Friday Night TV
I cried and I cried
There were nights that died for you baby
I tried and I tried to deny that your love drove me crazy, baby
If the love that I got for you is gone
If the river I cried ain't that long
Then I'm wrong, yeah I'm wrong, this ain't a love song
- Bon Jovi's "This Ain’t A Love Song" -
After helping Kak Iza and Muhazza with a dinner of nasi ayam, and some sayur and mushroom concoction I made, I settled down to my usual Friday Night TV selection..channel of choice: Channel 4…well, at 8 p.m., we watched Back to Reality on 5 TV, but that’s only because we wanted to know what’s going on with the contestants of the reality show, and see if anyone got voted off….at 9 p.m. FRIENDS started..then, it was Will & Grace, but personally I think the show should be called Karen and the other gay guy (can’t remember his name)…I keep thinking that the whole show is a lot more entertaining if Karen had more lines…she’s definitely my favourite character..her and her tiny, shrieky, high voice and penchant for all things x-rated..well, sorta…she’s sooo cute!
Then it was Sex and the City…only 3 episodes left!! And I was beginning to like the series! I can practically hear my cousin, Tina Yoohoo, squealing and swooning over Mikhail Barsyhnikov all the way in Birmingham..he was on for quite some time didn’t he,dear…anyhoo, what made tonight’s episode for me was Big’s voice on Carrie’s answering machine…I absolutely ADORE Big…have always been and forever will be….so dashing with his wiggly eyebrow…unfortunately, after a session of blog-hopping today, I found a picture from the final episode of Carrie and the person who she’s gonna end up with…*wicked grin*…am not gonna spoil for you then…hehhehe….
Then came NY Graham Norton…Graham Norton is this rather campy looking British guy, who hosts his own talk show (sorta talk/variety/make-people-look-stupid show) but I really like it cuz he’s funny!! Extremely!! Maybe its British humour *wonders*…btw, I personally think he looks like Aznil Nawawi *don’t ask way, maybe it’s the loud suits :p * anyway, the show has moved from Britain to New York, but its only available for British viewers…hehehe..tonight’s guest was..*drumrolls*..Jon Bon Jovi!!!!! *scrreaaaammmm* *sqquueeeallll* *sigh*..C.O.M.E.L. nyerrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so, so so, suke JBJ…..ever since, err, Form 3…plus, he was Ally McBeal’s boyfriend for a while, and I was practically glued to the tv then, with his butt, and his eyes, and his sengih, and those totally, totally casual outfits (well, he was the handyman) …muke die nie cam timeless sikit aa, sebab tak tukar banyak over the years :p hehhehe..but methinks he bleaches his teeth..cam putih lebih2 laa pulak..anyhoo, he was there in his Royal Yummy-ness, wearing blue jeans and a black turtleneck *scream*..sengih-ing his trademark smile * squeal*….anyway, on every Graham Norton show, he always does this thing where he would find something/someone interesting on the net, or wherever, preferably advertising something, and call them up, asking his guest to participate in fooling the guy…one time, it was this guy who had fixations on balloons and has his own website with pictures of him and balloons (nude ones too!) , another time is this guy who loves Elton (mase tu Elton was his guest), and tonight, in conjunction with Bush’s declaration on gay marriages, Graham and Jon Bon Jovi *scream* proceeded to call a marriage counselor, and tell her their problems as a gay couple…the catch: using words from Bon Jovi’s songs…verdict: Hilarious!!! Jon siap buat muke2 merajuk lagi *soo comel*..an example: “I mean I just want to tell him you know, that, you give love a bad name”..and the best, masa Jon cakap “ well, you can always lay your hands on me”..!!! hahahhaha…gelak besar dah mase tu….*sigh*…Jon Bon Jovi..does anyone remember the videoclip for “This Ain’t A Love Song” ? I think it was sweet….
And now they’re showing some sort of the making of LOTR, which should be fascinating, should I actually have a smidgen interest in it…don’t get me wrong…I LIKE LOTR…..but, don’t shoot me with your Legolas-like arrows now…but I have not watched The 2 Towers….yup….hence, I didn’t even made the move to watch The Return Of the King…well, you can’t really watch the sequel without watching the prequel kan? Hehhehe…my only excuse for not watching The 2 Towers is that I’ve actually finished reading it..so I know what’s going on, what’s gonna happen (cuz apparently the movie finishes off earlier than the book, but then again, I have not watched it, so I can’t be sure)…I know that it seems like a great phenomenon, and I am amazed at the director, whatsisname, for shooting 3 huge movies simultaneously, piecing the scenes like a giant jigsaw puzzle…I know Orlando Bloom is such a dish, and Hugo Morgensten as Aragorn looks yummy as well (but he looks totally weird minus the Aragorn get-up), and Liv Tyler was so beautiful (as always) ..oh yeah, and let’s not forget Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin…lovely hobbits they are (terlupe pulak si kenit2 tu)…the amazing setting and costumes…the interpretation of JRR Tolkien’s mystical Middle-Earth…but, I just can’t work up the enthusiasm to actually go and catch the movie…kalau Harry Potter tu, lainlaa….i would actually try to catch the first screening of that movie (which I did, for the Sorcerer’s Stone)…
I guess one annoying thing that I find post-LOTR hoohaa is how MANY people claimed that LOTR is their FAVOURITE book…I mean, take a look at those Friendster profiles..suddenly, next to ditzy novels or chick-lit (which I’m guilty of), you find LOTR….ok, I’m gonna be annoying here as well…HELLOO???? Do you even KNOW what favourite means??? A favourite book is something that you go back to every now and again! Its familiar, after a few reads, you like it even more *my definition, not applicable to anyone*… I mean, have they EVEN gone through the book?? Ok, so most prolly have, but I’m talking about these kids who prolly have not even HEARD of JRR Tolkien, let alone Middle-Earth before the movies arrived….sheesh….i remembered this brilliant friend of mine, Su-Li, who is this bright young thing, who had an amazing collection of books, and a great vocabulary plus knowledge, all at a tender age of 13…she had actually read The Hobbit before secondary school, and recommended me to read it in Form 2…btw, for those not in the know (although prolly everyone knows it by now) The Hobbit is the prequel to LOTR…well, sorta..it tells the tale of Bilbo Baggins ( Frodo’s Uncle who gave him The Ring), and his adventures, and how he got the ring in the first place…we were introduced to Gollum then…anyway, Su-Li didn’t even BRAGGED that she read the whole caboodle at a young age..it was just another book for her…and she’s definitely not the ditzy type, well, wacky, but not DITZY…wait, what’s my point here? Well, I’m just annoyed, pissed actually, at these people who claimed that LOTR is their favourite book..honey, if you can actually read the whole thing, and get back to it in a month or two, then I would regard you as a genuine “LOTR is my favourite book”..but if you’ve just watched the movie, and think hey, the book must be exactly like THAT, then baby, you have got A LOT to learn..or read….
As for me, I’m guilty of not watching the sequels of great cinematic displays, and putting down the book before the first chapter of the ROTK ended…the book is now gathering dust in my bookshelf here, with my Winston Churchill bookmark in its faithful place…I might even commit the sin of sending it back home when my dad comes for a visit..no guesses to what my “un-Favourite” book huh….

