At the Beginning
Like a flower bending in the breeze
Bend with me, sway with ease
When we dance you have a way with me
Stay with me, sway with me
- Michael Buble's "Sway" -
my fingers are actually almost numb, my back is aching and my feet is screaming for rest...but i can't leave till i jot my jumbled thoughts down...i've been away for quite some time, and it seemed funny to get back into the mood of wriing down EVERYTHING....in fact, i think i might have lost it...eepss....
anyways, how's it goin peps? i've been gone for a while, and insya-Allah, if time permits it, i'll be back updating...dah rusty dah this blue background of mine, but somehow, looking at it soothes me...its like coming home, or looking at your favorite story book, or gazing at your favorite bantal busuk...ape nie...i'm crapping again...i think that is what happens to over-sored limbs..they send signals to the brain so the fingers will write C.R.A.P....
i, of course, have soo much to tell..heck, even in one mundane day, i can fill up the page..hey, guess what? as i type these words, i'm getting the familiar feeling again..the feeling of wanting to tell the whole world what i had for dinner..ehhehe...lame joke, i know...
i'm actually in one of my housemates room..the broadband hub-thingamajig is in her room, so i gotta carry my notebook over to her room, lie on her floor and type my heart out...i know i should get a network cable, and i did pesan one from my family back home..but brother dearest has gotten mixed up with the telephone cable..so now, i have 20 metres of unwanted telephone cable with me...sheesh...why 20 metres? well, simply because the geographical location of the notebooks and the hub in the house requires such a long one...wanna know about the geography here? well, let me tell you...
(at this point u can either grab a pillow, or resume your work at the office *you devil, you*, or else, be prepared to be bored/fascinated/nauseated at what might be a long entry...depends on how long i can stand having a stiff neck, or until my housemate shoos m from her room..fat chance tho..*whisper*..she's fast asleep under those heavy covers...)
*cracks knuckle*
welcome to my humble abode..and when i say humble, i mean humble with a capital H...i'm staying with 2 other postgraduates..Ainor and Kak Iza...i'm actually sharing a room with Ainor, a student from City University studying Property Investment/Finance, a graduate from UM...we are occupying the top floor of this Pakistani's family home in dodgy, gangsta-paradise-ish Clapton, about an hour away on those red buses from central London...we're actually in Zone 2, which suits me fine, cuz my uni's also in the same zone..back to the house...camane nak describe aa...literally, we're renting the top floor (so much for saying top floor, when it's only a double-storey house, hehehe)...there's 3 rooms upstairs, a tiny kitchen, toilet and separate bath...the three of us took up pretty much everything, except for one room, which the landlord (Sis Shaheeda) used for her itsy bitsy cutie daughter, Shazia, to sleep in at night...its pretty much a junk room, with a cot in the middle..go figure...Shazia is a cute little thing tho'...in the mornings when she wakes up, and when she remembers o, she would push open the door to our side and called out "Auntie.."but after that she'll speak some words in her own tongue, then kitorang pun sengih je laa...
my shared room with Ainor is a small one, i wouldn't say a box.but then again, i've never seen those box room either..but alhamdulillah, it is a room...nasib baik there's only two of us...however, at the early stages of my penghijrahan, we crammed 9 giggly girls for dinner on two nights in a row... it used to be Ainurul and Safurah's room, till they went back to Malaysia and Ainor and myself took over...Kak Dzun Noraini is now curently staying with us till she goes back to Malaysia this friday..she has finished her masters degree in chemical engineering at UCL, and is just hanging round for a bit before going home to report to UIA where she would resume her role as an academician...
my last entry was written the afternoon ust before i left Leicester.well, let me tell you...that was one of the most memorable day of my life!..dengan penuh machonye, i've crammed one of my suitcase with as many clothes and things as i can carry, and bought one of those shopper bags to isi all my dapur things and food...but it was a little bit heavy, i admit, at first...takpelaa...so the initial plan of going to the bus station on the local bus was scrapped, and i took a cab...i remembered after luggingmy stuff into the boot of the cab, the driver asked me where i was going, i replied London, and he said "Travelling light, huh?"hehhehe....my plan was, dengan penuh machonye, was to take the tube from Victoria Tube station till Liverpool Street Station, then change naik Wagn sampai Clapton terus..fom there i'd walk over to the house, dah tak jauh dah...
what i didn't take into account was lugging those two heavy bags as well...
