Surreal..but nice
She
May be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She
May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
- Elvis Costello's "She" OST Notting Hill -
Remember that line from Notting Hill? well, that was how my weekend was...surreal, but nice...well, the surreal part is a tiny one, the nice part is the rest of the weekend....
Surreal was me, waking up at 5.15 a.m. on a SATURDAY MORNING (!!) to check out Next's one-day-only half-price sale....well, who asked them to put up big notices saying that they'll be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m? not exactly MY fault then if i deprived myself of my sleep *shrugs* hehehheeh....
**btw, that was the beginning of my entry LAST WEEK and i will now try to continue my best to provide a chronological entry that will illustrate my hectic, hectic week**
sheesh, sampai tak boleh bernafas dibuatnye....anyways, after the Next sale, 2 saturdays ago, i receive a phone call from Huda, inviting me to sleep over her place..what a sweetie! thanks dear! so, off i went...and that night, had dinner with really, really nice people consisting of Huda, Shima, Yusra, Tasha, Kina, Athirah, Ayie, and Apar..did, i miss anyone? anyway, had dinner at this indian restaurant in Bangla Town...quite an experience, i must say...never before have i been approached by soo many indian men! well, the group i was with, that is...the result: relly scrumptious dinner, of about 5 pounds each...quite a good deal, i say...went back to Huda's, tried to watch Something's Gotta Give, but was too tired to due to the early morning shopping spree...of which i only acquired a cardigan..cheh! in the morning, after saying goodbye to Huda, who went off to paint a playground in West London, i stumbled off home, and had a really long nap....
Monday and Tuesday was a blur of getting ready for the arrival of my sister and my best friend, Eileen...did the groceries, cleaned the room, finished up my assignment, had a good session with my supervisor about my dissertation...and then the chaos began...
got a text from my dearest cousin, Tina Yoohoo, who was coming down from Birmingham, to clean up her aunt's place, for her mom's arrival...so agreed to meet up Tuesday evening, to help her with the cleaning up, and groceries...so, right after class, i shoot off to Oxford Street..unfortunately, she's late! so, there i was, merewanging the streets...went into countless shops, tried on stuff (even lingerie!! no, wait, too much info..eeps!) ...finally, she arrived, and i made my way to her aunt's place..which was really, really nice..the thing is, i was supposed to go to Heathrow the next day, to pick the monkeys up at about 3 p.m., so, i thought of just hanging around for a bit with the cous, and then leaving before it gets too late...entah macamane....i ended up, sleeping over her place....with no toothbrush!!! and the best thing was, of ALL the DAYS in my masters uni year, i had to lug all of my textbooks to school on that day...so, not only do i have no toothbrush, or hairbrush for that matter, i also have about 5 kgs on my back!
the night was rather chaotic, as we traipsed the streets of London, looking for a supermarket that's opened till late...*rolls eyes* padan muke, siapa suruh kluar lambat....we walked from Oxford Street to Chinatown, but to no avail..all on an empty stomach pulak tu..and me, the ever resourceful but tak bertempat one, came up with suggestions of supermarkets that are already closed! long story short, we made our way to Bayswater, where we devoured kebabs, and i got my toothbrush! *grins* and a Wall's Cornetto drumstick to mengubat rindu..hehehe...but itupun, chaotic jugaklaa...cuz, whenever i go out with my cousin, mishaps happen...got on the wrong train laa, etc....finally went to bed after helping her with the cleaning up...
the next day, lepas the final cleaning up session, went off to Sainsbury's (yes, the planned grocery trip the night before tak jadi, mishaps remember??), and bought stuff...then she cooked me a yummy lunch of andgel-hair spaghetti carbonara...then i shoot off to pick my monkeys up ....arrived at Heathrow at about 10 minutes to 3 p.m....just nicelaa, the plane was expected at 3.04p.m.....what happened was, i ended up spending about 15 minutes just staring at the notice board, went up and down the airport, and just stared out like a zombie to the streams of passenger coming out...lambat giler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it didn't help that the earlier flight was frm Dhaka, so the airport was filled with people from India..so ramai! i was beginning to think that whoever came down from whichever flight, must be thinking that they've landed at the wrong country....no offense allright...just that, do they have to bring along all the kids?? sooo bising! and people were carrying flowers laa, baloons that says welcome home laa...me? i just have my 5 kg backpack, my tangled hair, and a big, smelly hug should they want them..* shrugs* hehehe...but, all was not lost, i met Eileen's boyfriend's friends who were there to pick her up also..so we chatted and waited....and finally they arrived....
*sigh* what a sight for sore eyes...my sister's grown a little chubby, and my best friend's jaw's are poking out of her skin...right there and then, i vowed to sumbat as much food as possible into her mouth..next to me,she looks like tanned batang lidi....so, off we went, chatting all the way, and i took them home via the tube..the boys included....it was a long a ride home, and i had to endure teasings in the form of "berapa stop nie lagi Dalie? ", "jauhnye!!", "eh, tadi kata 2-3 stop, kenapa cam lebih je? " ...grr, ok, ok, so i miscounted....cheh! i think the jokes will go on for quite some time....
got them settled, then cooked a dinner of fries, pizza and meehoon goreng..panicked kejap, cuz i was not expecting all those people..but it was ok...i think i didn't poisoned anyone..hehehhe...good thing the boys came along, they had to angkat all those bags...hehehe....anyhoo, they wouldn't dare to leave their friend's girlfriend with her heavy bags (and their precious dvds that they kirim-ed! ) kan....they left at about 11 p.m....then after chatting with Eileen, (my sis was long gone to la-La Land by then) ..i finally got some sleep....
i'm gonna stop now...i actually have a meeting tomorrow morning, can u bear??? its the holidays!!!! i shouted to the email...so, am gonna continue this as soon as possible...thanks for all the well-wishes on the tagboard..love u guys! btw, The OC...TOTALLY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO. WATCH. NOW!

Apologies, and tiny tribute to the Drawer...
Say you're leavin' on a seven thirty train and that you're headin'
out to Hollywood
Girl you been givin' me that line so many times it kinda gets like
feelin' bad looks good
That kinda lovin'
Turns a man to a slave
That kinda lovin'
Sends a man right to his grave...
I go crazy, crazy, baby, I go crazy
You turn it on
Then you're gone
Yeah you drive me
Crazy, crazy, crazy, for you baby
What can I do, honey
I feel like the color blue...