Poyo tak....?
Bila kudengar lagu cinta
Tentang sepasang anak manusia
Yang sedang hanyut dibuai asmara
Beradu di dalam syurga loka
Yang amat indah
Pasti kukenangkan dirimu
Yang masih jauh di rantau orang
Lantas ku teringat kata-katamu
Yang kau ucapkan tika saat-saat
Kita berpisah
( korus )
Takkan bisa hatiku berubah
Bila di timpa dugaan dan badai melanda kita
Teguh berdiri cinta yang ada
Takkan bisa sekali-kali kasihku berubah
Bila bertindanan halangan tiba
Kesetiaanku tetap serupa
Kasih tak kan berubah
- Siti Sarah's "Ke Hujung Dunia" -
urrghh..mengantuknye....nie sumer gara2 tak mencabut kanta lekap awal2 laa niee..padan muka...buat berat mata je...
malam tadi tido lambat sebab berborak dengan 3 rakan sejagat, Dani, Jimie Jimod dan Nona...sedar2 dah pukul 2.30 pagi, kelas pulak pukul 10 pagi..alamak...dahlaa tak habis baca laporan pasaran untuk sesi perbincangan kumpulan kitorang..abislaa, masak...pagi tadi pulak, liatnye nak bangun, ya ampun...sabar jelaa...tapi, dalam lambat2, sempat gak laa makan breakfast muesli ngan yogurt...makan sambil diri je, tak sempat nak duduk :p
nasib baik class Graham Hankinson..jejaka tua handsome yang bakal menjadi favourite lecturer sem nie hehehehe...sebelum kelas, terjumpa die kat photostate machine, dan terus tanye, kalau2 die nak tolong reviewkan dissertation proposal...nasib baiklaa die nie baik (dan comel) , and he agreed! yaay! results satu module dah keluar...hmm...alhamdulillah, ok....tak seperti yang dijangka, tapi kan, kalau kerja pun buat ala kadar je, setimpal je laa result die...*glum*...
dalam kelas, duduk sebelah Kai, budak Thai yang sangat comel dan makin menjadi idaman hati dari hari ke hari...hehehee...dah interview tadi...hmm, tahun nie umur 24 (elok sangat laa tu!), masa umur die 8 tahun, keluarga die pindah ke London, dan ade degree in computer science....lepas kelas, discussion dengan die, Deborah dan Cindy..tapi tak dapat contribute banyak sangat..*glum lagi*...nasib baik diorang ok...lepas tu jadi sesi mengutuk orang pulak..hehehe...oklaa, kitorang yang perempuan2 nie laa yg lebih2 mengutuk...Kai cam amused je tengok kitorang...cakap kat die, we're in a bitching session now, ru ok with that?!...heheheh...nasib baiklaa comel, sejuk hati tengok :)
lepak dengan diorang sampai pukul 3 petang...on the way balik, ingatkan nak beli cheese sebab teringin nak makan scrambled eggs letak cheese..tapi masa tengah line-up kat Iceland tu (this discount supermarket), terasa kena disiplin kan diri dan jangan spend, atau makan benda2 tak senonoh..so letaklaa balik....sampai rumah je, tengok2 Ainor dah goreng nasi..yaay! kalau dah pandang nasi goreng tu, apa lagi, boleh bantai banyak2 :p sempat jugak buat scrambled egg buat lauk nasi tu...petang tadi pulak, Kak Iza ngan Muhazza buat mee goreng, tapi dah kenyang sangat sebab membantai nasi goreng tu, so, rasa 2 sudu je...oklaa gak....
nak email Kevin Kiernan, lecturer favourite sem lepas, nak mintak opinion tentang dissertation proposal..pastu, nak slow2 usha die jadi supervisor..hehehe...itupun kalau tak dapat Graham...kan best kalau dapat Graham...he always finds something nice to say about everyone's presentation...which is good, sebabnye, selalunye orang tu mesti dah nak nervous breakdown, and tak nak dengar pasal kesalahan die, so, boleh boost self-esteem sikitlaa bile Graham kasi comment..tapinye, macam Kai cakap, lagi baik die terus bagitau apa yang tak kena ngan presentation kite..pushes us to be better...but i just think Graham is sweet :) *biased*...
btw, hari tu bile dengar dan hayati betul2 lagu Siti Sarah nie, baru faham dan comprende secara sepenuhnye (tu sebab kena paste a major chunk of the song)...sedih jugak lagu nie...nasib baiklaa takde buah hati pengarang jantung yang tengah menunggu kat tanahair terchenta tu..kalau ade, hmm....siann die....hhehehehhe :p ape2 pun (ayat Azizi AF), lagu nie memang best...memang menusuk kalbu, menikam jiwa, membuahkan rasa, melahirkan chenta...*chewaah*...
hari nie nak merapu dalam bahasa ibunda, tapi cam kureng sikitlaa...hehehhehe.....geramnye tengok kak cik nie punye blog yang telah "didekor-ulang" (ayat A2DC) ..cute sangat! its soo you! :)...terasa nak rombak rupe blog nie jugak..tapi tak jumpe design yang berkenan di hati..camne ye...kan best kalau tau camne nak design...anniversary blog nie nak dekat...ape plan nak celebrate eh?

The mind's ok, its back on its crooked path
High on diesel and gasoline, psycho for drum machine
shaking their bits to the hits,
Drag acts, drug acts, suicides, in your dad's suits you hide
staining his name again,
Cracked up, stacked up, 22, psycho for sex and glue
lost it to Bostik, yeah,
Shaved heads, rave heads, on the pill, got too much time to kill
get into bands and gangs,
Oh, here they come, the beautiful ones, the beautiful ones
- Suede's "Beautiful Ones" -
Alhamdulillah, everything's a-ok in Dalie-land...
i'm in the midst of ER...i love Nila, the main character in Bend it Like Beckham, in this new series...she reminds me of my ex-tuition mate, Aida, an Assuntarian..man, those were some tuition sessions...there were 6 of us, Aida, Sharm and CHoy from Assunta, Anwar and Azura from SMSU, and moi...the teacher who was our victim for 2 years, was Mr Siva, this sedate-looking, tall man, of Chinese and Indian parentage, with greying hair...well, he tried to be serious and all but with this lot, heck, even he can't stop laughing and joking around...Choy has this loud, hysterical but infectious laughter, and it never failed to make an appearance at every session...Physics and Chemistry was fun with them around, and jokes flying around..Choy never fails to make some comment about Sir's "berombak" hair, so much so, that he turned up one day with a new haircut, and we teased him about it..and before we sat for our spm, we planned for this photo session, and Sir went to get his hair cut, but someone forgotten the camera..hehehe...by the time we finally took the class picture, his hair had gotten the "berombak" look again! but the one thing that i can never forget, was when all of us were having a conversation on whether SUperman's baby can fly or not, he butted in and said with conviction, that Superman's baby CAN'T fly....and we were like why not?? and he calmly said, because he would be born on Earth, so he can't fly, and proceeded to tell us his little theory...and Choy wondered out loud, do you physics people, or professors, like, get together on Friday nights to dicuss these things or something??!! hehehehhe.....