when i reahed the coach station, my dad had smsed me to take a cab to the tube station, which was only about less than 5 minutes away...bt as i turun from the bu, this british-african gus came up to me with this trolley and asked me, "where you want to go? Train station? Underground?"rupa2nye, he was a walking taxi...so i engaged his service, then he wheeled my stuff sampai the tube station5 pounds die charge, ..itu ok lagi...but the ultimate best part was..there was no escalator at the tube station...i didn't realise that..as a matter of fact, there were no escalator at all throughout my wholejourney home.ther were stairs, stairs, and more stairs..... i walked to the first descending stairs, and was like, ok, how am i gonna do this...alhamdulillah, this Brit, walked past me and offered to help me carry it down..yang bestnye, i chose to arrive at london mase orang semua nak balik kejer, boleh tak?! so, there i was, waiting for the train...bile train datang je, the door opened, the crowd rushes in and out, and tak sempat i nak move both FEET (apa lagi suitcase), the door closes, and off it goes....3 kali!!!! by the last time, i position mysef betul-betul dekatthe edge of the platform, and as soon as the door opens, i campak my bags inside...hehehe, nasib baik dapat masuk..itu nak ignore the curious stares lagi...rase cam nak stare balik je...sheesh...bythe end of the night, i was ready to just chuckone of the bags away...mampus aa..dah tak kisah dah...dahlaa bulky, clanking pulak tu, sebab i had my pot and pan and canned and bottled food...berat toksah nak cakaplaa...kalau orang nak curi pun, i rela surrender them...
well, let's just say, that night je, ade 4 different mat salleh yang helped me with my bags up and down stairs...bile sampai Liverpool Street Station je, thought it was all over, and was ready to relax.tengok-tengok, one of the station somewhere had a kebakaran..and most of the trains were delayed..arghhhh!!!! there was sooo many people there...and i needed to get across the station pulak tu..dahlaa tak tau mane nak beli tickets, and dalam ramai2 tu, couter pun tak nampak...so after much shuffling and excuse-me-ing..i managed to get across..tengok2, the ticket couter was on the OTHER side!!! arrgghhhh...so, it was back to shuffling those bags, half pulling half dragging them, excuse me, excuse me lagi just to buy the ticket ...then tunggu train sampai..bile dah sampai, tarik bags lagi, excuse me, excuse me lagi to get on the platform...to make it more dramatic, the train was waiting at the far end of the platform...! by then, i was like, kalau train nie nak tinggalkan i pun, dah tak kisah, tinggal laa...i tido laa kat station nie..nasib baik it stopped for quite some time...
the final straw was when i sampai the capton station...bile tengok je the stairs yang tinggi cam jejantas puduraya tu j, i surrendered, and called Ainor...budak tu pulak, i bet she was expecting some cutesy bag, tengok2, she had to push one of my suitcase....kesian die..thank you Ainor! my suitcase tu pun, old-fashioned lagi tak boleh ke...? it can't even roll properly, buat malu tuan je! i was, by then, dragging my shopper bag, biarlaa koyak pn..janji sampai rumah...bile sampai rumah, tengok2 memang koyak pun...and i have a bruised bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup (U Can't Eat Without It) to show for it..
pancit, pancit....
the thing was, my dad offered to go up to Leicester when he comes to help me move, but i just wanted to get things outta the way...haa, padan muka....
oh, did i tell you? that was only round one...hehehhe, but round two was less horrendous, sebab i pinjam beg ber-trolley Ainor, and that made a HELL of a difference...and this time, i took the bus home...something i should have done in the first place..sebabnye? well, i got on the first stop and get off at the last stop...memandangkan both my bags were ber-trolley, it was much easier for me to handle them..itupun ade this French-African guy who offered to help me with it...Ok! hehehe..sempatlaa interview die kejap..he's working in the UK to improve his english or sumthing...nice guy...nasib baik jugak die ade...my only grouse i that i was lugging my dad's samsonite bag yang super keras, and yang by itself, must have weigh about half of my weight...
unfortunately, i balik on a Staurday night, and the doube-decker red bus to Clapton was as meriah as some dinner party...so much so that i got this snide remark from this makcik who goes ""ÿour suitcase has a seat"..heck, it wasn't me who put it there!! conductor bus tu yang letak so it won't be in people's way...sheesh..die tensionlaa tu, tak dapat tempat duduk..i offered her my seat, and she said "no, that's not much of a seat"...eee, rase nak hentak je dengan bag samsonite tu...i pun buat muke selamba, and continued reading my Agatha Christie, stretching my legs lagi..padan muke die...ehehe..jahatnye...
and the best part was, bag samsonite keras tu pulak, bile dah sampai rumah, tak boleh bukak! dah jammed!! i must have closed it the wrong way or something...
i left Leicester on Wednesday, and came back to get the rest of my stuff on Saturday morning on the 8.30 bus...berlai jugak sebab i was late...heeheehe..kat Leicester, my things were bergelimpangan all over the room....i sampai around 11.30 a.m., kemas the rest of it, went into uni, got a few strangers to take pictures of me heheheh..then sempat gi library lagi to check my emails..they haven't block my id yet..then, i gathered all my edibles yang tak boleh bawa ke lonon, and walked over to the medic girls'house...lepak kejap, makan lunch, tengok dvd lagi...explain my condition to them then walked back to my hall, last kemas, last look around, and i was off....