- Aerosmith's "Crazy" -
my eyes are heavy..i can't believe i'm sleepy...i slept for about 3 hours in the after noon after coming back from class! i think my internal clock is screwed...i'm going to bed later, and later by the day..and last night, i finally went to sleep at about 5 a.m....i was online with The Nonz till about 4 am, and i was thinking, if i don't get any sleep right, now i'll be a zombie in my 10 a.m. class...and, i had trouble lifting my eyelids up, and resumed sleep for about 20 minutes...i was seriously considering skipping class, but i like my lecturer too much for that...so, dragged myself out of bed, got dressed, had breakfast, sempat lagi tu chat with Nonz for a few minutes, before shooting off for class...
btw, Nonz, i'm really, really sorry for what i said yesterday...i know i was being too forceful, and i shouldn't have...i should have put myself in your shoes and look at the situation from your perspective..if i made you feel dumb, or humiliated, i sincerely apologize...but, i applaud what you did, and i'm so proud of you..despite my *kononnye* confident advices and proddings, i doubt that i would have done what you did..you go, girl! the ball is now in his court...let me know if anything happens...and, yes, you reserve the right to NOT listen to me anymore...especially in the dead of the night, when i sometimes ramble too much...
the other day, i was on the phone with my sister, and she passed me over so i could talk to my brother, and the first question i asked him was, D! U miss me tak?? heheheh..and he laughed, but i know he misses me :p you called me up in the morning just to ask me THAT?? I'm late for work already! ..oklaa big career man...mentang2 dah start kerja...the other day, he was needed to work late, way past midnight, and my dad was like, no way! dahlaa the building he works in was where his boss's wife committed suicide..boleh? haa, pegilaa....but good news! he went for an interview for a position with Malaysia's newest channel 9..which i think is cool cuz that's what he wants to do and all..i was suitably impressed that he got the interview, but found out that his friend's dad got him the interview, it was like, lerrr...but then again, this is the same man, who recommended him to a graphic design company, recommended him to a few other projects, so, he must have some faith in my bro's abilities kan? i hope so...
i remembered, growing up, me, my brother and sister, would accompany my mom to watch those RTM Spektra dramas at 7 p.m., just before Maghrib..our ritual is, after Maghrib, we'd have dinner together..so before maghrib, everyone will be waiting for the call of prayers in front of the tv, cuz we would jemaah MAghrib ...anyhoo, i remembered how he would comment on the dramas, on its seemingly err, how do i put it, "tak berapa bagus..read: lame" (absolutely sugar-coating it now..), and my mom would berate him, of course..and he'd go, if i'm the director i would do it differently.and my mom would go, yalah..nanti kite bukak Mom & Son Production ok..just to shut him up..so, this Mom & Son Production joke would run whenever we watch some lame Malay drama..so, when my mom told me that he got the interview and all, i was laughing and told my mom, ma, ur Mom & Son Production dreams maybe tercapai! heheheh...well, all this coming from a little boy, who used to be my dad's "harapan" (ooh, how i would feel soo jealous when he says that!)., when asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he would answer "Drawer".....and no, that wasn't a joke, it was his limited vocabulary, but extremely clear vision on how he sees himself, i must say...i guess artist or painter would not fit the description, but drawer??!!! man, gelak besar kitorang sampai hari ni :p
which reminds me, i need to get him his Detroit Rock City and The Osbournes DVD..btw, there's this buy one get one free dvd offer at HMV, and i'm seriously contemplating getting a box set of Ally Mcbeal...hmm, what do u think..? should i? i mean, i absolutely adore the series, but getting a box dvd set? its not the same..part of the adoration is waiting anxiously every Monday night in front of the tv, and the nail-bitingly weekly wait for one hour of the show...well, when it used to run on Malaysian tv...
Muhazza went back this morning, and returned me my Beautiful Life cds, and Ada Apa Dengan Cinta...hmmm......do we feel like a little Japanese romance now? yes, we do... :)
p/s: McFlurry with Cadbury's Creme Egg....limited addition!! gotta have now!

And then comes the rain...
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time...
- Enya's "Only Time" -
when the world is abuzz with the news of Syeikh Ahmad Yassin's death, i had to grapple with my own news...a Standard 6 classmate passed away a few days ago, leaving behind his wife and a 3-year old son...i was shocked....the weird thing is, my cousin left me an online YM message, telling me that she's worried when she heard about the accident, as she feared her /our friend is involved..alhamdulillah, bukan...so, when she msged me at about 12.20 p.m. this afternoon, i got a buzz from Azura, a Std 6 friend of mine, at the same time, telling me about our classmate's death..and i started my conversation with Tina, with an "omigod, i think my friend is the one in the accident, and he's now dead"..well, along that line...on one hand, i'm glad its not our friend, but on the other hand, i was shocked to hear that it was actually MY friend....
we actually had a long history, that snakes all the way back to Std 1...he was my classmate, and sorry to say this, but he was an annoying one...our paths seem to cross a few times, cuz he was also in my Sekolah Agama class, and when i switched class in Std 4, he switched along as well....he added a lot of unforgettable memories to those who had the chance to get to know him, plus, Std 6 would never have been the same without him...the last time i saw him, was at One Utama, when my best friend (who was once his classmate) and i were shopping, about 5 years ago...we chatted, walked along, and he told me that he's taking a long break...anyway, then i heard he got married to a girl from Sabah/Sarawak..and we (the 6 Ros clan) marvelled at the fact that he tied the knot first..believe me, if u knew him, you would never have thought that he would bite the bullet..well, he did, and some time later, we heard that his wife gave birth to a baby boy...well, a lot can be said about this guy, but all that would be buried now...i'm sure he was a great husband, and dad.... and i'm sure he will be missed....one thing's for sure, the memories of him back in Std 6 will forever be remembered and shared among us...
Al-Fatihah to Ahmad Zamini...may you rest in peace....
p/s: i'm missing my monkeys even more now...and am counting the days.. are you guys missing me? i hope so...

Wuss is my middle name...
Heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek
- Louis Armstrong's and Ella Fitzgerald's "Cheek To Cheek"-
i love babies! i do, i do, i do! i just got back from viewing Kak Elin's handsome prince, and i am smitten! i want one, how? i want one to hold and to look at, right now, minus the hassle of marriage and the husband bit, of which i'm not prepared for....i can imagine what goes through a mother's mind whenever she gazes at her baby...she wants her baby to grow up well, and healthy, she wants to give him all that she can give, she's willing to sacrifice everything for her baby, she wants to shield her baby from any kind of harm, and even thinking about a smidgen of it, would bring rage and hurt to her heart, she wonders how her baby is going to turn out in the future, she's figuring out how she can provide everything for her baby.....she looks at her baby's closed-lidded eyes, while he/she is sleeping, and she wonders, how is it that she can love another so much.....
i think i've developed a biological clock ...its small yet, but it's ticking faintly in the background....i do hope that the noise will not deafen me as i'm not ready, even to be thinking about this...did you know that i started crying when i saw a picture of a newborn on somebody's blog (someone i don't even know!)?? man, what is wrong with me?? chalk up 3 nights in a row of tears shedding! my optometrist would probably be proud of me...he complains that i don't take care of my eyes enough, and recommended blinking for about 20 minutes everyday to reduce the drynes..haa, amik..banjir terus..that should keep my eyes moist for about a month, shouldn't it?
so, that's one for the baby, one for You've Got Mail...and the third was for SATC's final episode..yups, ladies and gentleman, i'm now a confirmed wuss! it started out just fine at first, but towards the end, the tears just came and didn't stop flowing..arggh!!! i think i have this tear-affinity to final episodes laa...the last time i remembered doing that, was during Ally McBeal's final episode, when i shocked Cik Nona Kita, with my inconsolable sobbing over the phone...and, when Rory graduated from Chiltern, and gave her valedictorian speech, thanking her mom, i burst into tears (even though. i do not like her mom!)...
arrghh! *gives self a shake* enough! enough of this melodramatic, overly sensitive, WUSS i'm becoming...i can't be sensitive, i don't like cats! people who loves cats are sensitive people! *stereotypical me* i'm a lean, err, make that flabby, mean, fighting machine! MUAHAHAHAHA !