we had this visiting lecturer for my hospitality management subject on Monday, Richard Lynch, who was the author of the text we're using for the subject...which i have not bought, cuz i'm not officially registered for the class, i'm just there for the heck of it :p ..no laa, its an interesting subject actually, but since i want to focus on my marketing subjects more, i decided to just attend the lectures, and to get reading materials, which is A LOT cuz my lecturer, Pat, emails us all this links to hospitality and tourism news which is soo choking my inbox..its a good thing that no exams are involved, its purely coursework..*shrugs*...anyhoo, Lynch, gave an interesting lecture which focused on McDonalds...so, we get his insighst on having a McDonalds meal in different parts of Europe...like, for instance, in Amsterdam, fries are served with mayo not ketchup...and in Germany, the soft drink is served without ice...
ooh, btw, we (me and Ainor) made the briyani meal Raheela (friend of Safurah's and Ainurul's ) taught us! well, i just did the spicy brinjal in yogurt sauce and mango chutney..Ainor made the bulk of it, with the briyani and the spinach and chicken dish..it turned out quite ok actually...hehehe...we didn't poisoned ourselves or Kak Iza and Muhazza :p last night pulak, they made makaroni bakar...yums! sedap! pandai jugak si Muhazza nie masak...hehehe...but tonight, due to kemalasan, we just had toasted sardine sanwiches :p
i knew i was going to be picked on in class again..*sigh* i don't know if its a boon or a bane to be recognized by the lecturer, but i had to ignore voices in my mind to pick up my new juicy novel (i'm in the midst of Maeve Binchy's Scarlet Feather now) in the bus and instead read the chapter that will be discussed in class..nasib baik baca..dah agak dah, mesti kena tanye soalan punye...anyways, masa discussion in our seminar, my group consisted of Alfred, Coura, Doris ( a little bit on Doris, last semester she sported tiny braids, then a short red bob...then this semester, long tiny braids! how did she do that??!! are those hair extensions?? *wonders*) and this new guy, Nezz...i totally understand how Nezz feels when the lecturer said something along the lines, well, u joined us a little bit later, try and catch up.....been there, done that..and hey, if i could do it, i'm sure anyone can....speaking of that matter, i received a surprising phone call from Firman, my ex-classmate in Leicester, complaining about the course and all...*devilish grin*..despite all that i went through, i still think i made the right decision in coming here....btw, Firman got my contacts from Stephen, my ex-groupmate, bless him! i didn't think any of them would still keep my contacts....which reminds me, i need to write some emails saying hi and how-do-you-dos....
speaking of contacts, i got an email from Soo Fong, this other Malaysian chinese friend i made in my short stay in Leicester! wonderful! she got my contacts from Kak Hani, and scolded me for not keeping in touch..hehehe..sorreee Soo!! she was a HUGE help in Leicester, answered all my queries, helped me with almost EVERYTHING!! explained a lotta things to me, handphone matters, immigration matters, employment matters, etc...let me use her pc (with Japanese characters!!)...let me use her phone...she was the best! currently doing her MSc in Finance, and complaining about the course, but she has a small study group now, so she's coping quite well...and she's coming to London! yaay! there's a job fair in Holborn on the 3rd of March, and she asked me to come along as well...gonna catch up on news and gossips then....btw, best tak, her boyfie is kinda paying for her studies..heheheh....
had a short chat with Huda the other day, btw Puan Huda, cepat buat blog!! hehehehe..and can't wait to see your wedding pictures! ooh, and am looking forward to another theatre gang outing, insya-Allah, to watch Phantom of the Opera next week! yaay! can't wait!
Ita is in a dilemma right now...came over to our place to mengadu on Sunday, and we took her out grocery shopping at Tesco's and cooked a spaghetti dinner...she's thinking of moving out, but, does not have the errr, gumption to voice it out to Kak Ika..on the other hand, we've surveyed places for her to stay, at much cheaper rents, and is ready for her whenever she wants to move in..so, its totally up to her now....*can't believe some Melayu would do some things to other melayu...especially kat negara orang...don't they know they're building a bad reputation for themselves?? nanti, nak mintak tolong ngan sape? tak paham laa orang2 camni..* on the other hand, she's always welcomed here whenever, if she needs a place to stay...sekecik-kecik our space pun, there's always space for anyone :) except for firman, who inquired can he stay over...ewww...noo!!!
errkk, gotta go read a 108 page market report on home furnishings...*yawn*..ngantuk la pulak..eh, sex and the city repeat? hehehehe..break kejap laa...

My mind is playing a game of ping-pong, please excuse the break...
Bintang bintang di kayangan
Lembut sang bayu
Tanpa bulan di awangan yang tinggi
Tanpa bayangmu
Andainya tiada ketukan kayu
Jika mimpi dihapuskan
Hancurlah lagu
Walau kita dipisah laut biru
Walau kau jauh
Lihatlah angkasa
Kan terubat rasa rindu...
- Innuendo's "Nanti" -
you know how your thoughts floats in your mind...well, sometimes my thoughts float randomly in and out, and today, i think it would be acceptable to list them down, due to my current state of mind that can't construct a proper blog entry...but still want to share with the world all of its weird, weird nothingness..* i don't even make any sense *
- do any of you remember the series, Opah, back in the 80s? well, i actually still have recollections of the series...the serene Opah, with her wise words of wisdom, but at the same time, being a human and a mother, only wants the best for her children and grandchildren, hence, acting a little bit overbearing at times....the long-suffering daughter of hers, the becok Joyah, who's prolly that way cuz there's no one who listens to her, and her kids don't really care about her anyway...why this sudden mini reminiscence? i was just thinking about the soaps here on UK tv, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Eastenders...and how they seem to be the staple diet of many tv viewers here...i would think that back in the 80s, Opah would be THE malay soap opera....prolly the first...i could be wrong here as well....oh well....
- why is it that i seem to memorize patriotic songs that were introduced/ sung back in school? why is it so hard for me to conjure the first few lines of "Jalur Gemilang" or "Keranamu Malaysia"..but its easy enough to sing "Sejahtera Malaysia" or "Setia" ? maybe its because the songs were fed into our minds at all times....i used to remember how, before the 8 oçlock news starts, they would play a clip of those songs...or in between shows, those clips would be shown...maybe that's why its easier to remember those songs...now, we get ads, ads, and more ads....i'm not against ads, as a matter of fact, i'm supposed to be an advocator of them, but maybe, with a little less adds, but more annoying songs in between, people would actually remember our patriotic songs? what's with being patriotic? well, sometimes, i guess we all need a little reminder of where we came from, and what we used to be, and being patriotic is a tiny step towards embracing our country, with all its shortcomings and triumphs...N.B...anyone remembers the Selangor song, when one of your primary school mates would sing "selamat di atas sasa.." instead of "selamat di atas takhta.."....hehehehe....