surprisingly, the same people who was on the bus from london that morning, was also on the bus that evening...and the middle aged Brit guy actually recognised me from that morning...we made conversation, and i answered him as politely as i could...tengok2, bile he got on the bus, he saved a seat next to him for me!!! alamak!! ape nak cakap dengan die nie!! tapi tak nak seemed rude, so i sat next to him, and layanlaa die punye citer, pasal politics laa, religion laa, london citylaa...cheh, tak boleh nak tido, cuz it would seem intentional and rude (not that he cares pun)...but mase dia bangun nak gi toilet, i terus grab my Agatha Chrisie and started reading..he was like, oh i've read that one, that's good...i pun sengih and cotinued reading...then die takkacau dah..die pulak tido! cheh!
now a certain part of my anatomy pulak yang aching..it's time to go to bed laa nampaknye..its already 12.25 a.m., and i have a 9 a.m. class tomorrow, and it would take me from half an hour to an hour naik bas to go to uni, so i have to get an early start..nak bangun sahur pulak tu...nanti will citer pasal my housemates pulak next time..(ade ke yang baca nie??)
**to all yang meramaikan my tagboard, to all well-wishers, thank you once again :) Selamat berpuasa kepada semua! **
p/s: thanks for the flooble tagboard afti!!! i owe u one..!! meehoon goreng with no telur and no taugeh coming up!!

Goodbye Leicester...
Good night, good night! parting is such
sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.
- Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet: Act 2, Scene -
i have time to update before prayer and last minute packing..my bus leaves at 2.00p.m.....people...i'm moving to London...shocking? err, perhaps not...long story short, got an offer to study there, (not as superior as LEicester tho') will be moving in with Ainurul's housemate, and today is my last day here...one thing for sure, don't think i've ever made such a decision in such a short period of time...less than 24 hours! let's just say, my mom was tersenyap for a bout 5 seconds when i told her that..ehhehe...anyhoo, she's ok about it..in fact, i think she liked it...dear you and you, i'm like DYING to tell you guys what actually happened..i promise, as soon as i'm able to, i will....insya-Allah...
have said goodbye to Kak Ja and family..was such a great coincidence that i bumped into her at the library yesterday...i was actually trying to avoid Firman, who wanted to take me out to dinner...malasnye nak layan!!! told him that i was meeting up with my malaysian friends, all the while thinking how i'm gonna pull that off...alhamdulillah, jumpe Kak JA..so, it wasn't an outright lie after all...hehehe..had dinner, and a long chat over at her place, and then she and her husband sent me home...told me to come over whenever and sleepover..yay!! called up the medic girls, and told them as well...might be needing their help in storing some stuff over, while i get the move sorted out...and nak kasi all the food that i can't bring over to London...
met my groupmates yesterday, and said goodbye...sheesh..i was just beginning to like them, ehehhe...told them to give me a ring whenever they are in London...mat my course leader (who looks like Big from SATC *drool*)..told him..was worth it looking at his adorable face...comelnye!!! told me to email him whenever i needed a reference, alhamdulillah...and alhamdulillah too, cuz, i'll be getting a full refund of my tuition fees here...insya-Allah, and a major chunk of my accommodation fees as well...said goodbye to a few of the housemates this morning, pasted a note saying thank you and my email as well on the kitchen door....yesterday, saw Maurice and said goodbye...he's going of to Portugal for a short break..cheh...
what else? i have humongous bags to lug to London on the coach..i hope i can handle everything..the good thing is, i'l only need one tube ride to get to the wagn station near my place (chewah, MY place), so, hopefully, everything will be allright...wish me luck people!
i need to get a few photos here, but i'll prolly do that later..so shy laa, so many people...but i've bought a uni t-shirt and car sticker tho'..hehehe..walaupun was only a student for about a month...walked round the city and market yesterday for the last time, bought a backpack (dirt cheap) and some storybooks (can't resist) but actually padan muka, because now, i have more heavy books to lug around...ugghhh...so not loking forward to that...
goodbye Leicester..it was nice tho' only for a short while...thanks for the memories! :)
p/s: Kak Idlan, i'll still be at the Notts games, insya-Allah, cheering on Leicester's champion netball team ;p

Accept My...Hiatus...
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
- Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time" -

In LSE
**CAN'T THINK OF A SONG RIGHT NOW! MEMORY LAPSE DUE TO AWE OF LSE! APOLOGIES ALL AROUND**
korang, boleh tak?? i'm currently updating in LSE!!! and i love the leyboard here..it's so clackety-clack! i'm still grinning here..and i love the look of this place..it's soo cool! don't ask me in what terms, it just is! i macam takleh stop gazing at the students here...macam tak real je...tadi, dah laa commit the embarassing act of taking pictures next to a few plaques..hehehe...takpelaa, Ainurul took some too..yelah, mementos of her skool....