oh, btw, to those who caught SATC'S last episode, wasn't it great? i thought it was...i thought it ended perfectly...and right before my eyes, the girls have matured and came a full circle..*sigh*...and it made me want to start earning so i can own a pair of Manolos!
speaking of flabby, mean, fighting machine, i am now engrossed, abso-f***ing-lutely (Bigg's words..*sigh*) immersed in my latest read, A.J Rochester's "Confessions of a Reformed Dieter: How I Dropped 8 Dress Sizes and Took My Life Back"...it doesn't sound promising, but its absolutely inspirational...its actually a real life account of an Australian writer/performer/comedian/film-maker/singer/single mother/and in her own words, goddess who had gotten so large that she claimed her arse is another region/country...and how she lost weight through this regime of eating and exercising (hmm, sounds verry familiar, doesn't it?)..all within a year...she was in between jobs, and to save her butt, she made a deal with the producer of a show she was hosting, to film her throughout the whole weight-losing programme...btw, she weighs 109 kg in the beginning...at first, i thought that it's going to be a very predictable read, but it wasn't...i just kept on going cuz i know she's human, and she has her own weaknesses, and strength, which she didn't mind revealing...e.g. one entry would be a motivated one, the next entry a frantic, craving one, another entry woud see her resolved, but of course, didn't do anything about it e.g. well, at least i thought about it!....a case of schizophrenia to some, but i can totally relate to it...you just want to see how she goes on and overcomes her craving and all the boundaries...and, most importantly, its BELIEVABLE....its not a lose-5kg-in-a-week-and-i-can-fit-into-a-slinky-top-and-micromini-and-i-got-a-handsome-and-buff-date-and-we-shagged kinda story, but a humourous but poignant on, that makes you think, and reevaluate the things that has happened to you or your life, and keeps you on the edge..better than Starsky and Hutch anyday, i tell ya....i recommend it to anyone trying to lose weight, or anyone looking for a good read...the fact that i found this book in a bargain bookstore, prolly tells that this book might be deemed rubbish by some certain reviewer or reader, but to me, its like discovering a hidden treasure..woahh, heavy tu...heheheh...
btw, reading that book really motivates me, but it also makes me hungry, and then i would cram food into my mouth..how? hmm, let's hope it works better on someone else...oh, but one thing that i want to pass from this book is the rule: Recognise, Challenge, Distract.....Recognise where your weakness is coming from, Challenge it with a new thought e.g. U are better than this, u don't need this, etc...and Distract it with a new thought or doing something else..to me, the operative word that would work most with me here is Distract...and i like the thing where you keep a list of the things you really, really like doing/ want to do, and whenever you're hit with a craving, pick one from your list and do it...do it..do it....(ala, Starsky & Hutch, eheheh)
Apologies to Huda!! sorry for not making it to the games, i woke up late :p hehehehe...not a very good excuse actually, but that's what happened...sowwee! Btw, Good Luck for your test! :)
oh yeah, my best friend got an audition for AF2! while the rest of Malaysia is away, voting, she's prolly in the Astro building, with her notes (she's having an exam the day after), along with the rest of the other contestants, practicing her song...hehehe..but i have faith in her, she doesn't need the practice....i've already "chup" the spot of PR person should she become a big star later, hehehe....*sigh* if i were in Malaysia, i would have slept over her place the night before, we'd prolly have dinner together, then do dumb sleepover stuff in her room e.g.makeup, scrabble, etc, and have long chats...and drive together to Astro the morning after, and i'd be there when she auditioned....she's been singing for a few years now, taking part in her club's karaoke competition, (of which i drove back from a holiday in PD for) and winning them...a few competitions in uni...and now AF! regardless of how cikai people think AF is, and what an embarassment it would be regardless of whether she makes it, i'm still proud of her...
finally, i've added another link, June&Jurey's...a happily married couple studying in Sheffield (betul kan??) whom i've met when i first came to London, err, Jun, that is..Jun is really nice and friendly, and we seem to click then..hmm, haven't seen them in a loong time...hope to be able to meet up with her again :) datanglaa rumah!
and Aiy, kalo u baca nie, i gave Fauziah the number to Sister Mariam rumah sebelah for that room..hope it was of help...sorrylaa, phone giler, die suke hati nak receive call ke tak, schizo jugak my phone nie...kalau i marah, die elok, kalau i buat biase, die naik kepala pulak...heheheh...anyhoo, if she decide to move in, i'll have myself a jogging partner! err, i think...ehhehe...
signing off, its Dalie "Wuss Sappy" Farizan..have a good day, y'all....

U made me cry...
Like a fool I went and stayed too long
Now I'm wondering if your love's still strong
Ooh baby
Here Iam, signed, sealed delivered I'm yours
- Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours" -
i've just wiped away tears from watching my all-time favourite movie, You've Got Mail...i know, i'm sappy and all...but i can't find any fault with the movie, honestly...heck i brought along the vcd to UK...i've watched it twice at the cinema, it was one of my first pirated vcd, (which i played, over and over again), and i caught it on tv twice, once on Astro *ooh, how i miss ASTRO!!* and just now, on channel 5....i know its a romantic-comedy, hence, is not supposed to be taken seriously, BUT, it has never failed to bring tears to my eyes..it just depends on how much tears it will bring at that time....
i love that the movie is set in New York, as a matter of fact, this movie is the only reason that could get me to jejak kaki on the soils of United States...it looks like an ideal place to be in, with the cafe, sidewalk markets selling fresh flowers and fruits (not that kat London takde, but work with me here..), the tiny parks, the cafes....SATC never made me feel like going to New York, as a matter of fact, i got intimidated by the City after watching the series...but Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks made New York a warm, friendly, and intimate city to be in....
favourite scenes:
- when Meg Ryan types out an email to Tom Hanks, and she said "i just wanted to send this question out to the void...so, goodnight, dear void..." i've always wished that i could write something like that....
- when Tom Hanks asked his friend to peek in the cafe, to see how his anonymous email friend ( Meg Ryan) looks like, while the guy went "she could be a real dog, man..", and when the guy saw Meg Ryan, and told Tom Hanks "oh, she's pretty allright.."and Tom Hanks, in his anxiety, jumps up and started shaking the iron fence, shouting, i knew it, i knew it...heheheh
- the whole cafe scene itself, as it was a really nice cafe :)
- i like the christmas song they (Meg Ryan, her boyfriend, and her staff) sang, where they did the 3 part duet "the violin si-inging, with jo-ooyful ri-inging..."...
- i like her bookshop, SHop Around The Corner, and how she has the nicest way of putting sweets in the sweet jar...
- i lurve her assistant, the girl with the lazy voice, and the scene where they imagined what happened to her mystery date when he stood Meg ryan up was just hilarious...
- i think the elevator guy, who told Tom Hanks, that if he gets out of the elevator they were stuck in alive, he would marry his girlfriend, is just sweet...
- i like the fact that the movie downplayed the fact that Tom Hanks aka Joe Fox *just call me Joe* and his family are multi-millionaires...the only evidence is his dad's limo and their Fox III and Fox II boats...it was really subtle...