- earlier on i had wanted to post the lyrics to a certain Britney Spears song (!!) .. if words can speak, then the lyrics in that song can tell a million stories...most of which i have buried away, but at times, they keep resurfacing..so, i'm forced to ponder on them...not for long, i hope....i hate feeling this way...but as i progress with other songs from my playlist, i'm compelled to post lyrics of my most favourite group....at least it brings a smile....the default always works, and familiarity always works :)
- finally, can anyone tell me how to be content? to be truly content and to not feel inadequate? to not feel dumb, to not feel small, to not feel significant? to not feel upstaged? to not feel beastly? can anyone advise me on being happy for others? to be grateful for life's mercies? to be happy with minimal effort? to not wish unhappiness for others? now i know what it means to be belittled, now i know what it means to be patronized, not to be taken seriously, to be ridiculed, and to made to feel dumb...a role-reversal is bound to come at some point in my life, i guess...it makes me look back to how i've acted/behaved towards people in the past..and if any of you have been at the receiving end all those years, and felt the same way, i apologized, from the bottom of my heart..insecurity does that i guess, but we can't blame everything on that now, can we....look upon it, learn from it, and walk away with the lesson tucked neatly in the mind...
- sometimes i feel, it starts at the very bottom..you only reap what you sow, therefore, if what you plant is measly, then the results would be nothing right?
but what if that's not how the system works with me?
but it works for everyone else Dalie, you know that, and you saw that...
yeah, but that won't work for me, i'm different, not like them...
but what if you do the same, and be like them? don't you think you'll be happier in the end, more satisfied, more content, and inevitably, get what you want?
but what do i want?
i don't know, don't you think you're old enough to know that?
i don't know...all i know is i want them all, but minus the "bersusah-susah dahulu"...
well, then, you're only gonna get what you've been getting all this while...mediocre results, mediocre life, mediocre everything...is that enough for you?
isn't it?
i don't know, shouldn't you know the answer to that....?
i don't know anything anymore....
i need a traveling partner!! this is an outright advertisement and plea for sanity! anyone?
p/s: have you heard Jagged Edge sing "All OUt Of Love" ? lovely....the words ring clear and true..
I wish I could carry your smile in my heart
For times when my life seems so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow can bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know

- Outkast's "Hey Ya" -
the long silence was due to the "gatal" factor of changing my dissertation topic, hence, requiring me to resubmit a research proposal by 1 p.m. yesterday...and another "gatal"factor of switching subjects, requires me to register, and voila! the lecturer must have some kind of sixth sense and put my name on the list of students (before i could run off, i guess ) presenting their work-in-progress of our individual assessment, which is prolly only 5 minutes in progress, today!!! and me, being me, started on the proposal on monday...well, started constructing it in my head, that is!! finally finishing it by 11.30 a.m yesterday...just in time for me to get ready and rush off to meet my lecturer...but alhamdulillah, its all good...he thinks its FINE...and i think, its oh-so-damn-FYYNEEE!! hehehhehe..i'm much more interested to get started on my dissertation, and my mind is actually clear on where its going..for the first time! yaay! met Tom, looking all fyyne as well , hehehe, who had to run his dissertation through the lecturer..he's going back to Shanghai by the end of March so, he has to get it all done by then....while waiting for my lecturer outside his room, i met a fellow coursemate, (lupe lak his name) from SOuth India, who wanted to see the lecturer as well..we ended up comparing notes on the lectures and all...nice guy..even told me about his dissertation...that's one focused guy..he was doing something on advertisements on tube panels, and to see what kinds of adverts that gets the highest recalls from the public...interesting kan?
anyhoo, my work on my presentation this morning, started at approximately 11 p.m. last night, after ER..hehehe...and my presentation was when? that's right, 10 a.m. this morning! and since i have about an hour to get to school..that leaves me how much time? right again.....NOT MUCH!!! gaahh!!! i haven't started on anything! worked on it until about 5.45 a.m...stopping along the way cuz my pc was all panas, and i haven't prayed...finally crawled back to bed after finishing up the slides...got up at 8.45 p.m...itupun, sebab AInor woke me up by saying, "you bukan ade class ke pagi nie? "..yikes!! by then, my spirits was going down the drain..i was soo convinced that my presentation was shitty and crappy...so, decided to just go through with it...when i arrived in class, i found that i was actually slotted for next week! the lecturer made amendments! woohoo! so, i basically relaxed then on, and decided to add on more stuff to my slides..however, during the break, he found out that only 2 out of 5 students are presenting...errr..and my classmates were going, what?! you're actually presenting today? get it over with! *sigh* and i did...with a pounding heart, shaky fingers, and the usual breakneck speed of speech...i pulled it off...and alhamdulillah...that went well..he even liked some of my points! and i found that my slides are basically about the same length as the other 2...heheheh....yaay! now i don't have to worry about it anymore!
after class, had a little group meeting with my new group..this semester, my groupmates are Kai, this Thai guy, Deborah, a girl from Brazil and Cindy from Ghana...we hve to do a case study on IKEA..and someone suggested a field trip there..hehehe...Kai is comel, so best sikit kerja this sem, haha! but we were all so mamai after class, that the meeting was cut short...i went home, had lunch, then slept till 9 p.m.!! teruknye....makan dinner ngan Ainor (she cooked) when she got back from class...had masak asam ikan salmon, sayur campur and ayam black pepper...yums! finished off ngan B&J's Half-baked ice cream...
my self-confidence is boosted today, as i felt that my classmates have actually acknowledged my presence ( and now, knows my name!! )...as i came in late for the programme ( about a month after it started actually), i've been feeling a little bit insignificant, as everyone knows everyone and they have little chats and jokes around...i'm basically known only to my groupmates..and a few others...haha, that was a first for me! usually, i perasan people know who i am.. :p but today, i had people calling me by my name, saying well-done and all...and as much as i hate to get all inflated, but it felt really nice..it even made up for the fact that i went to school with greasy hair..hehehe....
i'm getting sleepy again...nak tengok Back to Reality..this new reality show with all the ex-reality shows participants yang was carefully chosen...its set in a mansion which is built in a studio..so its basically indoors, but they have natural lighting and all...they even have a road made, and the particiapnts arrived on the first day in a limo, right up to the front door...i'm rooting for Rik, ex- Pop Idol participant and Riccardo, this guy from the Salon...more about reality shows next time..
nak gi call my mom!

What a difference a day made....