my journey to London was uneventful..my class ended a little later, so i changed my ticket to a later time...sempatlaa nak do some last minute stuff before leaving..i arrived at Victoria Coach Station, London, at about 6.30 p.m..then walked over to Victoria Station (nasib baik dah tengok jalan masa on the bus)..took the tube to Holborn, where Ainurul's supposed to meet me, via the Victoria Line, then tukar naik Piccadily Line...about 5 stops..mase kat Holborn, baru je sms minah tu, turned around, and she was standing there...after a session of hugging, we proceeded to walk over to her school, where we prayed (Maghrib..i prayed in LSE!!!), and now, she's checking her email..i pun menagmbil kesempatan laa nak mengupdate..from LSE!!!! sorry, can't resist that...
oh btw, Master of all Microwavable FOod, guess what happened last night? i had the whole evening planned out carefully cuz i had to do lots of stuff...laundry, pack up for London, get stuff ready for my early class today, so i planned my meal pun dengan bijaklaa..kononnye...i goreng burger, and decided that sambil makan, i'm gonna warm up the apple turnover that i bought earlier in the microwave...so, i pun put the thing in, set the timer for 5 minutes, and then had my burger...later, i smelled smoke..i was like heh? when i turned away from my burger, i saw that the whole kitchen was smoky, and kepul-kepul asap was emanating from the microwave!!! i pun 100-metre sprint rushed to the microwave, shut it off, bukak the pintu, then rushed to both ends of the kitchen to bukak the windows wide! before the smoke alarm goes off, or any of my housemate realised the burning smell...when i finally had the courage to take out my poor turniver, i discovered that it was hangus! burnt! charred right through!! thought i could salvage it, but when i cut it open, it was all hitam! now i know the real meaning of the words, zap ur food...sheesh...warm apple turnover konon...cheh!
but one good thing came out of last night..i met this Chinese guy in the laundry room when i went to do my laundry..ehhehe..his name is Michael, first year in his Phd in Pharmacology, BBC (British-Born-Chinese)..has the cutest accent and the cutest innocent look..*sigh*...we got to talking as he was taking his clothes out of the dryer, and offered me to use his dryer cuz it was still warm...borak-borak kejap...as he ws zipping up his bag, i searched for things to talk about, and he looked as if he didn't want to leave (or i might just be imagining things again here)..then we just said goodbye, and he left, and tinggallah i kat situ, sorang-sorang, tersengih...*swoon*...but i know where he stays now! hehehe...laundry room romance...
ainurul cam nak balik dah, so gonna leave this...will try to update some time soon, kalau tidak...wait for the next entry when i balik Leicester nanti aiight! take care peeps! btw, Kak Ina Ainurul misses u!!! die suruh email! hehehe....

Just a short one...
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends
Hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin' on - we got to try
Holdin' on to never say goodbye
- Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye" -
hehehe...i'm actually updating in class...the first tutorial class for Quantitive Methods (yawn!) revolves around really simple Excel applications that i am familiar with (given that i had prepared certain datas back in the bank i used to work in), so the tasks were done within an hour..hehehe, now i have an hour to spare in the lab! tak payah nak queue in the library..my tutors are such darlings..Ozlem is from Cyprus, and i asked her if i can hang around for a bit, to use the computer, and she was like " sure!"..heheehe...best, best!
so, i have bought tickets to go to London..and i'm leaving tomorrow...i actually have class tomorrow morning, from 9.30a.m to 1 p.m. ..can u imagine?! that's almost 4 hours! well, granted that for this particular subject, i have only to go for 4 sessions, so that explains the long hours...my bus is leaving at 2p.m. so, after class, i'm gonna rush for the local bus that would take me to the bus station..sheesh, dahlaa belum pernah naik bas to the bus station..hope i'll get there and get on the coach on time..ainurul will be meeting me halfway, insya-Allah...i will get off at the Victoria Bus Station, and take the tube to Holborn, and she'll be meeting up with me there...nak tunjuk sekolah dia..can't wait! she had the weekend planned out, cuz she would be attending a conference on Sunday, so, she only has 2 days to show me around..not that i want to go to all the attractions..like i said to her..just nak tengok kehidupan pelajar normal di London, ehehehe...she's leaving for Prague on wednesday..best kan? but only a day trip..what would i give...arghh, tak boleh..kena study!!!!!!!
semalam, as i was rushing to class, i saw this tudung-clad girl at the reception area of my building..she looks like a MAlay..so i casually waved at her...note: casually as in hie-awak-kite-nak-pergi-tengok-timetable-jap-and-i'll-come-over-for-lunch-later-and-we-can-play-monopoly-then kinda wave...boleh tak? selamba je...she waved back too, so takdelaa cam bertepuk sebelah tangan..later..i went up to her, introduced myself..oh, inilah rupanye, the legendary, non-medic malay undergrad di Leicester Uni..Munirah's her name, from Kuantan..ehhehe...well, she's not sponsored tho', and she's doing Financial Economics..and the best part is, half her family is here with her..sheesh...her mom's just finished her Masters in Education, bro's in Nottingham uni, adik2 kecik semua sekolah kat sini...so, got talking, exchanged numbers, and she told me how to get halal meat here in LEicester...
