Busted feet and potato salad

What if I had never let you go
Would you be the man I used to know
If I'd stayed
If you'd tried
If we could only turn back time
But I guess we'll never know

- Kate Winslet's "What If"-

i'm currently waiting for Maghrib...since today is Hari Ashura, i decided to fast..plus, its a moday, plus i've not ganti-ed some of my puasas, plus, i need to learn how to starve...again....Ainor and me have just finished preparing our buka puasa spread...she made lasagne, and i made potato salad, and we're gonna have some oven fries, and coleslaw with that..and she made the last batch of cekodok pisang...none of us could taste anything, so we're just relying on our throws of bits nd pieces into the pan..so, we don't know how anything taste like...btw, that was my first attempt at making potato salad...hope it turns out good...i mean, i know it seems like an easy dish to do, but i'm still working my way round the kitchen...but this ditzy klutz just now, burnt her fingers pouring hot water to lasagne sheets she was holding, straight from the electric kettle..so smartlaa kan...*rolls eyes* ..ouch, but it does hurt..cam stinging gitu....

saturday was a feet-busting day as i accompanied Ainor to get some souvenirs and stuff at Oxford St...we arrived at about 11 a.m. , and finally left at 8 p.m....itupun, sebab we're rushing to catch CSI Miami *oh, why do they have to screen it on saturday nights!? why can't they put us out of our misery and just screen CSI and CSI Miami back-to-back?? grr...* anyhoo, it was damn tiring as we practically walked all the way up to Marble Arch...after prayers at Goodge St, we hunted for a place to have lunch...don't know why, but we were thinking of fish and chips, and i was lamenting on the fact that i have not tasted a genuine british fish and chips since i set foot in this country....so, we were in the bus, thinking where can we find decent fish and chips within the region, and while on the bus, we were like, in our hunger, ok, u watch that side of the road, and i'll watch this side of the road..we were carefully scrutinizing each and every shop that went by, and suddenly we stopped at this bus stop in front of Oasis, this Arab restaurant near Tottenham Court Road...i was looking at the menu, but it was too far to see if they had fish and chips, but luckily they had large pictures behind the counter..."ada fish and chips!!"..sepantas kilat, before the conducter could shut the doors, we jumped off and rushed into the shop! hehehe...then it was a silent lunch, as we hungrily filled our tummies...man, were we stuffed! it was quite good actually...quite yums! lepas tu pulak, in about 1/2 hour, we spotted McDonalds, and AInor was like, milkshakes!! so, off we went into McDonalds...budak nie craving tak habis2, hehe...anyhoo, it was a good thing that we were in McDs (and got seats..) cuz it started to rain, quite heavily, and as the temperature dipped, raindrops turned into flakes of snow....miss pandai here, forgotten her umbrella, so we waited till it stopped before going off again...

just before we left for home, we took a bus to Piccadily Circus, sebab nak gi Chinatown...i wanted to look for Kicap Manis, and Ainor wanted sengkuang to make popiahs...btw, what are sengkuangs in English? is it water chestnut? or giant water chestnuts? oh well....there were a couple of guys playing a prank on passerby...one guy was just striking a pose in front of a big bag of rubbish..*i seriously didn't know what he intended to do* but whenever anyone walks past the rubbish bag, out popped anther young man who went "BOO!"...err, allright....anyhoo, a few girls screamed and all...heh...cheap thrills..hehhe..ooh, met Idz ad his gf, Juáa..so, chatted for a bit..they're waiting for a few friends, at a supposed gerbang..but there are 3 gerbangs! so, we left them figuring out which gerbang they should go to...got my Kicap Manis, and Ainor bought 3 cans of A&W Root Beer....

btw, last weekend, we were at Walthamstow, at our favourite ayam shop, wondering how much ayam should we buy and all..when suddenly this indian guy behind the counter, turned to serve us, and as we were about to open our mouth to tell him what we want, he suddenly said, "malaysia kat mane? " hehhehe..lerr, malaysian rupenye...i dah agak dah! i was thinking about how he doesn't look so foreign, and he kinda look familiar, in a i've-seen-this-look-before...anyhoo, he said he couldn't get a job anywhere, so had to resort to working in the ayam shop...humpph...kat malaysia, takde kerje ka? he's not that great at chopping up ayams anyway..too much fat hanging round!!

karina called to say she's coming to London for the weekend..yaay! can go round, round aiight! so sorry for not being able to go to the IC night..so shy laa..! *blush* anyhoo, am looking forward to her coming..btw, cousin dearest, why don't u come over for the weekend as well....? *hint, hint*...besides, AInor's going back next weekend * jealousnye!! but she deserves it after all those courseworks* ..then i can come and visit you at Birmingham! ok tak, ok tak? *grins*

called ferr on sunday afternoon...its been a while since i've heard her high voice..hehehhe...an hour long gossip session ensued, hehehe.....best, best! miss u too, girl!! altho' i think the conversation has a few seconds lag...grr..tried to call elly earlier on, but spent like 5 minutes yelling, boleh dengar tak, boleh dengar tak? and she going, pochoy! mochoy! tochoy! *sigh*...am missing this bunch of ppl..can't wait till i get a proper conversation with them....ooh, and a date with whichever one of them to our regular uni-days food haunts....interested, dears?

am gonna go meet my lecturer, Graham, tomorrow...hope he has nice things to say bout my proposal...*gulp*...