Hello, Dolly,
Well, hello, Dolly
It's so nice to have you back where you belong
You're lookin' swell, Dolly
I can tell, Dolly
You're still glowin', you're still crowin'
You're still goin' strong
We feel the room swayin'
While the band's playin'
One of your old favourite songs from way back when
- Louis Armstrong's "Hello Dolly"-
I'm feeling so lethargic..it could be due to the amount of food that i have consumed within these 2 days..and yet, i've sent out an order for a chocolate bar with Ainor who's going out to get her bus pass...i am sleepy and yet, i had more than enough sleep last night...i am dying to start some work on my dissertation and yet, i can't even construct the first sentence of my research proposal...
yesterday was spent at Portobello Market and the famed Oriental city, both impromptu visits, as we're not supposed to leave the house due to the amount of work we're both faced with...but with the imminent threat of kehabisan ikan bilis and cili kering, we decided to give Oriental City a visit..and then, alang-alang we've bought the day travel card, we decided to make the journey to ladbroke grove, where Portobello MArket is...
woke up late..gahh! after a hurried shower and breakfast, we ran off to Clapton's train station and took the wagn to Liverpool St station..and from there, took the Hammersmith line to Ladbroke Grove...Portobello Market is across the road from the station, and is set underneath a freeway...it was filled with stalls selling the funkiest attires and accessories...hippy-chick haven! we just browsed our way along...found a lovely purple velvet jacket, but its so impractical despite its price..*sigh*..and some stalls are selling those thai trousers (the wraparound ones that provides the world with a glimpse of your thighs..), and AInor whispered how in Thailand you can prolly get it for RM10..walked till we reached a junction , where Ainor spotted the "Makan" restaurant, a cafe offering Singaporean and Malaysian food...we bought currypuff, not because lapar sangat pun, just wanted to taste the food..it was ok...in front of Makan is this stall selling cds...so, i got myself "The JAzz Station" which i'm currently listening to...ehehee..my foray into jazz music la kononnye...was tempted to get a box set, but just settled for one..manela tau, nanti sick of listening to jazzy stuff...we left shortly after that, but not before Ainor bought herself a crepe with Nutella and bananas..yums! guess who had enormous bites? *grin*
went back on the tube, this time towards Kings Cross, where we changed to Northern line that will take us to Colindale (the nearest tube station to Oriental City) ...Ainor promptly fell asleep, while i amused myself with John Grisham's "King of Torts"..*hai, bilelaa nak habis baca nie..* got off at Colindale, and according to the instructions on Oriental City's website, turn right after the station and walk on..and walk on we did...gee, the place is soo serene, its hard to imagine that we're actually still in London..like my dad would say, macam kat Serendah aje...hehehe...finally arrived at Oriental CIty about 10 minutes later, vowing to take a buss next time (lazy bums!!) ...
masuk je the mall, which was formerly known as Yaohan PLaza (!!), we were taken aback sekejap..."eh, macam IOI Mall kat Puchong laaa..." from the tiles underneath our feet to the small stage at its concourse and those teak benches that serves as seats for the audience..had a peek at the Food Court...btw, Ainor had cravings for satay so that was another reason to make this trip...waaa, soo like One Utama's foodcourt! you know, with all the stalls encircling the seating area...found 2 Malaysian stall, one selling indian fares like chappati, roti canai, tosai (yummss!!) , roti planta and nasi beriyani....and another selling nasi goreng kampung, keutiow/mee/meehoon rebus, satay, cendol, among others...and AInor found a stall selling watermelon juice..that kinda made her day as she was craving for it since what, November??
went to the Supermarket and bought some groceries..i got myself a packet of petai..muahahaha, padan muke my housemates!! heheheh...got some pak choys, asam jawa, teh tarik Nona, asam boi, ikan bilis and cili kering in small packages yang macam mahal je, buah longan, cili merah among other things...was quite a relief actually to see such familiar things, especially those sayurs, as we have been on a constant veggie diet of carrots, broccolis, cauliflowers and peas...so nice to see green things like kailan, bayam, sawi...but end up tak beli pun :p the fridge is quite full as Kak Iza have been stocking up for her husband's stay here...then we had lunch at the Food Court, where i had the meehoon rebus ( a bit the manis, actually) and some ice lemon honey drink, and Ainor had her satay and watermelon juice...the satay was just mediocre, as a matter of fact, it looked and tasted fried....hmm...the system is that you order and pay and they'll give you a number..at the front of each stall is a digital display of the number currently being served...so it was kinda funny cuz, one of us would be jaga-ing our stuff, then springing up when our number comes up, and ran to the stall, passing the other on the way "jaga barang tu kejap" while the other ran off to our table...hehehe....it was a fulfilling lunch, besar gile portion..well, for someone who's used to the meagre portions served at out local gerais, particularly in the Kajang/Bangi area :p it came as a surprise to me...the japanese food stall was tempting, but maybe next time..we even bought some kuih bakar and kaya at the stalls...
took the bus back to the tube station, then we decided to take the tube to Angel and take the 56 home where it would dump us right across our house...habis tu kalau pergi Angel tak jalan?? hehehe..masuk MArks and Spencers laa, pergi market kejap laa, Masuk Sainsbury's beli MORE groceries laa (read: bagel and Ben & Jerry's Half-baked ice-cream...*rolls eyes* )..masuk Gap, Next, Monsoon and DIva, saje menghabiskan tenaga yang macam dah very low...and finally went home....
makan bagel and rice cakes slathered with cream cheese....boleh tak?? soo healthy kan...habis dah the cream cheese cuz i keep licking it out of its jar..hehe...watched "Who wants to be a millionaire: Valentine's Day version" and CSI Miami....before the bomb falls....
Dear God, i pray for the safety of my family..please, please, please....and my dearest buds, just check on them if u guys happened to be in the area k...thanks...

And its Valentine's Day...
Ketika jiwamu … merasuk ke dalam
Aliran darahku dan meracuniku …
Ketika jiwamu … memeluk hatiku
Dan biarkan jiwaku … cumbui jiwamu..
- Dewa’s “Mistikus Cinta” -
It was love at first sight, wasn’t it? Well, it was for me…funny how it strikes me the moment I fell for you then…when I didn’t know anything about you, save your name…could it even be weirder that it was the first time I noticed you in a new light? When all this while you were always there..well, maybe it was because you stood out that day, instead of overshadowed by your friends…and I was blinded all the while…
Does love feel like this? Not merely butterflies in my tummy nor goosebumps on my arms whenever I see you…but the aches that comes along within this heart of mine, whenever I think of you…did you know? Was I obvious? Did u know that at that one meeting when, our eyes met, and polite smiles were exchanged, my heart was already in your hands….
I wondered if you could feel the same way about me…or would you be mean and only feel like you’ve just scored at making another girl blush at your antics…well, I’m sure you’re not like that…then again, I might be biased here as I badly wanted you to turn out like how my fantasy ends…could we share the same fantasies?
Do you believe in love at first sight? I do…but then again, my sight have failed me once..and, so I’ve heard, yours did as well…but, this time, I think it might be for real…do you feel the same way? Could you feel the same way? …I have often wondered…could this be it? Could this be the one? For I’m afraid to know if its not…let it be unknown to me should you turned out to be another fragment of my imagination…
If we’re not meant to be, i don’t want to know..let me just drown in my fantasies for a while..let me believe in the power of fate and destiny, and let me be swayed by my dreams till I find my enchanted kingdom, where nothing else matters, but you and me…
Don’t tell me it was all a mistake…don’t tell me there was nothing there..don’t tell me that we can’t be what I dreamt us to be…
I fell in love with you the moment we first met…was it wrong of me to fall so hard, to love too much?…for I know, you would never love me in that way…it was love at first sight, my breaking of dawn, my first rays of sun after a heavy rain, my cure for all my pain…the kind of love that will changed my world, and makes everything seems so much more than what it is…that makes me treasure every minute, every second, and makes it all worth while…
My heart is now in your hands…handle it gently, won’t you? I don’t want my world to crush with it again….