- and basically, everything from when they started to break up with their significant others...how they had calamari and ice tea at a cafe, how they ate mangoes on a bench, how he bought her daisies and paid her a visit when she was sick, and she went all bashful after that, how she looks so good in twinsets and khaki pants with leather belt, how he deleted his email to her by using 2 fingers that he press continously on the "Delete" button, how she goes, its no excuse for her to say bad things to him no matter what he did to her, and he went, err lupe dah, hehehe, how when he puts his hand on her shoulder, and she seemed to have felt a jolt, ad automatically her hand went up to her neck as if to rub it...
- and how he won't be able to wait to call her after he got her number "...for coffee, or drinks, or dinner...for as long as we shall live..."
- ooh, everything laa :)
The only 2 things that i don't like about the movie *don't worry, got!* :
- The fact that Greg Kinnear is Meg Ryan's boyfriend earlier on....uggh, i DON'T LIKE Greg Kinnear!!! eee....tak suke...soo meluat!
- The unnecessary knock, knock joke at the supermarket to the Indian cashier..i thought the script was a little "heh?" and it wasn't that funny pun....
my all time feel good movie!
NB: conversations might not be in its exact words..give me a few more rounds on the vcd :p

Indeed they were....
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days
- Mary Hopkins's "Those Were The Days" -
When boredom strikes, where do you go? yups, where else..let's hit the stores! heheheh..god, i'm soo bad, but sometimes, the faint but soothing calls of those shops just seems to fill up your ears, and no matter what you do, you won't be able to ignore them...*grin* who am i kidding...let's just say i came back, 2 weeks groceries short and a very satisfied smile :) see, you can even see it from here :)
anyhoo, uggh, tomorrow ade discussion ngan Kai, Cindy and Deborah...i'm so clueless as to what this lecturer wants from us, and we're actually groping in the dark, trying to come up with ideas for our discussion...i think Kai is being very patient with us, me especially, cuz i can't seem to contribute much to the discussion..well, we'll see la how tomorrow eh...just got to know 2 really nice girls in my class, Anjali Vasquez and Serena....Anjali is actually, half indian, from Belize..that explains her name...(Rahul! Anjali! rings a bell? hehehe..) and she has this gorgeous mass of curls running down her back..*sigh* which reminds me, i need a trim soon!!! altho' i can barely afford it, but the dry split ends are bugging me...Serena is from Italy, and has the coolest looking spectacles..its like those plastic goggles used in CSI labs..hehehe...oh, and let's chalk up another embarassing incident, the other day, we were having a discussion on Levis, and my lecturer wanted to know who's wearing them..i dutifully raised my hand, so did a few others...and he told us to stand up, and show us the label! gah! i officially exhibited my not-at-all-pert-Levis-encased butt to the class...all for the trademark stitching and those 2 horses on the yellow label...did u guys know about the 2 horses? not me..i then went home to look for those darn horses that humiliated me in class...
thank you, thank you huda for those invitations!! see. isn't she the best and the sweetest?? *grins* might take you up on that, provided i tak kacau your study session...hmm, maybe i might make an appearance at the London Games..*didn't know they're having it this sunday! eepss!* Athirah did ask me if i wanted to play netball...who, me, netball???? a very undesirable combination, unless they want a mini earthquake to scare the competition away..hmmm, not a bad idea....i remembered when i was in Standard 5 *cue violins playing Sejahtera Malaysia*, my class was this really enthusiastic bunch of sportsman/woman wannabe..plus, we had the coolest, sports-freak teacher, Cikgu Mazlan, who was BENT on us winning...anything! he had to take a few months off cuz of a knee injury, tak serik2 lagi tu! he went to the extent of getting us jerseys..i still remember them..blue with white details, and red with white details...2 different jerseys lagi tu!! the catch is......they're unisex jerseys!!! we had to SHARE them with the guys!!! the smelly guys who played football and handball, and rolled around the padang for fun! it was sooo funny! i remember a classmate wrinkling her nose, as she held one of the jersey, handed by one of the boys, by the tip of her fingers! heheheh...anyhoo, in one of those red jerseys, and one memorable handball game, i ran into another girl, and fell with a big BUP! and at the corner of my eyes, i could see my dad at the edge of the court...apparently, he came to watch the game...LAUGHING away!! arrgh!! soo malu!!
another thing with Cikgu Mazlan is, in his obsession to win, he attempted to motivate us, with this chant "Satu tak cukup, satu tak cukup!!" whenever we score..and "dua tak cukup, dua tak cukup!" and so forth...so, we were all psyched up, the whole class was chanting "4 tak cukup, 4 tak cukup" when suddenly, the opponent gathered their strength, and played hard....and they won....haa, amik....4 tak cukup2 ke? hehehehe....i'm sorry if you don't really understand this, but looking back, while typing this out, man, we had soo much fun back then...and it is funny! i'm like laughing so hard over these memories...
and speaking of memories, there was once a girl, a prefect to be exact, who was in the class next to mine..who was one of the smartest girls back then, and terkenal kerana ke-smart-annye....presenting, ladies and gentlemen, Berg !! she'll forever be known as Aisyatul Aizzura Salha to me..hehehe...anyhoo, its a wonder she still remembers me..i was this NERD back then, bespectacled, big billowing prefect skirt, perpetual blue headband and a ponytail...OF COURSE i remember you!! anyone from SRKSJ Class of 92 yang tak kenal minah nie, mesti gile blurlaa....so, i'm adding her to my list of links! hope you won't mind eh....its easier than going through Sabrina's blog daily to get to your site...btw, i'm a fan of yours too! :)
ER is on,but i can't concentrate...they are showing Carter in Africa (or someplace) , and its sooo boring....give me the dramas of the emergency rooms please....dahlaa, the played down the dramatic death of Romano..hah! buat jahat dibalas jahat, i always say :p
btw, have u guys read this? product of an excellent writer...i used to look forward to her column, Dina's Dalca, every week in the NST when i was in secondary school..she was damn good! and funny! and now, she's started her own blog! oklaa, she prolly started some time ago, but i just discovered it courtesy of Kak Idlan....more daily dose for me then :)
i was being ambitious tadi, and decided to cook some tomyam..unfortunately, i've forgotten the exact EXTREMELY SIMPLE recipe...gah!!!! benda tu pun boleh lupa ka?? so, in the midst of menumis bawang, i actually took it off the stove to pour in some chilli.( i thought that's what makes the tomyam merah....boleh takk?????? mak tak ajar ke????) unfortunately, we don't have any more blended chillies, so i had to prepare an impromtu chilli paste, by chucking a whole red chilli into the blender....and guess what? there wasn't any NEED for the chilli!! well, kalau tak nak berdesing telinga that is..and, in my panic, i didn't even pour the chilli through a sieve, resulting in chilli seeds (?) floating around in my tomyam! luckily, i had chopped some cauliflower to go into it, so that kinda disguises the seeds...and after that, it was lotsa salt, sugar and lemon juice pouring to disguise the kepedasan...i dunnolaa what's the verdict, considering, apart from me eating it, the only two other victims are Kak Iza and Muhazza, who cannot tahan pedas...eeps! i hope i didn't give them stomach aches...but i let it simmer for quite some time, long enough for Kak Iza to say "aiik, tak siap2 lagi??" heheheh...biaselaa...Dalie kalau masak: 5 jam, sink penuh rubbish, and all utensils that can be found in the kitchen will be on the counter...i hope i didn't mislead her with the baking tray on the counter, i concocted some pizza thingy wingy, in my hunger before cooking the tomyam....it was a tiny thing, but we don't have a small baking tray, so i HAD to use the large round one kan? what else was i supposed to use??
am gonna go rasa now....wish me luck!

