Someone else's dreams...
(Never)
forget where you've come here from,
(Never)
pretend that it's all real,
(Someday)
soon this will all be someone else's dream,
this will be someone else's dream

aahh....
i've finally succumbed to the lures of revamping my blog and attaching the nifty tagboard..tp not that much difference pun..but, strangely, i'm enjoying it...hmm...however, everything is on a trial run here..we'll see if i'm able to keep this all up...
wasn't able to update yesterday cuz i was too busy preparing presentation slides for this training session that i was to give in the evening..the bank has taken in a few trainees and for the past month, various personnel from various departments and divisions have been giving short training session after office hours...so, this week and next week is our turn to give the training...being one of the rookie, naturally they hand it over to me..grr, grrr...hehhehe..well, actually, i've known about this for about a month already..but that didn't stop me from doing everything last minute...
but i think i've improved since those uni days..i actually had an HOUR before the session starts..my ex-groupmates would have been proud of me.. :) i made sure that my seniors were around, cuz i wouldn't be able to handle the Q & A session later..and so, it went quite well..well, there was this not-so-minor glitch that kept me flinching the whole time...i had saved my slides on a disk and brought it to the presentation room..when i opened the floppy i couldn't find my slides..i was like, oh s***...luckily, i had saved it in the bank's server, so i rushed next door with the IT support guy to download it again...didn't occur to me to get my other presenting partner to save it also, nope, silly me...unfortunately in the frenzy, we managed to save only one batch of slides...and the other one was the unedited and unfinished version!!! arrggghh...i could just slap myself silly then...but we went right ahead and finished the presentation..
the Q & A session came..and the golden question, soalan cepu emas came.."what are exactly your operations? "..somehow, i'm stumped...i couldn't answer the question properly...neither could my colleagues explained the fine details of what makes this job one of the interesting one i've come across..(oklaa, i don't like it..but i find it very interesting...)
i was thinking about it on the way home...what i told them was, that it's not very easy to explain it words..you have to be there, in the dealing room, to see what's going on, to hear what's going on, basically, it's a very hands-on job..no amount of reading or preparation can turn you into the perfect employee if you've never had the experience...
it just got me thinking...it's a wonder there are many who misunderstood us...who think we take things lightly, who thinks that our job is the easiest they've ever seen..hey, we're basically glued to the phone right? but there's so, so much more to that...i just wish i could impart the essence of the job to these trainees..but judging from their glassy-eyed look..i'm not quite sure if what i did yesterday amount to anything...
but i've missed those nervous twitch in my tummy before speaking in public, the shaky voice when i first start talking, the adjusting-the-volume-of-your-voice when you want it to fill the room, the way it changes according to the words...was glad that i could relive it again yesterday...