pheww...it has been a while, hasn't it? well, blame it on my EXTREMELY MOODY IE browser...have been experiencing problems which involved popped up error messages with the most annoying "Operation Aborted"words on it..grrr! i've asked left, right and center for solutions..and one dear cousin of mine,Kak Idah back in Malaysia, suggested that i change my browser and see if the problem persisted..and it didn't! yaay!! thank you!! i was afraid that the probem was caused by the fact that i don't have any anti-virus software installed.....i know!! how careless can i be!! after almost 5 months of using this notebook! i called my brother up, who, btw, was in charge of configuring messy stuff on my pc before i got it, and screamed, "D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have anti-virus!!!!!!!".."Alamak! Kita lupe!!!"....one can imagine him slapping his broad forehead, in the midst of a busy and smelly mamak stall...*sigh* now, i've to wait for them to mail me the software, as i'm too cheapskate to get it here, heheehe...and refrain from downloading anything from KazMazaa for the time being...oh, the agony!....at first, i even thought it was because of my decreasing memory space..so, i went and delete my R&R music folder that includes my newly-acquired Spanish songs...oh well, i'm better off collecting oldies and jazz music huh....and now, i'm a proud user of Mozilla! Mojilla, Mojilla, unga unga!
ok, nonsense over...Last Saturday Ainor and I went to Stoke-on-Trent on a rombongan Cik Kiah! Let me try and define what a rombongan Cik Kiah is: Picture this: A busload of 98% be-hijab/tudung-ed ladies, chatty voices exchanging gossips and recipes, big bulging bags of home-cooked food that ranged from Marks and Spencers salad to gulai lemak and nasi, not forgetting the right cutleries..all packed into a tour bus off on a journey to a pre-determined destination that will spark even more animated conversation upon hearing its name...heheheh....Stoke-on-Trent is somewhere in the Midlands (well, i was too busy catching up on my sleep to notice) known for its potteries..in short, you can find really, really cheap crockeries with glamorous brandnames such as Royal Doulton, Royal Albert, Wedgewood, Portmeirion and Aynsley, to name a few....they are not imitations (at least, i don't think so), but are actually "seconds" which are basically rejects, for the minor and minute defects...really, really tak nampak....and the lovely patterns and great quality tableware can all be found in this tiny and sleepy town...so, its really, really good buy, as it displays the actual price and the "seconds" price..so, u can imagine, what the savings are for a tiny serving dish that was originally priced at about 14 pounds, reduced to a mere 3 pounds...domestic products heaven!
I had strict instructions from my mom to get 12 serving dishes of a certain pattern.."kalo takde, tak payah!"..ok maa...while Ainor, is more ambitious and aims to collect a whole set! we're talking a full range of all the thingy-whingy on the table, ranging from the dinner plates to the teapot... so, Saturday morning, at about 6.15 a.m., we rushed out to Malaysian Hall to catch the 7 a.m. bus...the thing is, we were sorely lacking sleep, as the night before, we had accompanied Kak Iza, who had to pick her hubby up from Victoria Station..so, Friday night, at about 11.40 p.m., we took the 38 to Victoria, only to find that her hubby is already there..so we basically, turun bas, tunggu kejap for the conducter to do whatever, and then hop back on the same bus home...hehehe..arrived at about 2 a.m...we had about 3 hours to sleep before waking up to get ready to go to Malaysian Hall...yang bestnye, both of us have no liquid cash! arrghh! sampai je Tottenham Court Road, rushed to the nearest ATM, and withdrew cash...and rushed all the way to Malaysia Hall...nasib baik bas tak sampai lagi...hehehe...
met the "Cik Kiah" of the journey, Aunty Jemayah, who, incidentally, was the person who took my mom on a similar journey a few years back! hehehe, as a matter of fact, my mom told me to send her regards, and to expect her and my dentist for another trip in July, insya-Allah...there was only 2 male members of the rombongan, both respecitive husbands of 2 ladies...extremely sporting they are...siap tolong pilihkan the patterns, and carry the extremely heavy packages...
anyways, we arrived at Stoke at about 11 a.m, and the first shop we went in was the Wedgewood factory outlet store., where this segerombolan ladies, rushed in, and started exclaiming at the first batch of pinggans by the door! Aunty Jemayah was warning us to hurry and to make our purchase carefully as we were aiming to complete the tour of as many shops as possible...woah...terror jugak stamina these ladies..shopping punye pasal, there was no sign of fatigue! i was tempted to get some stuff, but just settled for a cake dish that looks really pretty..if my mom doesn't want that, i can always give that to my aunt or something...we were only given an hour for each shop, and if the shop cam kureng menarik, only 1/2 an hour! hehehe..macam lipas kudung makcik-makcik tu shopping! its unbelievable to see what they are queuing up to pay for, sebabnye, i was like thinking, bukan tadi dah beli 6 bowl ke kat kedai lain..nie more bowls lagi..tak sama pattern pulak tu! oh well, collectables kot...the ladies kept exclaiming how "beli banyak2, tapi balik rumah nanti, guna yang lama jugak"...exactly like my mom...sayang nak gune..nak tunggu orang datang merisik laa..eh whoops...Ainor was looking at these ladies and going, i miss my mom! yup, me too...i can imagine her blending into this crowd like a salamander..eheheh...
we went to Spode after that, then to 3 Portmeirion shops, then 2 Royal Doulton Co. stores, Aynsley (not in order)..can't really remember what other shops we went in, but we managed to sapu the lot..it was soo funny to see that at the end of the day, when the sky is already dark, and the guys behind the counter at one of the stores looked happy to be closing up soon, and suddenly, there's this stampede of loud malaysian women! hehhehehe...we didn't even have time for lunch, so when the bus stops at one of the shops, me and Ainor rushed off to the Kwiksave supermarket to grab something to eat...we were so grateful to the ladies in the bus who kept on feeding us, karipap laa, macaroni goreng laa..yums! we could only offer them crisps! :p
Stoke-on-Trent is a small and peaceful town..pretty too surrounded by green fields..the town buildings are really close together, so the roads are smaller..but soo laa the sleepy...even the kebab shops weren't open during lunchtime! its nice to get away and look at some place less flurried than London, altho'if i were to stay and study there, i'll go nuts! Ainor got her set of crockeries at the Royal Doulton store, so we had to lug that as well...and both of us got a few other pieces from other shops as well...made a few friends...Izzati, the gorgeous wife of the Felda MArketing personnel in London, who was kind enough to give us her husbands contact number should we need some practical experiences...Uncle Ismail, one of the 2 thorns in the bus amused us with his never-ending jokes, and endeared us with his antics and the way he layan-ed his wife...those ladies can really shop...they kept on buying and buying...and by the end of the day, the underbelly compartment of the bus was filled with packages...hehehe..they kept on commenting how the bus is slow, cuz its too heavy! and indeed, when they unload all those pinggans and all those ladies, the bus seemed to move more smoothly...we were very lucky that Aunty Jemayah stays in Hackney, so the bus would deliver us to Kelab Melayu, which is not far from our house..kitorang dah risau dah as to how we would get home from Malaysia Hall, on a bus, on a Saturday night...despite the heavy and bulky and precious breakables, we managed to make it home....phewww....