great news! i have gotten in touch with this old friend of mine, Ellisha Othman, from Subang..which was kinda weird, cuz my cousin's friend, Karina in Birmingham, was her junior, and we got talking about her, just ...then suddenly, got this message on Friendster from her..! she wasn't sure if i was the right person, and told me where her house is in Subang, and all..i can't believe she still remembers me..well, i left for Sri Aman, after standard 6, and she hung round for a few years, before going off to KYS, so we lost contact...the thing is i passed her house like almost everyday, but i've never seen her...then when i went to UNITEN, i met Yasmin Emillia, who was a friend of hers in KYS...once, i think, i met her at Pasar Ramadan Subang...anyways, it was funny how we initally met, back in the days of Darjah 6..she was in fact in the morning session (where all the glamorous people of those bygone days were)..while i was in the sleepy afternoon session..the thing with me is, i love cycling in the evenings..so i would cycle round my neighbouhood during the weekends..and on one of this sojourn, that i saw her, climbing into the compounds of a kindergarten next door to her house..i was like, hey, that's trespassing! heehehe..kodi...then she saw me, and invited me over...boleh tak? i was wearing a knee length sorta mini skirt then (don't laugh! shut up!!)..and had problems climbing over the walls...finally made it, and for the first time, actually talked to this girl, who was such a gossip monger! i stayed till about 7.15p.m. and reluctantly made my way home..well, we met up a few times at the kindergarten after that, and exchanged stories, gossips, more like..but after Standard 6, it was like once, or twice...she came for my birthday party, gave me a storybook that i still keep, and invited me to her best friend's birthday party, where i went and we basically hung out away from the crowd, just talking and talking...and now, our messages on Friendster, ehheeh..well, Friendster could prolly cut us off due to excessive use..ehhehe...
so, most prolly won't be blogging tomorrow onwards till Sunday...pray for my safety aiight..and oh yeah, Cik Anon, have read those emails...sheeshh...isn't he just the dumbest of all the dumb?! el bastardo! u deserved so much better, so just keep on burning those momentos..(if u want to, that is)..be strong aiight...good things come to those who wait...insya-Allah...
take care peeps!

Langkah Kanan...
Suasana sepi begini
Panahan rindu menusuk hati
Tak mungkin kau sedari
Lantas ku titip puisi kasih
Agar gelora tidak merintih
Sengsara pun menyisih
- Siti Nurhaliza's "Percayalah" -
hehehe..lagu Siti, jangan main2...sheesh..wonder if i can write like that?!
the last entry was posted just before i rush off to my first netball training...and i can still feel the sores..ouuucccchhhh...well, that comes from a long break from RUNNING, JUMPING and generally, MOVING....sheesh...i would absolutely love to play and display my embarassing skills..unfortunately, i just can't risk it...sorry korang...i can cheer or at the most, be a reserve player, how about that, huh? hehhehe :) they are obviously training for the Nottingham Games, and judging from the fact that they won last year, i think those training sessions will be vigorous ones...alamak, takutnye...so, there we were, warming up, jogging 3 rounds around the court, practised passing and shooting (totally alien words for me)...hahaha, klakar sangatlaa kalo korang tengok..bet u guys haven't seen me on the courts before huh? so, just my luck that it happened all the way here in the UK...takdelaa memalukan sangat...
btw, Kak Idlan, is Nazimah the sister of your friend? nanti i tanya if she knows u aiight...
after the practice, i dengan penuh tidak malunye, followed this bunch of girls home..but they did invite! well, that would be after me asking if its ok for me to come over cuz their place is nearest to my hall..ehhehe...apparently, they were preparing this feast for Dr Roslan and KAk Isha, along with their family of 5 adorable kids, who have been in LEicester for the past year, and is going back next week..so, kira langkah kanan laa...their house is about 10 minutes away, and the 4 who shares it are Irene, Yuha, PEah and Aliza, semuanye bakal-bakal doktor...Peah and Irene were from Jenan, so kenal laa ex-classmate yang bernama nut, serta rakan-rakan seuniten bernama tok mat and kown...but both of them nie pangkat junior laa...the house is really nice and cozy...and the spread was yummy! dapat makan nasi lagi...not only that, spaghetti and peach crumble! talented they are, i tell ya!
they invited their neighbours, who are a bunch of male malay undergrad medic students as well...so, it was a big makan-makan thing...with me in my t-shirt and track pants...cheh, malu je...Kak Isha is really nice, she's working for MMC Oil & Gas, and Dr Roslan is funny...comel sangat when they told us that they took their kids to the place where they used to go on dates when they were studying in the UK dolu-dolu...stayed till about 11 p.m borak-borak and tengok videotapes of Charmed nad the Siti Nurhaliza concert..hehehe..
