scandals involving his son aka Michael Jackson lookalike this week , hehhehe...

PC ku dalam kenangan

Kini hanyalah tinggal kenangan
Tiada ku rasa dalam genggaman
Hanya terdaya mengimbas semua
Kenangan yang lalu
Tiada kata ucapan di bibir
Tak ku sangka kali terakhir kini
KAu tidak akan kembali lagi

- Feminin's "Kini" -

i'm updating in school, while listening to Era, so sue me if i put the lyrics to the song i'm currently listening to :p..besides, the lyrics kinda sums up what i'm feeling right now...no, not of a long-lost partner, or cat...

*sniff* my computer is roosaaakkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*runs off to sob uncontrollably*

dunnolaa what happened, but now, my pc will start, and before the desktop can properly develop, it will display an error message for a split second *not enough time for me to read pun!* and will promptly restart....last night, it restarted itself for more than 20 times before i took pity on it, and unplug the power source..i have cabut-ed all external devices, printer cable, mic cable, err, but not the mouse..i even unplugged the network cable...but nothing there...and i'm resigned to the fact that my pc is dying a slow death...

nasib baik i have backups of my dissertation, alhamdulillah..unfortunately, as my roomie's pc is also having its own problems, i have to resort to do my work in school..urgh! and do all my blogging here as well..

oh well, there's gotta be a hikmah kan?

anyhoo..oh yeah, Ready, Steady, Cook!!! it was real cool..well, as cool as a rancangan Kuali can get :p the 3 of us, me, AInor and my cousin, Tina Ninja startED out early at about 11 am *after the OC* to get to the BBC studio in East Putney in SOuth London..bought a travelcard, and even dawdling around, we were quite early..singgah kat High St Kensington for a jalan2 and Ainor dropped her cardigan, but managed to find it back...err, anyhoo, we arrived just nicely in East Putney, took a bus and looked out for Wandsworth Plains, where the BBC studios are located..but we missed it, so, took a detour and finally arrived..when we arrived at the studio a lady wearing a Ready, Steady, Cook! t-shirt with a clipboard took our details, told us that we'll be there for 2 recordings and told us to wait in the waiting area..we were told to let the elderlies in first..we were like, elderly? rupa-rupanye, there's like a busload of senior citizens watching the show with us! heheheh..sooo cute, all with their white hair, and chatters..we went into the waiting area, and were told that there were drinks and biscuits, but hampeh, biscuits dah habis :(

when it was time to enter, they gave us each the card with a picture of a red tomato and a green pepper on one side..masa tu dah excited habis dah, tak sabar nak vote using those cards..heheh...me and Ainor sat on the frontmost and rightmost seats with Tina behind us...then a host named, Martin Gold *with Rod STewart's haircut* came out to greet us , and basically be our host to entertain us in between takes..he was a nice dude, with a thick undefinable accent, making jokes and generally made us feel comfortable..he picked on a few old ladies and played around with them..the thing is, he was asking where all of us came from, and i know he was itching to find out where the 3 of us came from..he kept swinging glances at us..hehehe..kitorang pun apalagi, sengih all the way..i mean, we look totally different from the rest kan..and he kept dropping hints like, " we come from all parts of the world now, don't we? " and looked at us..haha!ur not getting any from us buster! :p

when Ainsley came in, we were all clapping and cheering, and i was like, omigod, Ainsley! in flesh! less than 5 metres away! he was charming, made us felt welcomed and even kissed the regulars..awww....such a sweetie..and soo tinggi...his trademark campiness kinda shines through which was so cute! hehehe..the chefs for the first session was Leslie, this lady who keeps on singing opera-style whenever she runs out of time..and Nick, the guy who almost never wins :p the guests were housemates from Cambridge..the show started, and it was exactly like on Tv, except with the smells!! and when it was time to vote, we were told to place the card with our chosen votes, while facing the cameras with a big smile, hehe..i voted for Nick this time,as i don't quite like Leslie :p and well ,the food Nick prepared didn't contain pork :p we were practically salivating by the end of the session...and a few lucky people in the audience got the Ready, Steady, Cook! plastic bags with the picture of a red tomato and green peppers on either side, that the guests used to bring the raw goods in..but with Ainsley's and the chefs' signatures on them! soo lucky! and after recording, the food just went to waste as they wheeled it away...*sigh*