My lovely and peaceful weekend...
Ooh baby love, my baby love
I need you, oh how I need you
But all you do is treat me bad
Break my heart and leave me sad
Tell me, what did I do wrong
To make you stay away so long
- The Supremes's "Baby Love" -
well, i had a lovely weekend :) not as hyper-perkyish as hers, but lovely enough..hehhee, sorry dear, couldn't resist that..btw, i think u have a bright future to be casted in one of those teenage movies that uses older actress to portray nubile sweet-young-things..heheheh...btw, did u know that Selma Blair (of Cruel Intetntions fame) is actually 30 yrs old??
Friday morning saw me trying to doze off in the cab to Heathrow, but as the cabbie was using routes very much unfamiliar, i just had to keep my eyes open for sake of curiousity...however, it turns out that he was just using alternative routes to the ones we're familiar with..now tell me, why is it, in the dead of the morning, when no sane creature is stirring, that he had to use all those lanes? its as if we're dodging a mega traffic jam! and we would end up on a familiar route at last! buat suspense aje....it didn't save us THAT much time pun! anyhoo, we arrived quite early at Heathrow, proceeded to claim the VATs and then Ainor bought me breakfast..thank you!! one of the best hot chocolate and pain au chocolat ..yums! we had some time before she had to check in, so we hung out at the shops for a bit...then she was off, and me, yawning my head off, went to look for the Underground station to take the tube back home...got off at Piccadilly Circus, went into Boots to look for some food to take along with me to Kak Amni's house, finding none, waited for the bus, it was a cold and rainy day btw, and dozed off in the bus...got home, found out that one of our curtains has fallen off the hook, and there was no hook where it should have been...grrr....concluded that, hey, i'm on the upper floor anyway, and lest there are perverts on the top deck of those red buses, or future-perverts playing in the field beyond our house, i don't have to worry about it ..yet...i just have to find a strategic place to undress....
after dozing (catching up on my much-missed sleep), woke up to actually surf the net for a new mobile phone..what i have right now, is a sorry excuse for a phone..the fact that voices are coming out of it, and i can SOMETIMES get messages are the only reasons why i have not chucked it into the bin...the best part is, one of its part has already left me! yups, i don't know if its out of pure spite, or if its just tired of being attached to such a sad-looking phone, but ladies and gentleman, i don't have a back cover to my phone...yups, its actually fashionably backless, with a shameful looking battery exposed..i do have an option of putting a rubber band all around the whole thing, but i don't think it needs to look any more sadder than it is....so, i have to position the phone in such a way that nobody knows anything is missing whenever i take it out of the pocket...AND, once it gets into the pocket, it will just go off..OR WORSE, it remains on BUT with NOTHING on the screen! ooh, the dramas in my life.....* puts back of hand theatrically on forehead*
anywas, called up my mom to inform her that i'd be spending the night at Kak Amni's place, and she started screeching...GO NOW!!! ok maa....apparently,she's worried about weird stalkers and stuff...so,off i went to Wapping via the Underground, stopping for a while at Liverpool St Station to get them some bisuitc from Marks and Sparks...when i got to Wapping, i was thanking my lucky stars that Kak Amni gave clear directions..there was nobody around! and there i was walking alone, with my gaily-spotted umbrella, darting my eyes left and right (was worried about the stalkers kan)...didn't want to make any mistakes, so stopped at a florist to ask for proper directions to Tobacco Docks....apprently, its quite a well-known place, due to this pirate ship that is moored there...it was also, apparently, the place where they did that reality show "Shattered".. met Kak Amni, who looked gorgeous and berseri-seri..hehehe, macam baru kawin laa pulak...and the two most adorable niece and nephew of Afti's, Hana and Rashid...comel sangat!!! geramnyee!! Rashid have the chubbiest cheeks, and Hana is just soo pretty..i keep telling her, Hana lawa la, Hana cantikla, and she would smile bashfully back..hhehehe...i want one!!!
catched up on things with Kak Amni, she is my supersenior anyways :p at first, i was a little apprehensive about meeting her and the family ( read: segan ), but we got along soo super-fine...chatted about everything, while minding the kids..its soo nice to see how Kak Amni is with her kids..Rasid is especially manja, its soo cute to see how he would go and merajuk in the corner..comel! Abang Is came bcak from work, and we chatted for a bit, before Kak Amni started dinner..then Abang Is showed me some stuff the PC ,then i went and menyibuk in the kitchen..we had fishcooked in herbs, mushrooms in butter and mashed potatoes! it was yummy! i even went off to Tescos today to look for some fish to cook ;) we had dinner while watching tv..they have SKY!! jealous nyee ! i watched a little bit of Pride and Prejudice, and finally, American Idol!!! now, i know what the fuss is all about,ehehhe....AND i watched the famous William Hung audition...hilarious!! but kesian jugak, and kinda proud of him...well, at least he's got the guts to do it..who else would have done it EXACTLY like him? chatted with them till they went off to bed, and i amused myself with surfing SKY....
the next morning, we had a breakfast of yummy danish..and then we went of for a walk...i love the area!!! its soo peaceful, and yet, less than 10 minutes away, you have the tourist attractions of Tower Bridge and Tower of London plus those busloads of tourists....along the way, they showed me the docks...can't remember the name, sowwee...but it was lovely, cuz it had all those small boats moored there, and gorgeous residence of cottages and apartments overlooking the water...so lawa!! and the weather was so nice, sunny and warm...they showed me the friendly Safeway, and lo behold, a Haagen Dazs cafe within walking distance.! took a few pictures with Hana..and we walked to the benches overlooking River Thames..so, we just sat there and chatted the morning away...it was really, really nice and relaxing...i felt soo peaceful...and suddenly so wise..hehehe...on our way back,we dropped by Safeway cuz they wanted to get some groceries...lepas tu,ade pulak this surprise hale shower....it was a good thing we were near a bus stop, so took shelter for a bit..luckily, it didn't last long...got home, and had a lunch of burgers, while watching Duplex, this comedy with Ben Stiller (isn't he just the hottest thing now? *rolls eyes* ) and the gorgeous, Drew Barrymore.....they wanted to put the kids down for a nap, and when i looked at my watch..yikes! already 3 p.m...i have to leave then, if i wanted to get home before dark...so, thanked them for being such lovely hosts, and dengan tidak malunye, declared that i'll be back, maybe i might cook! hehehe..we'll see....and Abang Is told me how to get a bus to Liverpool St Station..yay! now i know how to get to their place on the bus....
and i slept all day long on Sunday, only to wake up to play Spider Solitaire..how productive...
btw, the curtain hook is up! guess who had to borrow a hammer from Kak Iza in the middle of the night, and proceeded to wake half of the neighbourhood with her hammering? yup, moi..be gentle now, it could fall off any moment.....in the meantime, the hammer is still here :)
p/s: Shima and Huda, if you guys are reading this.... i won't have a rendezvous partner for 3 whole weeks...jom kluarr!!!....hheheheh...

