The Other Side Of THe Street

Put your head against my life
What do you hear
A million words just trying to make
The love song of the year

- Take That's "A Million Love Songs" -

i have surpassed myself...hehehe..i made Maggi Goreng yesterday...no, seriously, i fried/ cooked/ throw things into the wok Maggi Goreng...Nonz, nak challenge Elle Chico's fried meehoon..hehhehe...and i made mashed potatoes tadi! i know it doesn't come as a considerable achievement to some (might even be sneered by those of Chef Wan's proportions), but it's a big thing for me! i don't cook! well, not usually..and preparing a dish, undictated by mom, is pretty inconceivable to my mind before...reviews: ntah, diorang cakap sedap...hehehe (up, up, up...) nie yang kena try dengan my brother nie, King of Mamaks Frequenters...

anyway, been a little busy for the past few days...on Tuesday, woke up to Ainor jumping up and down with 2 grey parcels...yay, our network cables have arrived!!! i have jumped on the bandwagon by shopping online on ebay, where i purchased those cables from a certain entity called 'bobtailed'....don't ask...anyways, no more running over to Kak Iza's room with our notebooks! so, dengan pajamas and rumpled hair, we set about hooking it to the broadband hub....while Ainor got hers through merrily, i was having problems with mine...it wouldn't connect and the hub didn't light up when i hooked my cable to it...arrrgghhhh!!!! TENSI!!!!! sheesh...it must have been a faulty one they sent me..so, emailed "bobtailed"and requested for a new one...after an agonizing day, finally got a reply...cheh! apparently they got the orders mixed up, and sent me a network crosswork cable, instead of a patch cable....boleh tak? sabar je laa...and they told me to keep the one i have, cuz they wouldn't be needing it (and also as a compensation), and they'll send a new one over....now, what am i going to do with the 25 metres of cables i have? buat menyemak laci je...and i'm still waiting for the new one to arrive....nie sumer pasal Royal Mail mogoklaa...all the mails are messed up....my bank statement pun tak sampai lagi!! grr, grr....

i've gotten my student photocard in the mail last week, and now i can buy my bus passes at a much cheaper rate..finally! after my noon class on Monday, took the bus to Hackney Central to get my monthly bus pass..now i can get lost on my own leisure for a month! having a bus pass is such a blessing for me, cause i have the tendency to "melencong", not to mention, getting lost too...hehehe...bought some socks as well...

oh, i finally went to the Department of Trade & Industry on Victoria Street...took the 38 till the last stop, and walked down the road....found tons of material for my hot chocolate study, alhamdulillah..its a nice place, with friendly and helpful personnel, and really, really nice toilets! hehehe..the guy in charged even started my search for me...stayed for about an hour gathering data and printing them....when i walked out of the building, i found Book Bargains, a discount bookstore..yay! nasib baiklaa dah nak tutup, was already fingering a Jeffrey Archer..hehehe...

unfortunately, that wasn't the same case when i walked on the other side of the street yesterday...i usually crossed the road outside my uni, and walk along that side of the street till i reach my busstop...but yesterday, i decided to walk on the other side...discovered less attractive shops on this side...however, spied Traid, a shop that trades second-hand stuff....walked in, and walked out with a cheap Frank McCourt's "Angela's Ashes"...*sigh*...this has got to stop..as a matter of fact, was holding on to another also, Sushi For BEginners (Marian Keyes)...after reading Nonz's Under The Duvet, by her as well (and laughed my head off in the Komuter months back), i'm dying to read another novel by her too...

when i first came in to uni about a month back, most of my classmates had formed groups of their own, and i had to "menagih simpati" and ask around if they might need any extra member...i was lucky for one subject, when Tom and gang was short of one...for the other subject, i wasn't so lucky, so i had to do the coursework all by myself, which, i think, kinda serves me right, for making up my mind and entering so late..takpelaa, the tutor is very helpful, and i'm able to manage (so far...)..now, for another subject, i was left hanging with those 2 guys, Saltuk and Deepak...which was ok, cuz they're really nice and laidback, but also, got the job done (so far jugak...) well, it came as a surprise tadi masa menunggu for our lab session to start, a few other guys came up to us, asking to be a part of our group...we were ok about that, but we were curious..just a few week ago, nobody wanted to be our groupmate..today, banyak laa pulak..turns out, they were having problems with their current groupmates...2 guys, Anene and Asrar, had problems with their dominant female groupmembers, who did things their way without consulting the rest first....hehehe...cam hot stuff laa pulak....i guess, i wouldn't mind...as long as they put in the elbow grease as well...one of our new groupmate, Alfred, introduced himself to me, and asked for my name...and he told me "I'm in your group"....i replied,"No, no....you are in MY group now"...hehehe....gelak besar budak tu....

Totz, that song will remain one of my favourite Take That song...brings memories rushing to my mind...terdengar masa jalan2 kat market tadi....it showcases Gary BArlow's great vocals..if only he's less of a stocky fella and with more attitude, mesti boleh rival Robbie...hehheh...i sorang je minat die masa tu...btw, my prayers and good luck wishes are with you....tiny advicë: be prepared, keep a level head, jangan get emotional sangat (just in case), go easy on the makeup, dress nicely, perfume, lots of prayers, and a BIG smile! hehehhe...tiny advice jer....ALL THE BEST!!!