we got a 15 minutes break in between the recordings, and we flocked back to the waiting area..this time, there's biscuits! but as everyone was grabbing more than their share * mana taknye, lapar sumer orang!* one resourceful lady, went to the back and found the large box of biscuits, apa lagi..everyone grabbed them biscuits! heheh...

for the 2nd recording, we got a pleasant surprise..the guests were British Olympic medallists! like, wow! *even though i tak kenal pun them* one was Sara err something, and she won a gold medal for some sailing sport..angling or sumthing? ..and the other guy, i tak ingat also the name, but he won a silver medal..so, it was kinda star studded jugak laa..and one of my favourite chefs were ther as well..TOby! sooo comel *of course i voted for Toby!*..we sat at the other end this time, with me at the left most, near the table where the goodie bag will be unpacked..that means, i'm the nearest to the chefs..and Toby! *sigh* anyway, as they were preparing for the recording, these 2 floor guys were hanging around near me, and when they left the floor, this one guy hand me a Ready, STeady, Cook! plastic bag!! eekkkss!!!! i was soooo happy that i didn't remember if i said thanks or not! *whoops* but since we were itching to get a plastic bag each, and alhamdulillah, i got one! ehehhe...masa vote lak, the camera was so close to me..conscious habis beb..takleh kejer jadi tv host nie haha! and so lenguh, must senyum lama2..senget habis dah my smile :p

the recordings ended at about 5.45pm, and everyone rushed for the loo! heheheh...chatted with the lady who sat next to me, and she told me that they've been to quite a number of shows, Des and Mel for instance..that's one thing i like about the UK,they care about the elderlies and senior citizens, ensuring that they have activities to attend to fill up their time with and providing transportations, not to mention various discounts for them...and another thing, back in Malaysia, for the shows that i went, aka Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and Roda Impian, there's no one in between takes that filled up the slot..we got Halim Othman, joking around, trying his best to make us laugh *which worked sometimes* and on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, we got that Ash guy who was actually in charge of producing the show, and in between tried to chat to us, Jalaluddin Hassan just tried to look dashing DOUBLE URRGGHHHHH!!!*..MArtin Gold's job, was specifically, keeping us entertained with his jokes and stories, which was cool..the only show that i've attended in Malaysia that has that concept was the AIM awards..we had Salleh Yaacob, HArun Salim BAchik, and the comedic lots up on stage with small skits, which i thought was good cuz then we got a side-entertainment worthy of our positions in the PWTC hall..

it was a great outing, was glad that i found about it..its one nice ending to my time here in the UK..we took a bunch of pictures before leaving, of course.. and then Tom Cruise came in to the picture :)

I SAW TOM CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay
A million miles away

- Bruce Springsteen's "Secret Garden" OST Jerry Maguire"

migod, migod, migod, migod, migod....i saw Tom Cruise!!!!!!!! and i shook hands with Jamie Foxx, who is of course a has-been, but takpelaa, cuz my brother mesti jealous giler..muahahaha..and i also saw Jada Pinkett!!!!!

woohoo!!!! the perks, the perks babeh of being here...*blissful sigh*

wait, i still can't believe i saw TOM CRUISEEE!!!!!!!!!! *screams*

well, scream i did when i saw him :p

what happened was, we, me, my cousin and Ainor, were on our way home from the Ready, Steady, Cook recording, and we decided to pray at Goodge St..once there, we got a call from Kak Awanis and Kak Zie *who, btw, are staying with us for a few days* telling us to get our butts to Leicester Square as they are, with the other hundreds of people, standing by the barriers erected for the premiere of his new movie, Collateral..or something like that..come on, i saw TOM CRUISE, i can't be bothered with his movie title!!