The Monkeys are coming to town!
If you could only read my mind
You would know that things between us
Ain't right
I know your arms are open wide
But you're a little on the straight side
I can't lie
Your one vice
Is you're too nice
Come around now can't you see
I want you
All tattooed
I want you bad
- Offspring's "Want You Bad"-
yikes! i have less than 5 hours to sleep, and i have to complete this entry...whenever i start to write, time just flies..*its either i'm writing a lot, or i took so long to construct my sentences :p * gotta get up early tomorrow as Ainor's going back to Malaysia, and i'm accompanying her to Heathrow...takpela, can sleep in the cab kot...she'll be gone for about 3 weeks...and what am i going to do here, alone??!! well, as Ainurul said, look on the bright side, you'll have the whole room to yourself! hehehe, true, true...i've never had a roomate before, well, a proper one that is, in Uni i had one chinese roomate, but as her whole family stays near the uni area, she goes back home pretty often..read: everyday..and the best thing was: she brings her own mattress on the first day of orientation, AND, she brings back her sheets EVERYDAY...yups...that's what she did..anyhoo...having a roomate has made me ....
omigod...its snowing! sheesh....
oh well...maybe now i can go and visit galleries or something..or maybe, take a much-wanted trip to Leicester..hmm, not very tempting, but i did promise a certain standard 6 friend of mine to take a picture of our long-lost classmate who's currently studying medicine in Leicester..besides, i should pay a visit to Kak Ina, Kak Hani, and Kak Ja, those wonderful ladies who helped me soo much during my short stay there...not to mention those malay medic students, and of course Soo Foong....
on MOnday, i accompanied Karina to HArrods, where we had lunch at the Thai restaurant, Santhi Thai...we had some Thai fried rice, and all the while i was thinking, man, kalau kat Mines nie, i'd be paying MUCH less for this! hehehehe..my feet were practically shouting for mercy by the end of the day, as i was too vain to NOT wear heels..hehehe...padan muka...i picked her up at Gloucester Road, where she's staying with Athirah...got lost along the way..rang a wrong doorbell, but luckily, no one answered... ;P after Harrods, we hit Oxford St...she left for Malaysia on TUesday night..am going to miss her...i felt very big sister-ish whenever she calls me up for advice..
ooh, big news, i heard rumours that one of my most favorite MONKEYS is coming over!!! insya-allah...yay!!! have been missing my monkeys soo much, sometimes, i just call them up to listen to them laugh, or tell me their lame jokes :p can't wait! already making a mental list of where to take her...i wish i could take her to Salzburg, sebab nak pergi on the Sound of Music tour...nie sume Cik Kieli punye pasal, hhehehe....but the flight tickets are pretty expensive..*sigh*..hope she won't have too many expectations...i can always dump her at her friend's place..heheheh...btw, "monkeys" is a term of endearment for my dear, beloved siblings :p
oh, and alhamdulillah, i got my results..and i did pretty well actually..well, beyond my expectation, cuz i thought i wrote CRAP for 2 modules! and those module's results even exceeded the result for one module i was confident of getting better marks..hmm..i only have ONE more result pending, and i pray that it will turn out allright as well...*gulps*
and i'm going to Kak Amni's place tomorrow night for a little sleepover...hissh, tak SESUAI laa use the word sleepover at a married couple-with-2-kids's place...but she invited me to stay the night, and although i'll prolly miss SATC and FRIENDS, i bet this would be more fun...can take pictures of those two cute little tykes...Afti, jangan jealous :p
gah, i better get to sleep...toodles!

Pleasant, pleasant people...
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry
So come on courage!
Teach me to be shy
'Cause it's not hard to fall...
- Damien Rice's "Cannonball" -
- okay, why is it that when we listen to another person extolling their virtues, and telling everyone about their greatness a.k.a. perasan bagus, we pacify ourselves with the thought that, oh, that person must be insecure, deep inside..that's why he/she needs to announce to the public of what he/she thinks is great about themselves? why is he/she being insecure, should give us any satisfaction? for, by allowing his/her insecurity surface in the form of pompous words coming out of his/her mouth, aren't we giving him/her SATISFACTION, therefore, denying us our tiny satisfaction? why then?? they'd fee happy, and we'd feel soo tiny....would thinking about their insecurity makes us think that we are more secure than them, thus should be more confident of ourselves? but wouldn't thinking about them in the first place reflect OUR insecurities?
- would i be able to bring myself to fall in love with a younger person?
anyway, had another feet-busting weekend...on Friday night, the JPA-sponsored students were invited for a little get-together at the Malaysian High Commission, in conjunction with the Director of JPA's private visit to the UK...now, i'm NOT a sponsored student *how i wish i am* , but since Ainor and Kak Iza's going (dragging her hubby along, a bit the aci cuz her hubby is a JPA sponsored student in Germany), and that would leave me all alone on a friday night, so i decided to tag along...heheheh..plus, they'd be food! never tolak rezeki, i always say * winks* but first, we had to pick up Arina, at Tottenham Court Road, who was also here from Brunel Uni for the session, and wanted to stay the night over at our place..it wasn't hard to spot this girl, she was wearing a bright pink tudung in the middle of the throng of people! hehehe...we arrived at the Hi Comm rather early, and proceeded to take pictures in front of the building, me ignoring smiles from the Malaysian staff walking by *gahh, malu!* after the prayers, we gathered in a mini balroom, and i met Shima, and her friend Nora, and Kak Nik, whom i've met before at Athirah's...there was quite a turnout, and the session was about advising the students on relevant things..after a short dialogue with the the students, we rushed down to the dinner hall....hehhehe, non-sponsored, tapi near the front in the queue for food...got to know Shima's friend, Fauziah, who's just finished her ACCA...then after makan, and more pictures, we went home, kinda in a rush sebab nak catch Sex and the City, ehhehe, nasib baik sempat....Arina is also a book lover apparently, and she amused herself later by speed-reading Judith Mcnaught....
the next day, Arina wanted to go to places in London that she has not been..hmm, tapinye, budak nie dah pergi everywhere!! hehehehe..she's even been to Westminster Abbey, i've never even been there! but she did want to go to Trafalgar Square, so after a breakfast of nasi lemak, off we went to Trafalgar Sq..Arina nie best, so chirpy, talkative and friendly, all in her loghat utara! kitorang pun nak terikut-ikut cakap camtu, hehehe...so sempoi and sporting, she ends up taking pictures everywhere and in various poses..comel sangat! after all that posing, we went into the NAtional GAllery to look at the paintings..i'm no art lover, but they were lovely...the ones from the 17th -19th century included Van Gogh and Renoir, so that was kinda familiar *grin* after that, took a bus to Goodge St..after prayers, back to Piccadily Circus for more pictures, then she had to leave...so, after our goodbyes, we went to get ice-cream, doughnuts and kebabs before going home to settle down in front of CSI Miami...hope to be seeing this girl again..maybe on a road trip somewhere? *winks*
then this morning, was awakened by a phone call from Karina, inviting me for lunch with her, Athirah, Athirah's brother Ayie, and their cousin Ramona...so, at about 11 a.m., me and Ainor left home to meet them at Oxford Circus, depan Benetton..we got there rather early, and in Benetton was this Asian-looking girl, who seemed like she was waiting for someone, and i wondered if that was their cousin Ramona..turns out that it was! and she thought that we seemed to be waiting for someone too! and, boleh tak kecik lagi dunia nie? Ramona is my ex-colleague's girlfriend! and i have actually met her before, in Malaysia, when i was taking my IELTS result at the British Council, and i met Dzuhair (my ex-colleague) who introduced her to me back in August...we had Japanese food at Sakura near Oxford Circus..it was yummy! Miss Jakun here have never had japanese food before, except for those occasional Giant sushis, so it was a new experience..we had some tempuras, mackerel, salmon, sushis, and eel...yup, i ate those eel, but it was yummy! after lunch, we went for a drink kat Starbucks, where we met Athirah's other cousin, Mala and her boyfriend, Leng...it was nice chatting and hanging out with them..Ramona a.k.a. nana, is real friendly and talkative, so was Ayie, and everyone else...all our kesegan-an were diminished by the end of the day.....