those ppl were so nice, i pulak yang terasa shy..me shy! i know! they told me to come over whenever, and i told them if diorang ade plan ape2 ke, i nak sibuk skali..hehehe, kakak postgraduate nie cam takde keje je...then Hajar and Sungkai (both 2nd year medic students) walked me home...which was nice of them cuz their hall was a little bit out of the way..nasib baik jugak..cuz the road was quiet and lonely...if i were to jalan sorang-sorang...ade yang tumpang sleepover rumah diorang..balik besok pagi...hehehe...
that was my first weekend alone in LEicester actually...this weekend..insya-Allah, nak gi visit Ainurul kat London pulak, before she changes her mind about going back...kan best kalo Cik Kieli ada...boleh tak rasa crab rangoon? hehehe...
btw, my zonkboard/ chatboardku yang comel is prolly gonna disappear anytime soon, so i've gotta get a new one...any suggestions? and then kan, tangan ini seperti gatal untuk menukar the look of the page, whaddya think? :)

Dah jumpe dah...
And now, the end is near, and so I face, the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
I've lived, a life that's full, I've traveled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
- Frank Sinatra's "My Way" -
** a tiny tribute, by way of posting part of the lyrics of our beloved Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohammad's favorite song, on his impending departure**
i've been at this com lab for nearly 3 hours..itupun i rasa cam tak cukup..but i have to go back to pray and read up a little on this case study that's due for a presentation tomorrow...well, the group presenting will be picked at random, so we still have to prepare the answers..my group's meeting tomorrow at 1 p.m....i have grouses about this group of mine, but i think it will be a little premature to spill them here..i need more patience and time, i guess...
yesterday, i went to the Malaysian Society gathering organised by the postgraduates at the Frances Noble Building...i went alone, cuz Soo didn't pick up her phone, and i assumed that she's either not back from work, or has passed out due to all the work she did...when i walked into the building, and saw a few malay families, my heart literally soared..went up to them, salam-ed, then walked into the hall that saw the gathering that afternoon...alhamdulillah...met lots of malaysian...almost 97% malay, a few chinese and indians, and a few Bruneians and Singaporeans...but mostly undergraduates doing medicine...most of the postgraduates have families with them, so it was like a big Raya open house do..i'm one of the very few "single" postgraduate, hehe...there were lots of food and drinks...nasi ayam, nasi minyak, nasi goreng, beehoon goreng, macaroni goreng, laksa, nasi himpit and kuah kacang, a variety of deserts, and banyak lagi..i was basically stuffing my face..yelah, baru second time makan nasi...got to know the postgraduates, Dr MAria, Dr Rosna, Kak Ja, and a few others..all of whom have invited me over to their place..insya-Allah, once i figured the bus routes here.. met a few students yang dah turned into doctors and are now working in the area..Farah, Dewi, Irene and BEnny...jolly and jovial "firs yers" Nazima, Arfa (budak Subang! yay!), Joanne, Vila, Vani, Fiza...others pursuing medicine are Herni, Imran, Adi, Irene, Azila, Hajar, Faizul, Farhana, and a few others (dah lupe nama)...it was fun..i basically moved around, talking to people, taking down numbers, pinching cheeks of cute little ones...Dr Rosna came with her 3 "princesses", each comel as hell, with chubby legs encased in colourful stokings, tucked in Mary Janes...as a matter of fact, the number of kids running around in the hall that afternoon, could easily rival the actual students! eheheh...so, they managed to get me to abandon my plans to check out the Oadby Swimming pool today (where the Swimming Club conducts their training) and to attend their netball training session...yeah, me and netball, what a combination ! but of course i'll come! with ill-fitting trackpants due to a long period of disservice, no less! btw Aptototz, check out Adi for me..sama batch ngan Jai kat Berseri..but doesn't recognize Jai's full name or nama manja kite (yakni Jai..hehehe)..i forgotlaa what he was called back then...was it Badut?
watched Smallville yesterday!! yay! had the common room all to myself...fiddled with the cable receiver...banyak gile channel..! naik poning dibuat den...then last night, went to watch Shallow Hal (boring), and From Hell (creepy as hell!)..sheesh, i was ready to fled by the first quarter of the movie, but was too scared to go out alone..ehhehe..so had to wait till the movie was over, then walked out with this couple....but JOhnny Depp was yummy! despite the greasy curly hair tho'...
just finished a customary round of the MAlaysian newspaper columns..y'know, hiburan, lilfe & times, entertainment, features...heck, what can i say? at this point of tiime, those are the only news that catches my eyes..*sticks tongue out* takpelaa ye...found out a few nuggets tho'...ape? aznil nawawi is gonna host melodi?! ape karisma kapoor is finally married?! ape, still no news on sham kamikaze?! ehhehe....
but what sobered me up was reading part of the interview conducted by the Star team with our PM....i can't believe that a whole year passed by just like that *snaps fingers* and he's finally stepping down within this month...as i read the interview, i couldn't help wondering what's going to happen...true, he did established order before this imminent occasion, but is it sustainable? i know within the next few weeks, the papers and tv will be splashing news all about him, and i just wished i could be back home, watching and reading everything...i may not be a very patriotic person, but i thik he is a great man (regardless what others might think), and the thought of him not being a PM anymore just boggles me...
right now am smsing with my sis...sheesh, i hate smsing when i have lots to say! tunggulaa, dapat debit card nanti, i'm gonna get meself one of them things called the 'andphone, and get meself some free minutes, so i can just blabber away...can't wait!

