Of biscuits and the fire...fire, what fire?

Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause I'm in too deep, and I'm trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.

- Sum 41's "In Too Deep" -

uugghh...kenyang, kenyang...there was no bread at home, so i can't have my regular bread-and-cheese breakfast..plus, the kakak who sells brekkie at the office is away on a course..now, tell me why an admin staff would have to go on a course? hehehe..bitter, cuz she's not around and everyone seems hungrier....the biscuits in the biscuits tins are diminishing rapidly...acckk! have to replenish them....i'm the designated biscuits officer...about once a month, when the old newpapers and other recyclables are due to be collected, the money we get from the sales will go to the biscuit fund i.e. my wallet...sometimes, i get requests, sometimes i give them treats...my boss wanted those little cube wafers the other month, and i went to Giant to borong them...had to lug 10 packets of them in order to fill 3 empty biscuits tin...this month, i got them a tin of Jacob's hi-fiber, low-salt biscuit..konon2nye...it doesn't taste that good, and it might actually last a longer time..but nooo.....i think, my boss took the last 2 pieces yesterday..*sigh*...have to get some more then...the lady selling those cheap, kati biscuits at the PAsar Tani have already recognised my face..i'd come and taste those biscuits like some connoisseur (err, is that the right spelling?), and announced my choices...heheheh, biskut murah pun cepat habis ok....right now, they're crazy over these kerepek pisang i bought at the same Pasar Tani...yum! they're the best kerepek pisang ever...i can just keep on munching the whole packet myself....hehehhe, the other day, i saw my attractive-with-a-gorgeous-body-to-boot colleague surreptitiously placing the kerepek tupperware next to her during lunchtime...no wonder laa cepat habis! sheeshh....

last week we had a fire drill...and man, was it tiring! i didn't know going down stairs would result in such pain! we knew a drill was coming up, cuz a few days begore my pregnant colleague was called for a course...these are some of the people who would get top priority in abandoning the building..so, we pumped her for info..when is it ? when is it??! she just laughed and said she doesn't know, but if we see her grabbing her purse and her precious new handphone on her way out, well, it's safer to follow her then....so, the day came, and she waved at us merrily to go downstairs in the elevator..my cheeky boss pun, apa lagi, left along with her...the rest decided to go down to the 4th floor and walked the rest of the way down the stairs...so, the office was left with me and another male chinese colleague who was the floor's marshall...knowing that it's a drill, so it wasn't really a panicky situation...as a matter of fact, when the bell rang and the announcement came on the PA system from the building's management, i was actually on the phone with a client, Mr Lew from Penang "Dalilah, can i have the maturity date please? " "Oh, Mr Lew, we're actually having a fire drill right now, but i'll get back to you after lunchtime ok? " "Haa? you're having a fire drill??!!!" "Oh, yeah, i was just on my way downstairs"..in a most relaxed manner..hahahah! my colleague then pulled out his almost-brand-new marshall hat, and put it on proudly, he looked so funny! and the rest of the marshalls were coming round, making fun of the situation, of everybody...so, i joined the throng of people going down the stairs...met my friends on the way, and chatted our way downstairs...now, i thought i was luckier being on the 21st floor, as opposed to those on the 27th floor..man, was i wrong! it seemed as if we've been going down the stairs for ages...and when we look up to see which floor we're on..."What, 18th???!!!!"...arrgghh!!! by the time i reached ground zero, my knees had turned to jelly! i couldn't find my balance, and staggered to the clusters of gerais behind the office building where i found other pregnant colleagues, and those who cheated! (heheheh..) anyways, was greeted with icy-cold drinks and sympathetic sayings from them (another ehhehe...saje only)...and spent the next hour hanging round, before we could actually go up to the office again...and that was my first fire-drill with the bank...the end...

by the way, my legs hurt like hell the next 2 days....so keras and dead..to quote from a friend, karat...and i didn't want to ever go down any more stairs...let me just jump, please.. :)