pleasant outing, nice people..the hour-long phone call with nona just about tops a great weekend...now, if only i can get Karina to confirm on our plans for tomorrow...

The job Fair and Ally McBeal
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise from a tropic isle
Just remember, darling all the while
You belong to me
- Vonda Shepard in Ally McBeal "You Belong To Me" -
I thought today would be a day of total relaxation for me...woke up late (yet again), long shower, then settle down to read a little something for class tomorrow...i even thought of cooking something for dinner...tetapinye, as i was getting ready for Zuhur prayers, i suddenly realised..shit! today is the job fair day!! arrggghhh!!!! i was supposed to go with Soo, but she couldn't make it from LEicester (had to attend important classes), and she told me to get some stuff for her if i went...eepps! i know i'm under no obligation to go, but she did invite me in the first place, which was so nice and considerate of her, that i thought i should go and get her some infos...the thing is, i didn't know exactly WHERE it is....was thinking of going tomorrow, cuz she told me that it will be held for 2 days...so, i went and google it..eepps again!! today's the last day, and it ends at 7 p.m.!!! and it was already 2 p.m.!! got ready in a rush, blew dry my hair, but left it in tangles, changed into something sensible, and rushed off to catch the 38...got the address of the website, and armed with the London A-Z, i searched for it..luckily it was easy to be found...and the horde of people coming out from the building makes it easy for me..
the Londoners Job Fair was organised by the Evening Standard, and among the exhibitioners were O2 (mobile network co), Nationwide Building Society, Loot.com magazine, Perfect Day (this financial consulting company), Monsoon Accessorize (retailer), a catering recruitment company, Securicor, Enterprise Rent-A-Car..and the Armed Forces, the Navy, and a few other uniformed organizations...i walked around, collected booklets, submitted an application to O2 (do u have retail experience? err, i used to help out my dad in his store back home...NOT!!!) but in my application, i based my retail exerience on those stalls we used to have in school and uni selling Valentine's Day gifts, Raya cookies, generally food..u know the type...hehehehe....retail la tu...talked to a few people about who they're recruiting, what kinda qualifications needed..they even have a section for training purposes, and that's where you have all those computer courses..i made my way to the room marked refreshments..cheh, ingatkan free..hehehhe...well, best things in life are not these then...
after the job fair, i made my way to LSE to pray...then walked to the bus stop...along the way, i went through Sicily/Sicilian Avenue, saw this bookshop Holborn Books, with 25% off signs outside, and came out with a book on Ally McBeal selling at 99p!! yaay!! a die-hard fan must have....*grins*
anyhoo, hope i'll have some luck with my application...here's to tomorrow! gotta go read up!! acckk!!!

The best, of the best, of the best!
Then say you'll share with me
one love, one lifetime . . .
Let me lead you from your solitude . . .
Say you need me with you here,
beside you . . .
anywhere you go,
let me go too -
Christine,
that's all I ask
of you . . .
- "All I Ask Of You" Phantom Of The Opera -
i just got back from the best musical i've ever seen...and i'm still speechless...granted, i've not been to many, and hey, i'm no expert on any, but they don't name it the number one musical of all time for nothing...Phantom Of The Opera is the best, of the best, of the best! la creme de la creme! i wish i can describe the whole thing in its full glory, but i can only provide a link...go here to get a summary...i've listened to the songs since i was in Form 5, courtesy of The Totz, made feeble attempts at playing the music score on the piano, i've even gone to the extent of asking my sister to sit next to me, while i play, and sing along..together, we managed a creaky rendition..but tonight, the whole thing was almost magical....the illusions, the story itself, the wonderful acting by all the cast..the Phantom, in his mask was actually terrifying, but endearingly handsome (haha, to me! i'm attracted to weirdos!), and in the end, managed to emit sympathy from his audience (me,again! nearly cried!)...after all that's said and done, he is after all, human, have feelings which he conveyed to the audience with his tears for Christine, the heroine..when they came out at the end, i nearly gave a standing ovation, he was that good! no matter that Raoul, Christine's lover is much better-looking (no traces of gay-ness, whatsoever!) ..but the guy behind the Phantom mask, will live on as the greatest actor in my eyes....the songs were soo beautiful, their voices were flawless...altho', err, i would like to hear the original Sarah Brightman singing all those tunes, bet she can tarik better...in the beginning, the story starts with the broken chandelier that suddenly lights up and rise to the air slowly, with the music of The Phantom Of The Opera ominously in the background, and i got the shivers, it was that good! and that was only in the beginning! several shocks came in frightening forms of dead bodies, and sudden appearances of the Phantom, and one of the best part, was when he totally disappeared from stage...cool! it was a lovely, lovely, show.... i encourage anyone, wanting to catch a musical, to make this one a must-see....expecially you, cousin dear...
*phew* enough gushing..but alhamdulillah, today was a good day..went to uni to meet my lecturer, Graham, got valuable feedback on my proposal, he thought it was clearly thought out and interesting! the best part was....i got myself a supervisor!! yaayy! alhamdulillah....he just went, so when should we meet next..and i went, are you willing to be MY supervisor? *siap incredulous stare and pointing at self lagi* ...err, i'm not? ...no, i'm just gathering opinions on my proposal...oh, have i walked into a trap here? and he smiles..alalalaa..comelllaaa orang tua nie..."well, not intentionally..."hehehhe....anyways, he offered to be my supervisor, cuz he thought the topic is interesting! and i only got picked on ONCE in class today...hehhehe..hurrah! and Saltuk, my groupmate from Turkey, is planning for a dinner outing for us all at a Turkish restaurant one of these days..can't wait..yums! then Coura asks, what about MAlaysian food? hehehe..allrighty, i'll take you guys nanti!