btw, yesterday was my best bud, Afti's birthday!! Happy birthday dearie!! haha..sekarang awak dah sama umur ngan saya, so u can't act all mengada2 anymore..hehehe...btw, go ahead with ur heart on ur decisions...whatever it is, at least u'll be happy with it..and me and eileen will always support you on that aiight! carpe diem!
on another note, i've changed classes again! i am now taking service sector marketing..and padan muke..after complaining about the lack of classes and work to do this sem...KERBLAMM!! both lecturers are expecting a presentation and a proposal from me by next week! yaay! i officially will not have any social life starting from tomorrow! (tonight relax dulu, sambil tgk Miss Congeniality *sigh* Benjamin Bratt ..)
on another note *berapa banyak note daa..* Kerry McFadden is the Queen of the Jungle from "I'm a Celebrity: Get ME Out Of Here!"! yaay! you go girl! i always thought she had it in her...although, Jenny did impress me when she ate all those live things for her last challenge, and when she stayed in the coffin-like box, with rats crawling up and down her body and face, and all she did was sing quietly to keep herself focused...woah..tabik spring satu!
hmm..so Valentine's day falls on a Saturday this year huh? what do i make of that? well, we'll just wait and see...

- Dewa's "Kasidah Cinta" -
i need a muse...
i used to be able to string pretty words together and be proud of them...maybe it was because of the muse i had..maybe its because of my romantic notions...now, zip, zilch, nada....and i hate that....
my classes have already started...came early on monday morning, only to find that the first class of the semester is starting about an hour later...so, hung around till it started...it was not a designated option for my subject, so, no familiar faces there...and because its an option, the class is much smaller..that morning there was only about 15 of us..the number's not gonna get any bigger, i think....Strategic Management for International Hospitality and Tourism...which sounded interesting, especially for lil old me who have always debated on going to a hotel management school since Form 3..well, at least, dapat belajar the subject..and best of all, no exams! purely coursework, which should actually be even more dangerous for me, considering the amount of "effort" i put into them...but, insya-Allah, i'll try not to do that again this time....i also took down other interesting subject's timetables just to check the classes out...that should keep me busy kan? dahlaa tak dapat kerja, so, i might as well busy myself with attending lots of classes...*merajuk*
on tuesday, had my Brand Equity class, with one of my favourite lecturers, Niall...yup, he still remembers me...which is kinda dangerous, cuz he loves to pick on people! i was with Debra, my classmate from Brazil, and she told me, in a low voice, that she hates that...its so nerve-wrecking! hehehe....that class went well, most of them were my previous classmates anyway, and a few new ones...he gave us our reading list, and told us to get the required textbook as soon as possible .."Dalie, have you gone to the bookshop? "...*sengih-ed* "not yet.."..."well, go right after class, and get the book. I'm gonna make sure that all the books i ordered are sold out.." alamak....small wonder that the bookshop was crowded with our classmates after the lecture..but its a cool-looking book, and by far the cheapest of all my textbooks, prolly due to it being a paperback and smaller than other textbooks...it definitely does not look like a textbook...
and today...decided to check out 2 other classes...the ones i'm not registered into which included Environmental Management for International Tourism, and Buyer Behaviour....well, the first class was only attended by 7 people, and the lecturer also looked like an environmental activist...*sigh*...i'm all for environmental causes, but this morning, my sleepiness precedes that...maybe sebab malam tadi bergayut on the phone with my mom, and chatting to the early-morning online friends...the second class was no better...first, i got lost looking for the class...then found out it was in the new block..by the way, we have a new, futuristic looking block, a futuristic silver-metal facade, with futuristic looking desks..other than that, hmm, cam my old alma mater je...hehhehe...the lecturer in this class was a little unbearable...so much so that i started to feel my eyelids drooping by the first half of the session....decided to take off as, hey, i'm not officially supposed to be here pun...but kesian laa pulak my classmate si Asrar tu...earlier on, when the lecturer wanted to put us into groups, he signalled to me that i would be in his group with Nancy, this cute girl from Greece..but i didn't have the chance to tell him discreetly, that i'm not taking up the subject..so, when break came, went over and told him, chatted for a bit, then told him to ask this attractive Turkey girl, Funda (whom he have had his eyes on for quite some time, heheehe..) to join his group..then i left the class..funny how a walk down to the bus stop could erase all sleepiness..heheheh...
oh, btw, met another Malay girl in uni today..yay! the second one! hehehe..funny how i met Kak Yani in the first sem, and Kak Shawa earlier tadi, in the second sem...like it was all planned...and the best thing was, she's been here for 3 years! and i never once bump into her! she's doing her Phd in Maths, attached to UITM, along with her hubby who's also doing his Phd and attached to the same uni...i was trying to open the door to the prayer room, but i've forgotten the lock combination...saw a girl with tudung coming, and i went up to her...hmm, macam melayu..."excuse me, are you going to the prayer room? ".."yes"..."are you malaysian? ".."err, yes.."..."are you a Melayu??"...hehehehhe...chatted for a bit after prayers, but she was rushing off to meet her supervisor and i had to attend my class...so, just exchanged numbers...alhamdulillah....btw, Safurah, kalo awak baca nie...she remembers u!!! one of the few malay students in the uni.... :) and awak, die pregnant 7 months!
i still want my muse and pure, childish romance back...how?

A weekend with the cousin...
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend
- Carole King's "You've Got A Friend" -
It was a lovely weekend, dear cousin, even though the trip to Greenwich tak jadi :p hehehhe...
Paid off the second installation of my tuition fees on Friday morning (more like Friday afternoon!)..pheww....that's one load off my mind..and even that have to be done at the last minute, as it was the last day to pay the fees..hehehe..met Tom, from my Marketing Communications group..*sigh*..gimme a Chinese guy with an American/British accent anytime...plus a rugby player body! *swoon*...bumped into him twice lagi! ehhehe...pity he's finished with the course, don't think i'll be seeing him anytime soon.... :(
did a little bit of grocery after that...got some stuff for the guest we were gonna have, hehehe...that includes those yummylicious chocolate-covered Hob Nobs..yumms! after prayers, went off to Euston to pick Tina up...got home to Nasi Ayam prepared by Kak Iza and Ainor...ashamed to say this, but we polished off the WHOLE pot of rice! watched the vcd of Tina's sister's (Kak Bin) wedding, the usual combo of Friday night shows..and ended the night with an Indonesian vcd, Andai Ia Tahu...synopsis: A guy and a girl was trapped in an elevator for a few hours, and within that span of time, got to know each other, and felt a little bit of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai laa...unfortunately, the guy's engaged and the girl's off to another city..but somehow, as the girl said, it was "kismet"..and off they went, looking for each other, employing a modern-day bomoh along the way ..i'll leave it to you guys to see how it ends, but let me know if u want the ending, hehe :p..verdict: it was an ok movie (Karina, jangan marah!)..Marcel (from Shanty and Marcel fame, who btw, goes by his real name Marcellius) is rather a rigid actor, but VERRRYY good looking...the girl, Rachel Mariam, is this sprightly young thing with GORGEOUS curly hair whose personality shines throughout the movies, lending to the movie its sparkle...pity bout Marcel's wig tho'...the story is kinda sweet, altho'i'd much prefer it if they had more scenes between the lovers...