Reestablished Contact..in 5..4..3..2..1 :)
Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin',
Planning and dreamin' each night of his charms.
That won't get you into his arms
- Ani DiFranco's "Wishin' and Hopin'" OST My Best Friend's Wedding -
pheww...baru boleh breathe....pagi tadi, right after checking my emails at the library, i walked to town..initial intention nak cari kerja..haha..yeah, right! ended up walking round, and round...tapi discovered new routes..so oklaa...btw, afti, i went into this sheet music shop, and i wished i could buy u the books..cam best je!..nanti i save up, and try and get u one of the nicest ones for ur birthday aiight!
the other night, i went to my hall's reception at the common room..it was a last minute decision, and my attire reflected that as well..hehehe...main pakai je seluar bangang mana ntah...luckily i saw a few classmates of mine..so went to borak with them...then i saw Amanda (the first chinese girl i got to know in Leicester) and went up to her..she was chatting to 2 guys, Elyas from Mexico and Diego from Ecuador...Diego nie comel, kalo rambut die hitam, macam Hank Azaria sikit...then these 2 Greek girls joined us...then Elyas pointed to one elderly-looking guy and told me that he's a Malaysian..as that guy was leaving with 2 other chinese girls, i went up to him to ask if he was a malaysian...to my surprise, tengok2 one of the chinese girl yang malaysian, he, on the other hand, is indonesian...apa lagi..me and that chinese girl pun started hugging and jumping up and down...downright silly, but yeah, that happened ;p her name's Soo Foong, but she told me to call her Soo...macam nama orang melayu laa pulak...i guess we're just relieved to have found each other, sebabnye, like i said..jalan2 seminggu kat sini, belum tentu boleh jumpa malaysian...
i went back to my room, and was just about to got the bathroom to wash my face, and the phone rang..the female malay voice on the other side said " u tak kenal i?! sampai hati u dalie!!" omigod!!!!!! it was ainurul!!!!!!! i was soo happy...alhamdulillah...i've forgotten that i included my number in the email she sent me...so, apa lagi, borak, and borak...sampai 3 jam! she's still in london, and invited me to come over, but i told her nanti-nantilaa..baru je balik birmingham..hmm, maybe next week...ehehehe...exchanged stories of 1 year's worth..asked about lotsa stuff on being a student abroad from her...btw, cik kieli, she kirim salam sayang rindu kat cik kieli...die kata die miss sangat! as for me, i missed seeing u here...janganlaa pulak terus buat phd before meeting up first ok...
semalam walked into town ikut New Walk...New Walk nie is a pathway behind the main road that leads you straight into town, bypassing the traffic..it's really nice..lalu parks, houses, hotels, nursery, a few pubs, museum...tapi i rasa cam jauh laa pulak nak sampai the city centre..i think it took me about 1/2 hour to arrive...anyways, pegi bukak bank account, then jalan-jalan for a bit, and took the bus home...malam tadi dah terbaca buku " Why Elephants Can't Dance?" by Lou V. Gerstner Jr. (finally got the name of the book, ehehe)..macam best, couldn't put it down! sheesh..studynye entah ke mana...
today pulak, masa dah on the way nak balik from the city centre, stopped at the newsagent and bought a phone card..terubatlaa rindu nak cakap dengan Mama and my lil sis, Aliaa...yay! my mom might be coming over nanti! however, the conversation diselang-seli dengan, " Mama risau/susah hati nie" and " Are you wearing your knee guard? Pakailaa..." sheesh, yes ma! gossip ngan Aliaa jap, then i called the NOnz..ehhehe, orang tu, sekarang couple ngan Ferr and Adan laa pulak..jalan2 kat PS lagi..ehhehe, btw, i sympathise with you girl..can't wait to read about the you-know-who...oh well, real monkeys do exist...
on the way back, i saw this malay-looking girl pakai tudung..so tegurlaa..Malaysian ke? nope, Bruneian...nevertheless, got her number...Fiza namanye, undergraduate buat medicine..the best part was she told me that the Malaysian postgraduates are organising a little get together tomorrow..uwaaaa! how come i don't know?!!! alhamdulillah, jumpe die...so, insya-Allah, will be meeting up with them tomorrow *hoping with all my heart here*
so, this weekend buat ape? takde ape-apelaa nampaknye...but one thing's for sure, besok, courtesy of Kak Idlan, i'm gonna march into the common room to watch Smallville! yeah!

Much Ado About Nothing...
Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I've been waiting for you
- Remy Zero's "Save Me" (Smallville's Theme Song) OST Smallville -
i have smallville's theme song up there, cuz i miss the series...i adore Lex Luthor! so sexy...anyways, it sucks that i don't have easy access to the idiot box...guess its supposed to turn me into less of an idiot, huh? tak kisah, nak jugak!! ehhehe..
i was so tempted to do this..i'm always attracted by these things that analyzes ur namelaa, ur zodiac signlaa, ur birthdate laa, the colour of shoes ur wearing laa...courtesy of Aizul, Nonz, and Ieda...oh, please, wise one, reveal it all to me...
Your name of Dalilah makes you easy-going and refined, but detracts from your physical vitality. You desire all the finer things in life--lovely clothes, home, furniture, and environment. However, procrastination is your worst enemy, and you find yourself lacking the ambition to make your dreams a reality. People are inclined to take advantage of your sympathetic, tractable nature. You naturally attract people with problems who seek your understanding and advice. You can give good advice although it is unlikely that you would follow it yourself. You would be most successful in situations where you can use your skills in diplomacy in handling people, but where you are not under pressure or required to carry responsibility and make decisions. It is difficult for you to be individual and make your own decisions, for you lack self-confidence.
i shall not go into analyzing the analysis myself, altho' i tend to agree with some of the points..however, i also think that its based on the power of suggestion...like suggesting to you, that you are like what it suggests, then u suddenly find that, hey...it is true...hmm...oh, well to each his/her own, i guess...
don't have much to say today...i'm sure Nenet would be satisfied..altho', why bother reading if u know its gonna be long..? for all my readers *kowtows* are basically people who know me well, and know how much i love to chat..and when given the chance, i would ramble, and ramble...heck, even my farewell letter to my employers are longer than the offer letter from them..hence...the blog title also gives it away " Ramblings of a young eternal optimist..." i don't promise to be optimistic all the times, but, hell, i do ramble...like what i'm doing now...so, if its too long ...T. O. U. G. H......i'm sure u can spell that..or is that too long for you...?
sheesh..i sound pissed...i've haven't been pissed for quite a while...maybe it'll do good to my system? i can assure you, i'm not hungry right now...i spend a good 15 minutes ignoring the milk chocolate covered digestive biscuits that was standing oh-so-temptingly on my desk, while i read the first chapter of my textbook...and, alas...my willpower has shamed me...i polished off some, i'm not about to reveal numbers here, i'm still in a state of denial...so there...
yesterday, after a long session at the com lab where i updated this blog of mine with that exceptionally long entry, i took a walk to Safeways, the nearest supermarket..got some groceries...wuisshhh, tempted gile to get other non-essential stuff, but, upon reflection of my depleting wallet, decided against the luxury...got sensible stuff that will, hopefully, last me a month...i hope...bumped into Firman who was also getting some groceries..."bila mau masak?" yeah, right! he told me there was another route to my halls, so we took that one..unfortunately, due to my lack of foresight and greed, i was carrying huge and heavy plastic bags...dahlaa jalan tu uphill..! cheh..gile penat...but it was nearer tho'...
i have a class later at 5.30 p.m. and after that my halls are organising a little get-together a.k.a party..so dunno if i want to go..might drop in for a short while..tengoklaa...i'm turning into such an anti-social lately...maybe cuz i don't have anyone to accompany me...*sigh* i thought i would have found a buddy by now, but guess not...hehe, padan muke, ape ingat nie malaysia ke...senang nak cari kawan sejati? guess i'd have to work harder from now on...
semalam i checked out my friendster..banyak gile updates..i even got one message from my brother's friend asking for help...awww....comel laa....i always thought that my brother's friends just regard me as their friend's overweight sister with the big hair, and perpetually moody look...hehehe, jadi aunt agony pulak dah...but i've always liked this guy...courteous (big plus point in my books), friendly, and funny....too bad he's a little on the small side, or else i'll bet the girls would be swarming over him...
my dear friend NIeza got bitten by the aedes mosquito, and was hospitalized last week...kesiann die...told me she didn't want the mosquito to gigit her, but what to do? ehhehe, comel laa...i miss her..i'm miss getting first hand information about everything..i'm such a kepochi and now in my current condition, rasa frustrasi habis...grrr....kan best kalau can just call up people all over the world and not worry about the cost? and suddenly, i'm missing my brother..i read all the testimonials he gave his friends on friendster, and i was laughing out loud all the way...regardless of what my close friends say, my brother is funny!! he almost always makes me laugh all the time...tak pun bile tengok gusi besar die tu, i dah start laughing...and my jokes memang tak pernah buat die gelak..sheeshhh....he's kinda good looking...hehehe, if u stand about 6 feet away, and kinda squint your eyes...tapi takde girlfriend...any takers?? hehehe, promo adik la pulak...sah dah ramble jauh nie....
got to meet my groupmates cuz yesterday i miss the meeting..yikes!
btw, my not-so-long entry turned out to be quite long actually..hmm, camane tu?