after class, where we watched a video on Nike..btw, did u know that if Nike were to double the wages it pays to those low-cost labour in Indonesia, who are now earning an average of USD 2 per day, they would not even hurt their profits? its prolly gonna cost another USD 1.50 per a USD 70 pair of shoes... anyhoo, after class, after prayers, naik the 29 to Gower St, passed by UCL., prayed kat Goodge Street, break fast ngan Snickers (there goes the diet and self-resolution, and self discipline down the drain...whoosh! ), then went to wait for Ainor at Tottenham Court Road...we reached Piccadiliy Circus before 7 p.m., and as the show was gonna start at 7.30 p.m., kitorang pun ronda2 kejap..then had a quick dinner of Filet-O- Fish at McDs...then met Shima at Her Majesty's theatre, where The Phantom is playing..sempat ambik gambar lagi before masuk...hehehe.....met Shima's housemate, Roza, this Phd in Physics student from UCL, who gushed over The Phantom with me..i told her that i could watch it all over again, and she took my number in case she wants to watch it again also..hehehe...btw, took more pictures at Piccadily Circus ngan Athirah and Ainor..i now have about 4 different versions of myself at Piccadily Circus..nie Karina nak datang this weekend nie, mesti gi ambik gambar lagi...hehehe..
btw, i love how UCL looks...it also reminds me vaguely of Columbia University, New York (courtesy of The Mirror HAs TWo FAces, ehhehe...) ....
i have found a blog by a dear friend of mine, Sabrina..Sab is this ultra smart girl, damn friendly and funny, and musically inclined ( i remember the time we sang all night during a certain IT camp to her playing the Beatles songs on the guitar...i wanna hold you haaannnddd...) ...and i'm linking it up...have also added Anuar Fariz's * he linked me up, malulaa pulak cuz i didn;t notice it earlier* and Izwan's....
oh yeah, the Oscars came and went...i slept after about an hour after watching it..what do you expect?! 12.50 a.m.?? zzzzzzzz.....but Billy Crystal never fails to make me laugh..and Renee Zellwegger's speech was long but sweet...Pete Jackson was oh-so-scruffy, and Johnny Depp was drool-inducing...*sigh*....i was nicely watching it when suddenly, i was watching the morning news...eh, dah pagi?? arrgh!! sabar jelaa...the stars were then at the post-Oscars party...btw, did you know that Samantha from Sex and the City was born in Liverpool? i didn't know that..
*note to Nerry: Babes, u gotta tell me how to post notes in ur bloglaa...where aa? *winks *

Busted feet and potato salad
What if I had never let you go
Would you be the man I used to know
If I'd stayed
If you'd tried
If we could only turn back time
But I guess we'll never know
- Kate Winslet's "What If"-
i'm currently waiting for Maghrib...since today is Hari Ashura, i decided to fast..plus, its a moday, plus i've not ganti-ed some of my puasas, plus, i need to learn how to starve...again....Ainor and me have just finished preparing our buka puasa spread...she made lasagne, and i made potato salad, and we're gonna have some oven fries, and coleslaw with that..and she made the last batch of cekodok pisang...none of us could taste anything, so we're just relying on our throws of bits nd pieces into the pan..so, we don't know how anything taste like...btw, that was my first attempt at making potato salad...hope it turns out good...i mean, i know it seems like an easy dish to do, but i'm still working my way round the kitchen...but this ditzy klutz just now, burnt her fingers pouring hot water to lasagne sheets she was holding, straight from the electric kettle..so smartlaa kan...*rolls eyes* ..ouch, but it does hurt..cam stinging gitu....
saturday was a feet-busting day as i accompanied Ainor to get some souvenirs and stuff at Oxford St...we arrived at about 11 a.m. , and finally left at 8 p.m....itupun, sebab we're rushing to catch CSI Miami *oh, why do they have to screen it on saturday nights!? why can't they put us out of our misery and just screen CSI and CSI Miami back-to-back?? grr...* anyhoo, it was damn tiring as we practically walked all the way up to Marble Arch...after prayers at Goodge St, we hunted for a place to have lunch...don't know why, but we were thinking of fish and chips, and i was lamenting on the fact that i have not tasted a genuine british fish and chips since i set foot in this country....so, we were in the bus, thinking where can we find decent fish and chips within the region, and while on the bus, we were like, in our hunger, ok, u watch that side of the road, and i'll watch this side of the road..we were carefully scrutinizing each and every shop that went by, and suddenly we stopped at this bus stop in front of Oasis, this Arab restaurant near Tottenham Court Road...i was looking at the menu, but it was too far to see if they had fish and chips, but luckily they had large pictures behind the counter..."ada fish and chips!!"..sepantas kilat, before the conducter could shut the doors, we jumped off and rushed into the shop! hehehe...then it was a silent lunch, as we hungrily filled our tummies...man, were we stuffed! it was quite good actually...quite yums! lepas tu pulak, in about 1/2 hour, we spotted McDonalds, and AInor was like, milkshakes!! so, off we went into McDonalds...budak nie craving tak habis2, hehe...anyhoo, it was a good thing that we were in McDs (and got seats..) cuz it started to rain, quite heavily, and as the temperature dipped, raindrops turned into flakes of snow....miss pandai here, forgotten her umbrella, so we waited till it stopped before going off again...
just before we left for home, we took a bus to Piccadily Circus, sebab nak gi Chinatown...i wanted to look for Kicap Manis, and Ainor wanted sengkuang to make popiahs...btw, what are sengkuangs in English? is it water chestnut? or giant water chestnuts? oh well....there were a couple of guys playing a prank on passerby...one guy was just striking a pose in front of a big bag of rubbish..*i seriously didn't know what he intended to do* but whenever anyone walks past the rubbish bag, out popped anther young man who went "BOO!"...err, allright....anyhoo, a few girls screamed and all...heh...cheap thrills..hehhe..ooh, met Idz ad his gf, Juáa..so, chatted for a bit..they're waiting for a few friends, at a supposed gerbang..but there are 3 gerbangs! so, we left them figuring out which gerbang they should go to...got my Kicap Manis, and Ainor bought 3 cans of A&W Root Beer....
btw, last weekend, we were at Walthamstow, at our favourite ayam shop, wondering how much ayam should we buy and all..when suddenly this indian guy behind the counter, turned to serve us, and as we were about to open our mouth to tell him what we want, he suddenly said, "malaysia kat mane? " hehhehe..lerr, malaysian rupenye...i dah agak dah! i was thinking about how he doesn't look so foreign, and he kinda look familiar, in a i've-seen-this-look-before...anyhoo, he said he couldn't get a job anywhere, so had to resort to working in the ayam shop...humpph...kat malaysia, takde kerje ka? he's not that great at chopping up ayams anyway..too much fat hanging round!!
karina called to say she's coming to London for the weekend..yaay! can go round, round aiight! so sorry for not being able to go to the IC night..so shy laa..! *blush* anyhoo, am looking forward to her coming..btw, cousin dearest, why don't u come over for the weekend as well....? *hint, hint*...besides, AInor's going back next weekend * jealousnye!! but she deserves it after all those courseworks* ..then i can come and visit you at Birmingham! ok tak, ok tak? *grins*
called ferr on sunday afternoon...its been a while since i've heard her high voice..hehehhe...an hour long gossip session ensued, hehehe.....best, best! miss u too, girl!! altho' i think the conversation has a few seconds lag...grr..tried to call elly earlier on, but spent like 5 minutes yelling, boleh dengar tak, boleh dengar tak? and she going, pochoy! mochoy! tochoy! *sigh*...am missing this bunch of ppl..can't wait till i get a proper conversation with them....ooh, and a date with whichever one of them to our regular uni-days food haunts....interested, dears?
am gonna go meet my lecturer, Graham, tomorrow...hope he has nice things to say bout my proposal...*gulp*...