slept late...woke up late to a rainy day...so, the Greenwich plan was scrapped...lepak around, Tina cooked corned-beef nasi goreng..yums! i can go on without eating rice for a week, but put nasi goreng in my face, and i can finish 3 huge plates! no guesses as to where all the bulk came from huh? hehehe...and then Tina decided to get her younger sister, Nana, a Peter Pan outfit for a costume party..so, off we went, on the 38 to Oxford Street...arrgh! before that, when we wanted to get a bus pass for Tina, Miss Clumsy here a.k.a. Cik Dalie yang tak serik-serik lagi, altho' she's confined to a lifetime of knee braces and potential early athritis, had to put her foot into some unseen crack on the pavement, kinda freak-twisted her ankle, and ending in a grand finale of falling, one-kneed, into a puddle, with the hands up in the air..sungguh memalukan! so, i had a patch of muddy splodge on my right knee..wanted to go home to change but the bus arrived, so just jumped on it, muddy jeans all...decided, oh well, let's just sport the hippy/klutzoid/no cares attitude and attire for the day..what better place than Oxford Street, huh? ....checked out the Disney store for the suit..they even have a Captain Hook outfit with the ruffles down his front! soo cute! ..unfortunately, too expensive la pulak the Peter Pan costume, so decided not to buy it...walked in a few shops, where they got a few things...it was raining and the crowd was stifling...so, we went off to Bayswater to have lunch at his halal restaurant...i had the falafel in pita bread (first time makan falafel!), Ainor had this chicken and lamb kebab, while Tina had this soo sedap shish kofta...yum! this restaurant has a small floor space in its basment, so we've been praying there whenever we have a meal there...then went to Boots, where Ainor bought 2 lip gloss!! hehehe...she wanted to rush off home to catch CSI Miami, but Tina wanted to go see Mariam, her stewardess cousin, to get some stuff..so, Ainor went off home, while me and Tina went to catch a bus to Kensington High Street, where Mariam's staying...
met Mariam, lepaked for a while in her hotel room, ate belated raya cornflake cookies which was soo crucnchy, took a few pictures, then went home...it was really windy that night, and we had to wait for a while before the bus came..grr...so, decided to just hop on to one that was going to Piccadilly Circus and tukar bus there...got off at Piccadilly, then went to the fountain in front of Lillywhites and did a very touristy thing: took pictures..hehehe...was kinda shy at first, but after mem-belasah-ing, saw a few groups also taking photo...i so love the place, it's soo lively, with people walking around, street musicians/performers, long queues of people going into clubs and bars...took the 38 home..got home to eat more of the nasi goreng..hehehe...we planned to join the Aidil Adha prayers at Malaysian Hall the next morning at 9 a.m...so, tried to sleep early...
next morning, Kak Iza decided not to go..and after dressing up in less flashy baju kurungs (haha!) rushed to catch the bus...we got there rather early, so took a leisurely walk to Bryanston Square..the women's praying area was barely filled when we arrived, so we sat and listened to the takbir..rindula pulak, cuz for Raya Aidilfitri, we arrived late and missed the takbirs...waited till the whole place filled up..and while waiting, Ainor managed to make friends with a certain Kak Salina, who apparently, is looking for people to fill up a bus chartered by a group from the Malaysian High Commision, going to Stoke-on-Trent... hehe..so guess we're heading to this Saturday? good job Ainor! dapat jugak berjalan...earlier, thought of going to Manchester this weekend..but as Kak Iza wants to come along and drag her hubby as well, we decided to postpone it so we could plan the whole thin properly..a little while later, Athirah, arrived and sat behind us...so chatted for a while...then the prayers started...after the khutbah, took some pictures, took the nasi bungkus (hehe, nasi bungkus je for Raya Haji), went out, met Shima, who told us the new pengantin, Huda, couldn't make it...alaa, nak jumpe Puan Huda! eheheh...Shima asked if we wanted to watch Phantom of the Opera? Hello??!! Of course! so she promised to get in touch with us for the next theatre gang outing..hehehe....
walked all the way to Hyde Park to eat our nasi bungkus of nasi minyak and ayam masak merah...hmm, after all this while of planning to go to Hyde Park on a nice Sunday morning to listen to the speakers at Speaker's Corner, i managed to kinda do that on sunday...but from afar, we heard the guy launching on an all out bellow which had tinges of Christianity, so we decided not to risk it...Ainor brought along the skirt which she bought the day before to exchange it at H&M, but all the shops would only be open at 12 p.m.! we had about an hour an a half! so, went to the Ben & Jerry stall and had waffles and ice-cream...makan lagi!...pagi-pagi buta pulak tu! ehhehe...free advertisement lagi for B&J as we took hungry bites at the waffle and slurp the smackerdoodlicious choc fudge brownie ice-cream by the stall...more yums! so, hung round till 12...masuk Books Etc, where i amused myself with the books, and Ainor felt asleep at one of the couches..hehehe...exchanged her skirt, went into a few more shops..then went home on the 55...
we were beat, so after making plans to catch a movie later, both of them slept...i went online, even tho'i was soo sleepy, found Rey, Karina and Ainurul online and started chatting...harruummmppphh..tak tido jugak...by the time they got up, it was raining, and none of us had the mood to go out...so, we cooked some dinner, and had a feast of fried rice, fried chicken, smiley face potatoes, garlic and mushroom pizza, and lovely, lovely keropok ikan and udang...went to sleep early as Tina had to catch an early train the next morning, and i have already started my classes, but unfortunately, didn't know where the classes are located nor what time they start, so i had to go early to find out...went to school on the 253, which also took Tina to Euston....pheww...and that was my weekend with my dear cousin, Tina Yoohoo....it was a blast! had great conversations over matters that have been steaming in our minds, had loads of food, and generally, had a nice time with a member of the family :) come again aiight...you're very the welcome!
by the way, i have added the link to a most talented blogger...hope she doesn't mind... :) mind-blowing stuff, i tell you....plus, * i hope you're not going to kill me if i do this, but the Nonz did it first, so u can kill her off first..haha! sorry Nonz for the lack of loyalty :p * i've decided to add your link Miss A.N...hope you don't mind, but if you do, just say the word, and i'll take you off the list...but you're still on my favourite list laa...i can't get by without the *almost* daily dose of humour, sarcasm, down-to-earthness, and generally, ke-sangat-comel-an of you! hehehe..haa, don't blush now ;)