so, there we were, sighing, almost squealing, and resigned at the fact that we are not able to see him..then we decided to go to Lillywhites, cuz Ainor wanted to get more jerseys for her ppl...so, we toddled off to hop on the bus....alkisahnye, we got on the wrong bus which didn't stop at Piccadilly Circus..instead, we got off at Leicester Square station and proceeded to go to Lillywhites on foot, crossing Leicester Sq...

alkisahnye lagi, met Kak Zie and Kak Awanis on the way, and they were practically jumping up and down at the fact that they saw him *TOM CRUISE*...and my cousin, practically ran to the crowd at the barriers in front of the Empire Theatre where the premiere was held..i thought i was not a big enough fan, but as the crowd screamed, "Tom, Tom!!"..i find myself, smushing in with the crowd that has got to be like, 5 feet taller than i am...and i strained, and strained my neck *and breathed in scent of a thousand sweaty human flesh*, but still couldn't see a thing *cept for the back of people's necks!* Ainor, on the other hand, couldn't get a decent image on her digital camera, and decided to just look at the big screen erected at one corner of Leicester Sq, where we can see the hosts interviewing the stars...

alkisahnye, we thought he went in, so we decided to walk to Lillywhites..but along the way, people are still screaming "Tom, Tom!", so we decided to go as close as possible to the barriers...long story short, we find ourself at the frontmost, but quite a distance away from the hosts and the front entrance of the cinema...and nobodies, were walking down the red carpet..we were like, nie either press, tak pun, orang2 yang menang tiket dpt tgk premier..

i think we remained in that position for at least, 1/2 hour...but we did see Jada Pinket on the other side, being interviewed by MTV and whatnots..she's pretty, and sooo petite!! kecik! she was wearing this flowy long yellow dresss..but no Fresh Prince in sight! daaymn! i, on the other hand, kept hearing ppl call out, "jAmie, jamie!"...and i was like, Oliver? you know, Jamie Oliver, the celebrity chef...but then again, why would ppl be screaming his name??

then, as the crowd near the hosts parted, i saw...TOM!!!!!! joking around with the rest, in his suit, with a dark shirt, looking well-pressed and damn fine!!!!!!!!! (tapi pendek la)

and, i lost it by screaming...."TOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

hehehe, nasib baik the rest followed suit...we were all screaming, "Tom, Tom, TOm!!!!"..wile waving madly..trust me, waving MADLY....he turned and waved, and we screamed some more *thank god we were at the most front of the barrier, as ppl were pushing us from the back!"..then Tom went to the press area where they interviewed him, with his back to us..*call him out some more*....and while, gazing at his back, suddenly, ppl on my right are going, "JAmie, JAmie!"...

rupa2nye, Jamie Foxx were coming down our way giving out autographs!! eeekkk!!! so, got the camera out, and snap his pic *altho, prolly kabur, and sebab malam, and he's gelap, so ..*...when he came to me, his pen poised, gue dengan tanpa segan silunye, "Jamie, can i just shake your hand, man..." and i actually shook hands with him!!! oklaa, has been...but (!!!!!)...

more screamings after that for Tom, until he went in for his premiere....*sigh*

alhamdulillah :)

i'm actually not a Tom Cruise fan, and admittedly, the only full-fledged movie featuring him that i've watched was Jerry MAguire, but tonight...i'm a fan.....

*blissful sigh* ...and i thought i'd prolly never do something like this kat London, only in Malaysia :p

today was a real celebrity spotting day...will update on Ready, Steady, Cook as well, real soon..tonight, i'm just happy.... :)

p/s: watch Collateral for me and tell my what its all about eh?
